Thread: Update on New Song?

no offence but i find it very unlikely it is comming next week esspecially with what has transpired.
Personally, I wouldn't put anything beneath the Devs.
I'm fully expecting the Quest to go Live next Tuesday, broken dance and xp requirement existing just like on TC. Because it's something, and they want it out of the way. They've done nothing to insinuate I should expect anything less. The positive is the song seems like a bit hit. The negative is road they've led us down for this new content. Not a road I'd like to venture down again.
Well, next Tuesday we'll find out.
I'm wondering who the 1-starring bandits are. Disgruntled Devs? Or, maybe my recent posts were really that bad...
Ah well. Time for more coffee.
Sorry if I pissed anyone off...

Now if you want them to focus on entertainment I strongly suggest that we get some exotic leotards made and send a sizeable contingent of attractive young ladies to dance for the devs. Remind them whatIS possible and what they are missing by ignoring this class.

my husband said almost the very same thing to me when I was telling him about our problems.

Not your imagination.
JustG's info from his PM was apparently "not for public consumption," and I was to magically know this - even though he didn't say so.
I was just slapped on the wrists later, when I asked if the base step for the dance would be fixed. I was then informed that PM meant private message and I wasn't supposed to post anything.
I find it all very upsetting. I thought I was helping, and instead I got yelled at by a Dev. Wonderful.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but am I not the public? Am I a Correspondent? Am I a Dev? How should I know what their mysterious rules are regarding communication? Basically, he set me up. And I can't say I appreciate that.
I find it appalling that this Quest is going Live next week, yet apparently none of us are supposed to know. The Dancer and Musician communities have taken enough collective **edit** that we could at least be treated with dignity in this, and have some prior knowledge regarding our content. It was too normal to have us know our stuff was coming in 10.2, instead they had to beat us down to the level we're supposed to exist in, in the dark and totally ignored.
I won't post anything more about this. I'm through. Probably for the forums all together. I find how I was treated to be totally unacceptable. Apparently I need to know everything about Correspondents and Devs before I receive a PM from a Dev. Otherwise I get my posts deleted and treated like I'm the stupidest thing to ever walk the Earth. That I don't need.
I really wish I knew everything about everything, but I don't. JustG seems to think I should. I'm flattered he doesn't consider me to be "the public," but I hardly deserve such treatment. I'm just another player looking for info that's LONG overdue. I got it, I posted it, and at least we all know something now.
Ya know, I do know something. I don't pay money per month to be ignoredor scolded for something I was never informed about. There was nothing in his first PM to insinuate I shouldn't release the info. So I did. End of story. Irregardless of how everything came about, the fact of the matter is that their communication with us is crap and nothing but crap. By PM'ing that to me, and not telling me to keep it quiet, he was releasing it the public. If he thinks releasing information to someone on the forums with 17 posts (and thus logically assumes I know all there is about "PM from a Dev" etiquette), then there are a lot more serious problems within the current management structure.
This game is a joke. And I'm no longer laughing. It's all fun and games until a Dev scolds you for doing what any of us, who are looking for info on our new content, would do. Any other profession would get treated with an ounce of respect and dignity, and not be forced to beg like starving mutts on a roadside for any scrap of information regarding their expected new content. We do not seem to deserve an ounce of dignity and respect.
Yesterday was very strangely the single best day, and the single worst day, I've ever had in SWG since starting to play this game.
How exciting to finally get info on our Quest froma Dev. How infuriating to then get reminded I'm a piece of crap who was apparently undeserving of the information I got, and I was too stupid to know what to do/what not do with the info i DID get.
Oh, and just to let you know, there STILL ISN'TA SINGLE WORD FROM A DEV IN THE FEEDBACK THREAD. Lovely.
I'm out.
P.S. if this thread gets deleted, sorry. But now I'm on the Dev **edit** list I bet, which I most assuredly appreciate as well. I just wish JustG would have left me alone. What a wonderful way to make a player feel after getting a PM from a Dev. Good job, SOE.
You know, you should reply to JustG with exactly those words. At the beginning and at the end of it, put "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" ![]()
Is his reply to you also not for public consumption, by the way?

As I posted in another thread, many devs take the view that their Private Messages are just that -- private. Not for public consumption. That's how I always treat them. Now, maybe the devs haven't been clear or consistent about that with players.
I can't recall anyone ever saying that. Honestly.
If so, perhaps they should clarify their policy.
Personally, I was totally unaware there was any type of policy regarding this.
Me, I treat all PMs to me as confidential, and I hope and expect that people will treat my return PMs the same way. In my case, I say this not as a matter of TOS or NDA, but as a matter of courtesy. For example, when I solicited "sandbox" applications, I did so via PM, the way one might solicit resumes confidentially for a job.
Yep, but as I recall you also mentioned we could keep things confidential with a PM to you.
As for JTL, it is at least peripherally relevant to our quests now. See asommers recent post in the TC forum (sorry for cross-posting this):
==============================================
TestCenter is up for those with JTL access. You must use the JTL LaunchPad to play. Please be aware that if you do play on TestCenter, the Character Builder Terminals (blue frogs) will not be available.
If you do not have JTL access, we plan on having TestCenter opened to the non-JTL beta players later in the week. You will currently not be able to use the TestCenter LaunchPad to play on TestCenter.Your patience is appreciated.

Umm, I find it kind of a poor choice on their part to loosely link our Quest into an NDA-bound Beta when we should be testing our Quest, giving feedback, and getting communication regarding our feedback. If the NDA is such a problem, they should make an Entertainer Quest thread in the JTL Beta forums, give all Entertainers JTL Beta forums access to only that thread, and allow us to have some sort of productive discussion about the quest, instead of 2 weeks of talking to no one (or so it would seem). If they can't communicate due to the NDA, get us in where we CAN converse over this as well. I've seen the wonderful level of communication the JTL forums are getting. If the wall between the Devs and us is the NDA, I feel the Devs should let us into their territory, not just shut us out and leave us hanging. We're running out of time. Ah well. *shrug*
I'm working as hard as I can to get you more information on these quests. I post about them, in one way or another, almost every day. I've had in-game conversations with QA personnel about them. I've had PMs about them, back and forth, with various devs. But I've not been authorized to say much. I'm open to suggestions on what more I can do to get the devs to open up more.
As always, thanks NewJedi
Good to know you've got our back.

The mistake was TH's and TH's alone. He can't know or guarantee that a stranger will feel the same way. Even worse what could he have been thinking to respond to someone he didn't know with information he won't even let the cors release. The fault is 100% his. If he is going to respond with priviledge information to ANYONE through a PM that he doesn't recognize as a correspondent then he is plain careless and thats even more frightening.

Actually, 'twas JustG, not TH. ![]()
But the rest of what you say, yeah...I pretty much have to agree. I don't remember being told to keep Dev PM's confidential unless I'm instructed otherwise. /shrug
What the hell do I know, I just play this game...

Well, you guys may be right that the devs have been unclear or inconsistent about how their PMs should be treated. It's always been clear and obviousto me that "Private" messages from devs are "private," but then I'm governed by different rules than you are anyway.

Well, I think (NDA). Heh.
If the regular forums got half as much attention, you would have some very, very happy people here.

Can anyone else confirm this please? :/
