I and other players have requested guidance from the devs on whether the 30-second instabuff is an exploit. Until I get a reply, I personally am going to stick with old-fashioned buffing -- flourishes separated with pauses.

You're the Man Frag!! That sweet music buff was error free and worked like a charm...although you may get letters complaining from the local wildlife.

- One note for some of you from a non-musician perspective. (dropped it long ago)

Only other entertainers hate AFKers. Everyone I know on our beloved SWG (which is a LARGE amount of players) would quickly get addicted to the buffbot. Don't let the others talk you out of providing that service which will make you rich (most buff receivers wont stiff ya) and very popular! Also I can see this method being VERY popular among guild entertainers and actually give people a reason to visit player cantinas.

Drink it and it tells me I got the "muse." The Greek Muse affected the writer, not the listener! So the description contradicts what you're saying. Which means you're probably right.

Sadly, knowing the way the Devs think... you are most likely correct in that assumption!

This has been an awesome thread, and I wanted to share an additional fact I discovered..it's not necessary to get a quickness buff to perform this quickbuff..All you need is to stack 2 hits of Ryschcate and you'll be in good shape -- no healing req'd (at least for my char).

Hope that helps improve an already awesome method!

Damn right. I travel to the out planets to buff and make a living. When I see these afk buff bots, I alter my macros to keep doing an /invite on them. Yes thats right, I'm defeating your afkbot so that I, a live musician can make a living. Guess its time to start /reporting them now too.

Since there's some questions currently about how to do this.../bump. Also, I use Accarragm drink to do the Fragpuppie buff when I don't have time or inclination to bother with doc buffs.

I'll try that out tonight. I've been having customers wait 6 minutes /w 1 flourish every 8 seconds, and hopefully this will help me half that time.

So do the results of the experiments in the first post mean that there is no difference in active and passivebuffing in terms of the amount of time needed to listen to get the max duration buff? That's the way I read it, which means the Musician Buff FAQ is wrong.

I have a similar for the 30 econd buff that is going away soon. My only difference is that I use three macros.

One like you descrobed with an added line that calls my "pause 40 buff"

/pause 40;/macro dump
which calls the dump macro

/dump;/say done

When all is said and done, I wind up dumping nearly 100 paused commands, but the first buff loop calls the 40 second dump, so after 40 seconds, all macros are dumped.

I drink 2 of the "A..." beverage for action and take a neutron Pixie. this helps a lot if I cannot find a Doc to buff my action pools.

Im a newer Musician and Im just wondering one thing about these buffs... Is using a Chindilaku (sp?) horn the fastest instrument or does the instument for effect the buff?
