Party favors and emotes are not worth 34 skill points, 620 apprentice points, and having to dance and do hair for multiple hours.

Mandoviol and Ceremonial are.

And that's pretty much the end of the story. Will there ever be anything they can put as a reward for master entertainer that will be equal in worth to those musicians that have masteredboth that you who refuse to do so won't demand to have as a master musician for free?

I doubt it.

I stand by my original point. It makes no sense for these to be the rewards to Master Entertainer. As a result, now that I have reached Master Musician, along with several other folks, is that Master Entertainers are not being included in our bands, because they all want to play ceremonial, because it is their highest song. As a result, we play Virtuoso on the Nalargon, and they are left in the corner, soloing their way to Master Musician, while we get 130+ Music XP that we don't need anymore, lol.

It's sad, but it's what has happened.

I'd love to see what would happen if Master Entertainer had been given a new dance instead of a new song. I guarantee the folks who went straight for Master Dancer andskipping Entertainer would be in the same boat.

You remove the song and instrument, I'll remove master entertainer. I stand by that.

And no, they aren't in the same boat because any dancer can dance any dance in a banda.

Also, ceremonial is fairly junky on xp.

and I'm sure your also the same crowd that refues to play sw1 to help the newbies get up experience...the ones that only play your highest song....I plan on master musician..and when I reached master entertainer I ONLY played cerremonial when iether the rest the group could play....or when no one else was around and i was the only entertainer.....Multiple entertainer groups should not exist in the same cantina....If you master musicians only want to play your top song then move along to a private cantina/an unused cantina/hotel. or theater. Beyond that if you can't give back to the same community that helped you reach where you are you should be isolated. The branch is a group effort and always should be treated as one.

"Should a Master Entertainer be a better Musician than a Master Musician?"

No.

"Should a Master Entertainer be a better Musician than a Master Musician?"

If he has also mastered music? YES.

Why?

I mean, why in the game-balance sense. Why is it necessary to good game design for complete musicianship to cost two full professions?

Destinnova... gah I don't even know what to say to you... that isn't a sad situation, it is just ridiculous. I hope you all have fun playing your virtuoso song, all by yourselves, for eternity. Word spreads fast about people like you.

I played with a few masters on our server on a couple of occasions (there are only 3, and they always are together). They kept making the entire group stop and listen to them play virtuoso for about 10 minute stints at a time. After that they would make the newbies wait while the band played higher level songs. I'm only 1 skill from master, and I have all the songs, including ceremonial... but I will never group with them again. I told a friend of mine (who became master last night) that if I ever turned into one of them that he has permission to shoot me... over and over and over and over...

It's not. It is important to being a master entertainer, who is a master of image design, dance and music.

"Why must a dancer be an image designer and a musician to know all their dances??"

See above.

"I'd be pleased as punch if the dances and songs were traded out for [the lighting effects]."

You might want to consult with the other musicians, and not just the ones complaining herein. I don't think most of them would agree with you. BTW, have you seen what the effects look like when someone reaches tech III and IV? I would never give those up!

"...mastering an ELITE profession should always be far more rewarding and mean that you have truly mastered something."

Are you saying that all of the skills you acquire in the elite line (5 instruments,ÂÂ4 songs and all the schematics) ISN'T far more rewarding than master entertainer?

If you can't dedicate your character to entertainment, and spend the xtra skill points to get something you seem to want so bad, that is tough. It is a lot of skill points to spend if you are going to doing any serious combat, yes, which is why it should be rewarding for those that spend the points.

Hijo don't get upset with me, I am not the one who choses to play Ceremonial. I am not kicking anyone out of any band, but the Master Entertainers are getting upset when they are the only ones who can play the **edit** song, even in a group of Master Musicians, so they leave. Again I repeat I have never kicked anyone out of a band.

And to clarify, I will play down to the lowest member of the band at all times, and I train for free. You'll also see on the Instruments thread that I give Slitherhorns away to new Entertainers and have the cheapest instruments in the Galaxy.

Don't you DARE for one second accuse me of not contributing to the Musician community. The threads in here about people charging 3K for a Fanfar prove exactly how much some people think about their own profession.

"What should be in Master Entertainer is all the pretty effects from both the dance and music trees. That always seemed a Entertainer skill anyway."

completely agree

"Compare the marksman tree to the Rifleman, Pistoleer, and Carbiner and you will see a very nice parallel to exactly what I'm talking about and suggesting. Dancer and Musician are the only Elite professions that cannot use all the tools of their trade."

the same is true of most of the crafting professions. one path up Artisan + full elite onion = equals complete profession. Master Droidguy can make all the droids. Master Weaponguy can make all the weapons. Imagine how happy Weaponcrafters would be if Sniper Weapons were on Master Artisan ...

Musicians have two "master" levels:

1. Master-Musician-Who-Can-Play-Almost-All-The-Instruments-And-Most-Of-The-Songs

2. Master Musician-Who-Can-Play-All-The-Instruments-And-All-The-Songs

Psst, I have a secret to tell you... musicians can craft instruments. Artisans can't! Man the cat is really out of the bag now! Haha, boy are those artisans going to be MAD! I can't wait to see the look on their faces when I make a mandovial right in front of them... and then play it even! haha I'm gonna go do that right now before they realize their "oversight" and nerf me! I might even sell it after I'm done playing it!Just imagine if an artisan-merchant combo sees me doing that! OMG, they are going to be crying by the time I'm done taunting them!

OH BTW, can you tell me when you are going to break it to the dancers that you are trying to get all of their skills removed from the techniques line? You do know pretty effects is all they have in techniques right? Ok, good. Boy will that be fun... I can't wait to post pictures of you getting your arse kicked after that one! Oh but wait! I forgot the devs are magical, and they can just snap their fingers and create a whole new skillset without delaying any of the other fixes this game really needs. Man, magic devs are the best!

How's everyone else's day going?

if i may be allowed to turn this thread away from the volcanic outgassing and back to the topic ...

what is the game-balance reason for making complete musician cost two full professions?

~ Because a Musician with all the instruments can one-shot anyone and will pwn in pvp so it has to cost a lot of skill points! ~

no.

~ Because a Musician with all the instruments can heal BF with a glance so it has to cost a lot of skill points! ~

mm ... no.

~ Because a Musician with all the instruments canget chicks at a supersonic rate so it has to cost a lot of skill points! ~

ok ... i'm listening ...

~ Because ifMusicians got all their instruments within one profession they would have enough skill points left over to ... to ... do some ... other ... things ... that are ... something ... ~

ok i just ran out on that last one, maybe you guys could help. what is the overriding imbalance that is being addressed here?

Well, I can safely ignore Hijo. Does absolutely nothing for the debate other than come off as a 12 year old troll.

Oh, but I did want to point out one thing that he said and correct him.

Master Entertainers are not the masters of Image Design, Dance, or Music. Heck they can barely do anything in any of those professions. So nice try, wrong, but nice try.

So, does an adult have some constructive feedback in opposition?? And yes, I know, I'm feeding the troll, but I think it is humorous to see people just make butts of themselves. =)
