Is it a good idea to go afk when you are trying to open the force slot? Do they let you know when you login the next day or do you only get told ingame when it happens.

When I log in the next day I can see the last 100 system messages. Don't think it really matters though cause I have to master musician and I have to be ATK to get the training.

I didn't know Cliffe, Goose, and the gang coded aimbots into CS for everybody to use like theDevscoded macros into SWG for everybody to use. Is that in the newest version or something? I haven't played since 1.5 so maybe it was after my time.

Did a DEV code your macro ? They probably coded the macro system you are taking advantage of. And I don't blame Kernighan/Richie for anyone coding an aimbot in good C neither. It's not the possibility of cheating that matters, it's taking action and doing it. I'm not a cheater for owning an aimbot or loaded dice. I would be a cheater if using them.

Speaking of CS, you're probably one of those people who cryed about the AWP huh?

I didn't like it, I think it's too much action in CS to represent sniping. I like the BF representation better, so I have not played CS since BF came out. And I haven't regretted not seeing at least one openly cheatingplayer anytime I log in.

"you may not use or distribute macros or other programs which would allow unattended game play."
-SWG EULA

Pretty clear to me. It's only SOE in their inept way of not doing what should be done that keeps people Macrotaining. Like I said, who respects a set of rules when one is openly and without consequences disobeyed ? On what moral base can SOEjudge a duper then ? ( Legally they can do anything they want to anybody without a reason anyway )

Why not let the newbs leach?

Why not let the newbs Ninja loot your Krayt ? Why not let the poor guys rob the bank ? Because it's still wrong. And one newb who leeches is hurting the next newb who does not. And we all know because we all started out as newbs

If I said "SOE determines what is a cheat, not you or other stupid people." would you interpret that as me calling you stupid?

Yes.

But what are you trying to tell me ? That I misinterpreted the sentence and that the two parts of the "or" don't belong together ? Congratulations, then you aren't allowed to use macros at all. No matter how you turn and twist, the EULA says no unattended gameplay by programs or macros, as any MMORPG EULA I have read. If SOE would enforce their own rules, we wouldn't have this discussion. If you have played MMORPGs then you know that all of them have these rules. Some enforce them successfully, some fail. SOE fails. But that's no surprise to those who know SWG, is it ?

My point is the phrase "macros or other programs" insinuates that using a program, macro or other, to allow AFK play is a no-no, just as "you or other stupid people" insinuates that you're stupid (not that I'm calling you stupid, it's just an example). Is the in-game macro system a program? I guess it depends on how you define program. I don't think it is. Thus, until somebody at SOE actually says using the in-game macro system to play AFK is against the rulesI'll keep on doing it.

But if I look at it your way, I come to the conclusion that macros in general are not allowed. Which is even more absurd. Either those two parts belong together, or they don't. Either macroing itself is forbidden, or just macroing and third party tools for unattended gameplay. I'm not a lawyer, but I'd say it's the latter.

"you may not use or distribute macros" ?

If you looked at it my way you'd come to the conclusion that programs that allow for AFK play are not allowed. I don't think the in-game macro system is a "program" so I don't think there's anything wrong with using it.

The in-game macro system would be what is referred to as "macro". And depending on how you interpret the sentence, either macro use in general, or macro use for unattended gameplay is forbidden. Otherwise, there should be no reference to "macro" in the sentence and it should only read "program".

The problem with afk macroing is not that it is allowed, but that it is even used. WeTRUE musicians worked hard to get where we are. We labored at the computer for hours to get xp. We are proud and honored to have attained the position of master. Afk entertainers are worse than any exploiting combatant or hit-and-run combat medic. Afking is the purest form of pathetic laziness and it is a disgrace to the music profession. WeTRUE musicians dont like you and dont want you. If you are too weak to sit at a keyboard, hit a nonafk-macro, and talk while you earn xp then you are just too d*mn worthless to be in the musician line of work. For your sake, Jason, you better hope you never afkmacro when I am in your group. Because I make it a point to stop the band and solo start so the start band doesnt work. Then I sit back and smile with satisfaction knowing that you will come back to the keyboard later on to find that you have not been playing for a long time. It's such a thrill that i recommend to anyone tired of walking into a cantina and seeing one of those piece of sh*t afkers playing/dancing in a group. Its been a while since I went on tour and I think its about time I went on another. I will be going to the 3 major planets playing in all the cantinas. To all you afkers beware because I will be having fun stopping your useless, untalented, disgraceful actions

Do you even read the posts or just pick out a single sentence and ignore the rest? I already showed why "macros or other programs" defines macros as aprogram and that I believe the in-game macro system is not a program. Thus it is my belief they meant external third-party programs whether they be macro programs or some other variety, and that using the in-game macro's to play AFK is ok by the EULA.

If you think "macros" and "other programs" are two distinct and separatethings in the EULA sentence why would you think "you or other stupid people" is inferring that you are stupid? According to you:

macros or other programs = macros are different from programs

you or other stupid people = you are the same as stupid people

Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't phrases structured the same be intepreted the same regardless of the subject?

Good thing I have a /startmusic line in my macro so I'll keep on playing regardless of what you do. Though it'd be funny to come back and laugh at you and your lame attempts to stop me.
