Thread: Sorry, friends...I'm out =(
and another one goes down, one of the few remaining true entertainers. i /salute you for keeping it this long, i know many former master dancer/musician who gave up on the profession.
can anyone else remember the days when you could have a conversation in a cantina? when the dancers would talk to you while they danced? or when there were bands that would play and have a tailor lackey make them matching outfits? i mean, i /tip people if they arent afk and i get slammed with /tells of praise and thanks and offers to bear my firstborn child. i tell em its habit and afk grinders or not, i will pay for their services...
oh well, another noble death by the desire to be a jedi... and people wonder why the emperor wanted to kill em all, i bet he was a dancer before he got into power...

It is a sad day for entertainers on Bria. You're one of the band. There are jerks out there, but why should you let someone else control your destiny. The game is what you make of it. I hope you reconsider, and if not, it's been fun.

I am a Master Musician. I am also a Novice Dancer, and a Novice Image Designer. Entertaining has always been and will always be my favorite part of this game. I have watched the Musician, Dancer, and ID professions degrade from being fun, entertaining, social, and friendly, to what it is now; a wasteland of afk people that never do anything but stand there and play or dance or macro grind ID, they don't even speak except to spam for tips, heals, or someone watching them.
I will say that the entertainer profession has become boring, but only because of players like these, who really do expect something for nothing. No one is going to tip an entertainer who doesn't do anything but stand there and expect to get paid. I, as well as many others, on the other hand, try to chat with our customers and each other, and have a good time, because unlike what some people obviously think, there is more to this game than fighting and gaining experience. Some of the most fun I have ever had was just hanging out in the cantina with some friends, not getting any xp at all, but we still played and chatted for hours and had a great time! That's what thisbusiness is all about. Not getting xp, not healing you, not doing your hair, not doing anything but what WE have fun doing. All that holocrons ever did was ruin it for us. I like to believe that's one of the reasons holocrons are being changed.
If you actually take the time to sit down with a group of about 5 or 6 Musicians and a couple of Dancers, you will be entertained! Why? Well, for one, the music actually sounds GOOD, believe it or not. The devs didn't intend for it to be played by 20 people spamming flourishes every which way. No, band flourishes are there for a reason, and not just to take away your xp by spamming them.
I want to know how a doctor can heal mind wounds? When I'm stressed out after a hard day at work, I don't go to my doctor, no, I come home, I sit down and do one of the only things that helps me relax. I listen to MUSIC!

I'd like to know the name of this particular customer of yours so that I may too add him to my ignore list... I am very sorry to hear that you will not be wearing your master tag... you are one of the first master musicians that I considered a friend... it's really a shame what has happened to our profession... before swg went live the devs were saying that this game would be for the casual player... polarized... entertainers are the very core of social gamers in this game and yet we have been all but ignored... the devs and the rest of the playerbase will never know what marvels all of the social gamers that have quit already could and would have brought to this game, I'm sure they will never return... I have never said that the other professions should not receive any improvements and I am not saying that now; we all know many of the others were severely broken too, but clearly we are at the bottom of the totem pole... and it's really sad because many of us pure socials are there to help others and to promote community yet that community often thinks of us merely as a means to alleviate their battle fatigue or to heal their mind wounds or give them a buff... I do not go into NPC cantinas or taverns anymore... I have not in months... my stomach rolls to see the silent bustle interrupted by the occasional macro asking for tips or heals or healing xp especially when that is the tavern that my char grew up in... I just hope things will return to normal in a few months...

What you say is so very true . . . on the Bria server we created what we call the Cantina Crawl. A group of entertainers get together with about a week's notice on on planet and crash as many player cantinas (and maybe one main cantina) as we can manage and still give quality performances at each one. Sometimeswe found ourselvesin empty cantinas, but we always had fun together - even one that required us to pay an access fee just to perform . . . 
Three-fourths of the funhas always beeninteracting with each other - out loud - and seeing the reactions of our audience. They not onlygot music and dance, they got banter and comedy - a real show. We would draw them into our show and always got great response from our patrons.
Nowa beloved fellow entertainer, the instigator of the group and creator of the Cantina Crawls, is serious considering leaving, as well. Like Lilo, he is not only sick of the lack of concern from the devs, but thelack of consideration by other players who seem to despise the entertainment professions and want to wipe them out- all of them. . . .Why and for what purpose, I don't know and can't fathom, but it will be a very sad day for many of us when this player makes his final bow . . .
