Spamming the cantina is the wrong way to look for a buff. Cantina's get crammed full of AFK dancers spamming for heals and buffbots, not an environment a master wants to hang out in.

On every server, the entertainers have created an entertainer channel to help people find buffs. Try using that chat channel instead. Not only will that drastically increase your chances of finding a buff, but you can probably get the buffer to apply the buff closer to your hunting grounds.

I have always buffed anyone who asked, I have never asked for any other payment then "Just tip me what ever you think it is worth to you". I have my master title up at all times and I am searchable when I am not involved in an event. For example, I turn off searchable when I at a wedding lasts Saturday, but turned it back on as soon as it was over. And I have the ENT chat channel show up in my special.
Yet I have only ever gotten one tell when I was not in a cantina by someone asking for a buff, and of cause, I wend there to buff him. And I have only gotten, three tell when I was in a cantina. Two of them I buffed, and the last one could not wait the 2 minutes it would take to complete the buff I was working on at that moment.
I have received a few more requests over special, but with two or three AFK entertainer spamming for tips and heals well there are a risk that they are lost. 90% of all buffs I have given have, I have had to initiate the deal my self. I have to directly ask people if they are interested in a buff, often in tells as they do not seam to read special.

Add to that that some people pay 5k for this all imported buff, when they are on thair way out to do 20k missions. Luckily, I have never been paid less then 5k and most people tip me 10k for a buff.

As for advertising a buffing service, there is enough spam as it is in the cantinas as is. I am not going to add to it with a "Master Musician buffing. /tell me to get an invite." Every 30 seconds or what ever. That is the kind of thing, which makes me despise being in public cantinas to begin with, I still go there as a service though.

ALL master musicians can buff, all you have to is ASK. It not like doctors who have to have buff packs, we can apply infinite amounts, which are always equally good. Moreover, it only cost us time. So if YOU can not find buffs that the problem lies with YOU and not with the musicians.

not very effective macro.... it only perform a flourish every 8 sec on the first run... not enough to buff for a full 2 hour in 3 minutes and 20 sec. It has an 8 sec pause when XP tick are 10 sec apart (just turn on time stamping and you will se). And the flourish macro loops, and is started in every buff cycle...so at the 10 buff cycle there will be running 10 flourish macros at once...

So two options... the writer is an incompetent macro writer that do not know how macros and buffing works, or the macro is mend to disable any buffbot that uses it.

Decent analysis. I wasn't going to point out the flaws in the macro, since they could then be corrected. Buuuut... since we're picking on the macro, I'd just like to ask to hear the cool new flo 9 we have. Look closely at the macro... that was the first thing I saw when I looked at this, and had a good time with it.

I did not comment on the macro in the original thread for that reason, but is SO easy to write a buffbot macro. I made one just to se how easy it would be, and it took me all of 5 minutes, and that was mostly because I was making sure it used proper grammar and did not include spelling mistakes.
And yes that flo 9 looks interesting. Though, I must admit I missed it, just glanced over the numbers

Flo 9 is just a repeat of Flo 4, but you should check out Flo 10.

I'll go to someone that is buffing live over a bot, but they're not there. That is what I'm saying. I know my whole guild uses this service, but finding non-bots is almost impossible. Until the bots came along, getting a mind buff was rare.

My alt is taking up Musican after a factory tragedy, so I was in these threads to check out Musician. I couldn't believe the amount of whining on the boards. I'm sorry if people are offended by that, but it simply is whining. My only concusion is that some entertainers don't understand the very high value of mind buffs for combat players. Because if they did, they would offer this service far more often. And I do mean service! Get paid! I challenge the entertainer to get out there and buff. You'd be surprised at how much business you'll do overa buff bot.

funny then how many run out w/o saying thanks or tiping... and how this *invaluable* service that is so rare to get is only tipped 5k... no offence but on my server tonight, bestine alone had 12 master ents there and 5 master dancers sooo cant be that hard....

These are what the majority of buffbots do to Entertainers, and they simply do not care.

Now, this may not be what you intend to do. You may simply want to help yourself and your friends when buffs can be hard to find. Unfortunately, word spreads. Soon you have the only source of real credits and experience drawn away from those who need it, and given to a character that is there for 'convenience'.

As stated before, if you need buffs, try talking to your local Entertainers. Be courteous. Make friends. Use your server's Entertainment chat channel. I'm not saying you'll ALWAYS have buffs available, (I WILL) there's just too little incentive for anyone not dedicated to being an Entertainer to try one (and yes, buffbots add to this cycle). However, the social tactic helps you out,and helps the community.

LMAO this would be funny for one could not happen and if it did I would do something about it i.e get on bike and move , hop shuttle cant afk hope shuttle; or just bring them to a cave and let them get kiled. See you have to understand as i have stated before I will use my buffbot in the privacy of my own home for my personnal use and for guild/friends. What your talking about is some idiot doing nothing but harassing someone for no reason. I on the other hand stay out pf cantinas and stay away from others. So stop crying about what others do with thier characters.

Also as far as giveing motovation to give mind buffs BAH. I have been a doctor for seven months adn if i need money to get whatever and i dont feel like running janta missions I have the motovation to buff. YOU entertainers should not require motovation from the community to give buffs.

oh and btw I figured out the macro for flourish it would go like this

So you have no interest in even trying to sympathise with the real entertainers, So let me try a economical argument.

What is the current exchange rates between SWG credit and $? Yes I know it is against the policies, but it is still done... lets just say 4,000,000 cr to the $.
Now a account costs 15$ a month so that would be 60,000,000 cr/month.
Lets say you play every day of the month that makes it 2,000,000 cr / day.
And lets say 5 sets of buffs (5 dance and 5 music to a total of ten) per day (5 sets of buffs eash 2 hours long is 10 hour per playing day).
So 2,000,000 for 10 buffs is 200,000 cr per buff.

Now tell me, that for that amount, do you think that there would not be someone on at off peak hours to buff you. Moreover, if there was not, know one would take up buffing?
If so, you must be realty unpleasant to be around.

I went toan adventure planeta few nights ago with a friend. We went hoping to get out of crowded cantinas, find a few people needing healing to gain the experience, meet some new people, and to show my friend a new planet. We arrivein acantina with one individual in it. We start performing and chatting when in comes a master dancer/musician. This master goes into AFK mode and her primary male owner and his entire group then arrive to buff up for the DWB. They promptly leave the buff bot and go on their quest. It totally destroys our experience because they won't group the bot (it would disrupt their future buffs) and others coming in listen to the master not the two live novices across the room. They were happy to chat with us but unwilling to take the extra 30 seconds our healing abilities would require. If the combatentshad no option or if we had a live master who could group with us and interactto let others in the group when she wanted to buff them it would have been completely different and worthwhile.

Yeah there are all kinds of reasons you don't find ATK entertainers on the adventure planets and the power gamersand"my game at everyone else's expense"players did it to themselves.I'm aplayer who also uses his master riflemanskills to take on high end content when he isn't having fun entertaining so it isn't that I dislike the combat content.

Hmm... entertainers are just tired of being treated like dirt and considered as people REQUIRED to help heal and buff you without any compensation or even acknowlegement. The more you treat them like vending machines, the more distaste you will see.

You know what will be REALLY funny? As soon as the recursive macro fix goes into play, I'm planning to organize a mass Entertainer strike. Lets see you Combat jokers try to deal with entertainers who don't want to take any more crap. you can just sit there with 1000 battle fatigue and a bunch of mind wounds.

Maybe you'll have more respect for us when you can't get healed.
