Thread: From your Correspondent: Your top issues?

hmmm my top issues with this proffession are simple.
1. Song selection. Very poor selection over all. When compared to other professions we dont really getall that much.
2. Instraments. Ok so we get some nice ones but come on there are alot more out there I am sure.
3. Instramental Sounds. We need more distinct sounds for each instrament.
4. Flourishes(a). we need more flourishes make it where we can nearly fill both rows of an expanded hot bar.
5. Flourishes(b). make them last longer and do more impressive things.
6. Tips. I wont get on a soap box about this since others have but since this is our lively hood.....They dont exist really most players dont tip hardly at all and if/when they do its for 50-100cred
7. Missions. pfft they are a joke 10+min work for maybe 150cred when I can take a slaughter mission of kill 30 rills and make 2k+ it doesnt make sense
8. Having to keep nalgron and omni box targeted constantly to use them. This makes it where I can really interact with my audiance at all which seriously makes some ppl think I am playing afk when I am not.
9. Having to drop down to the lowest lvl song the youngest entertatiner/musician can play.
10. Not having a performing stage in cantinas.....come on these places in the movies had em why cant we?
11. Macro'ng. I personally do a macro'ng loop to obtain xp. But I also sit at the keyboard and chat and interact with people. I do afk macro. I do this so I can get the massive amounts of musician xp to skill up. Personally I usually sit in a corner in the cantina away from others and skill up there. So I dont detract from the ones who sit at the computer.
12. Fix problems with the system logging me off even when I am sitting at the computer interacting with ppl.
13. Better augmentations to our skill lvls.
14. Buffs that last longer and can do more.
Well I think I have thought hard and long enough.
Talk more later.
All important, BUT HE SAID ONE! Which do you want the MOST?
Ok, I'm sure this won't go over well with some instrument crafters...too bad...
Alot of folks use the cheapest (aluminum) materials to make instruments...how bout this (for those of us who are using Grade A materials and are higher up on the tree)...The new instruments that are forthcoming; make them only creatable by musicians with sufficient % crafting. I.E. Lets say the new instrument is playable in the same "box" as a Kloo horn. The musician makes a Kloo horn but usues his/her experimentation points to upgrade the instrument into a heavier version of the Kloo (the new instrument). The crafter must get X% successfully to create this item. If you have 4 experimentation points coming your way for making the Kloo horn, you spend them on the "new" prototype. You then recieve a percentage of lets say over 50%, and are given the choice to create the "new" instrument. I realize that this is probably alot of coding and might be difficult to put forth. But I like the idea of these experimentation points that we have (and seem to do nada) actually being used for something. I also like the idea of this hopefully removing alot of the crap instrument makers out there. A tin whistle is still just a tin whistle.
Using the best I can find. If anyone knows of materials better than Ditohi or Ihak (could be Ihok) lemme know...

2) Add more instruments and make them all sound differents (horn/bandfill-omni)
3) Fix Nalargon/ommni bug (can't put them back in back and have to target them. Remember, before the first patch, we can put ommni back in the bag before leaving or when switching instruments)
4) Gig missions. If I do delivery missions (and anybody can do them) I can earn better in less time... As a master XP in not a reward by itself
5) Fix instruments volumes. We can't hear mandoviolin/nalargon in novice entertainer songs, only the horns.
6) Make a guide about mind buff like for armor/house so everybody and us in particular can understand how it works
7) Make us enable to have mind buff while playing (alone or in group, I never get any)
I don't think afk is a problem. There is less and less entertainers now in my server (Wanderhome) at european time. Either they give up or they have to surrender their skills. Don't spend time on useless issues that time will remove (like the /denyservice ? Have to do it everytime you start to play and can't see who are on or not? => add a box in ignore list so that we autodeny the one who are checked).

1. More Songs
2. Different Instrument Sounds
3. Musician Missions that are worth the Skill of a Master , and Allow me enough freedom to choose what song I want to play , thus not being stuck on a low level song , just because it won't make me stop playing, thus reseting the mission timer.
4.Usefullness in a group ... Currently my Master Musician Skills bring nothing to a group that I'm wanted for , thus Have had to pickup other skills , which while are Good , I'd much rather use skills that I've already made Master at ... While I don't want to be turned into an EQ Bard ... there has got to be something that can be done here.
1: more songs, instruments and flourishes
2: FIX the attack delay in the loops and flourishes---off by a 32nd note/beat and is really horrible!
3: allow musicians to choose their own instrument

only issue: Spice up the songs.... i dont care how ie more songs, more flourishes, unique instrament sounds or even... make /pause music targetable as well as having a /persistantpause so you pause till you flo or something... i could live with it how it is if we could just have a little more variety... i really feel a persistant pausemusic cmd would do a lot for the songs but either way JUST DO SOMETHING afterall its been what 2months now and no answer bah
What's I'd like to see is a group leader be able to coordinate the musicians and dancers under him (or maybe add this as a Master level skill?)
It always looks so awesome when a few of us in a group do the same flourish at the same time. It's be nice to be able to do this consistantly without making macros together (something more for the casual cantina group, not the practiced routines of an organized band)
Sorry cant narrow it down to 1 but its small list (3)
ALL AFK ENTERTAINERS!!!!!!!!!!
/charge function (1000 cr for 5 min, then 100 cr a minute after that)
/note f, a, c, e ; e, g, b, d, f (more personal touch)
1) Group playing can become tedious because everyone in the group must play the song of the lowest skilled member. I already hear Rock and Starwars2 in my sleep. There needs to be a system to counter this. I saw one suggested where the group can play higher level songs so long as there is a higher-level player in the group. Something along those lines would be outstanding.
2) I honestly can't see (or hear) much of a difference between most of the intruments. The entire way up Entertainer you basically just get different versions of a clarinet. The "coolest" instrument is locked away in Master Entertainer. The intruments could use more distinction.
3) More useful Mind Buffs are going in. Yeay! We are unable to buff ourselves. Boo! It decreases the likelihood of us going out to do missions with a group, since we don't get to benefit from our own abilities.
On that note, I really don't see what the problem with AFKers is. Honestly. There is no good way to stop AFKers without borking up a great other many systems. Some of them are rude prats. Yes. But then again, I've met plenty of rude prats in this game that were very much at their keyboards. I would be in favor of some system that causes AFKers to get a smaller slice of the pie in terms of XP, but the truth is that that happens a lot of the time anyhow. Unless they can get into a huge group and stay there, they end up playing solo after a while, and that has deminished returns. Just my thoughts.
4) This may get shot down directly, but I certainly wouldn't mind it. Get the Flourish Spam moved to the Combat Tab. Since all we really have to do is talk. . . must our Spatial always be filled with a thousand copies of the same line of text?
5) Never post to web boards at 1:20 AM.
