OMG please stop with the crying! it will stop soon give it a week if thisis your biggest problem you are doing ok let me tell you..... try a truly messed up profession like Bounty Hunter, or go work on unarm 4 where you dont get any XP every 4th kill then ill understand. just wait it out it will pass as soon as they get therw this profession. gezzz
It's been many weeks. To me bounty hunter isn't messed up. Why? Because I don't play one. I could care less if a master bounty hunter could be taken out by a novice marksman. This is a game-breaking issue for entertainers, however.

ahhh assumptions.... u know what happens when you assume.... I have an alt who has been unarmed... and btw nothing is wrong with BH so maybe its you who are crying if this was true then it would have already ended but its a problem that has been getting progresivly worse and if you don't think there wont be 10 people to replace the one who just finnished then you sir have no forsight now if you had said try a proffession where the game doesn't allow you to play it anymore and could list one then i would understand but the only ones like that are the entertainers.... maybe if you read some otherposts so you were informed before speaking I would respect you but alas you havent and i cant
I also completely agree with this post. I mastered all three of my entertainment professions ages ago, back when going to the cantina was fun. I started out in the Theed Cantina on Naboo, then moved on to Coronet, and even went to Anchorhead asometimes to play in the small tavern there.
The sad thing I see, is not necessarily the people chasing their Holocrons, but rather, I feel sorry for any new players that choose the Entertainer profession. What must they think when their very first experiences are with large groups of mostly AFK musicians and dancers? While there are no doubt some of these new players who are playing at the keyboard, interacting with the crowd, and developing into real entertainers, I'm sure there are others who become disheartened and leave the profession fairly quickly, and still others that think this is how things are supposed to be, and end up going along with the crowd of AFK people
.
With all of the people that actually perform either retiring and moving on to other things, getting caught up in the frenzy to become Jedi themselves, or spreading out into the player cantinas diluting their numbers across the galaxy, the new players choosing the Entertainer profession who usually end up in the Theed and Coronet cantinasare left without mentors, without examples of how to enjoy being an Entertainer, Musician, or Dancer, and without the experiences of actually playing together as a group (i.e. playing the same song together or formation dancing with bandflourishes, or the other things that can be fun, etc...), putting on a little show for the audience.
From time to time, I visit the cantinas at Theed and Coronet. Sometimes I see brand new Entertainers (you can spot them by their familar shirt, desert crawlers, red dress slippers, and Slitherhorn - the females anyway, I don't remember what the male Entertainer starts off with) who are obviously also brand new to the game (by the questions they ask). It pains me to see them not be able to get into a cantina group because the group leader is either AFK, or the group is just full of mostly AFK players, or when they nicely and repeatedly ask for training in Musicianship I and no one responds, or even worse, when I see them too become (and remain) AFK. ![]()
This is sad, and has taken away a lot of the joy I once had being a full-time dedicated Master Entertainer, Musician, and Dancer.
Something must be done...
Yeah, the holocrons are messing everything up. It is sad to walk into a cantina, and see AFK above all their heads. And it is driving newbs away from the profession, who would want to sit in a cantina and play an instrument all day, because over half of the profession is socializing, thats what makes it fun!
In the movies cantinas where awesom, heck they even were before Holo's, but now they are -DUMP- full of spam.

NewJedi, have hte devs commented on how they are going to fix AFK Entertainers, or do they not care?
your-mama you do not understand the profession of entertainer. that is why you are not seeing our problem.
you said BH is broken. well sure everybody thinks their profession is broken. Our profession isnt broken. i think most people would agree with that. musician is actually one of the only professions that only has little annoyance bugs bothering us.
however that said entertainers GOAL in playing this game is to socialize, and have fun simply chatting with people. BH GOAL is to be in combat killing things. the afk-tainers detroy our profession's GOAL. they swarm our places of gathering, our places of doing what we like to do, our places of fun. They then spam it to heck, and make it so laggy the real entertainers that are there for fun go away.
this afk-tainer problem would be like somebody following you around and killing everything just before you shoot. can you imagine that? you go out to kill nightsisters, and just before you hit the attack button some guy/girl kills them all, leaving you able to do nothing. you go out to kill things for fun. we go to cantinas to socialize to have fun. what would you do if you werent able to go out and kill things anymore?
that sir is our point.

i think all player cantinas do this but we want to play at npc ones as well....
Hahahaha. This sums it up doesn't it?
Ok so you want to be an entertainer, but there are TWO cantinas (coronet and theed) that are bombarded with AFKers. You do not want to be around them. Someone says, hey take your friends to a player cantina its nice and friendly and you can socialize and if an AFKer comes in we will ban them. To me this is a viable alternative. Waaahhhh I don't want to go there I wanna play where I wanna play! Who sounds like a baby now?
Someone else said this is a "game-breaking" issue. Are you serious? Are you so wrapped up in your own little world that you possibly thing that this is such a concern that requires an immediate and drastic fix?
A game breaking issue was when the vendors ate all the merchandise on them and people lost (for a week or so I think) all their wares and some were told by CSRs "sorry".
A game breaking issue is constant server downtime followed by nightly rollbacks (see Bria).
A game breaking issue was when food and drink increased only maximum stats and not current stats for a couple WEEKS, rendering food and drink essentially useless and destroying the purpose of the Chef class entirely.
Want me to go on?
I remember at one point everyone lost their harvesters. Try logging in as a crafter and seeing all your harvesters gone. Its like logging in a combat profession and have no monsters to kill.
On Rori once a whole zone went dead you could not use the shuttle, there were no monsters to kill for miles, and you had to go on foot to the nearest city before mounts and vehicles... even that was not game breaking a major inconvenience yea but not game breaking.
Please try to see past your own selfish desires and don't cry wolf all the time. If you went into a cantina and could not /dance or /startmusic, or you did and you got 0 xp or negative xp, or instrument schematics all disappeared along with every instrument in your inventory, that is game-breaking. Trying to say that people whose playstyle is different than yours and you don't think its right is barely an inconvenience.
Entertain somewhere else or deal with the AFKers, or you know what? Go ahead and cancel.

Here Here Famous. I am totally in agreement.
Just my 2 notes,
You think that's bad in Coronet? Try going to Theed or to Anchorhead. Man the lag is so bad sometimes you can't even move.
