Thread: From your Correspondent: inviting suggestions on AFK'ing
The best solution I can see, and I think should probably work the best, is have AFK timers.
Say someone goes into Theed Cantina, starts playing music on a macro, and then leaves but leaves the character on auto. The game should recognise the in-activity after so long, and either disconnect that player, or eliminate that person's experience gain. This would probably be the simplist solution to the entire AFK problem, because then it would force the player to remain active.
I disagrees totally.
I I ever get the good forchune to unlock a jedi I would play that character online when I'm there and run an entertainer in the guild cantina for all the guilds needs for buffs and mind restorations.
IF anything I would argue and suggest the Entertainmnet tree should heal a player's body and action wounds but stimulating the body into repair mode much like sitting in a medical center doing nothing.
Has anyone done a calculation on how long a person would actually have to be at the keyboard "playing" the character to master musician? I got a holo that said musician and the only reason it's not worse than mastering ID now is that it can be run AFK. While holo-hunting musicians will go away soon, if AFK macroing does go away the xp given (or required) should make it so the skill can be finished in a timeline similar to other classes like pistoleer & fencer.

I've been musician for 6 or 7 months, and I'll never change.
The problem of the profession: you can't get fun when you're alone.
It's a REALLY good social job (I'm a famous cantina handler), but having fun alone is IMPOSSIBLE.
Give us fun, and I hope there will be less afks.
Say no to grinding!
