After more than a year of ignoring us and leaving us with broken and unfinished dancesand no new music? I expect them to give us the dance and music, I expect it to work and I expect them to get down on their knees and kiss our hawt-panted butts for it taking so long and being so little. What we are getting, if we ever get it, is too little too late.

You expect them to do that? I do not. I do not expect them to do that in another year. Would it be nice, yes. Do you actually think they would ever apologize for anything like this. Did you notice how long it took them to apologize about the Buff-Bot Badge... and it was not even a full fledged Dev (no offense Pex). You need to wake up to reality!

Your last sentence seems to be saying that whatever they do it will never be enough, which is true really. We will always want more. They will always not have (be willing to allocate) the resources to give us more.

imho

Echinacea, do you have a single SEA for that 25% bonus to musical mind enhancement or a few combined?

I have the fugliest suit of clothes cobbled together with tapes strewn about them, comprised of a bone crest with +25 wound healing from tissues, a tight jacket, an Aa'kuan shirt with +3 musical mind enhancement over and above the standard +10 bleeding resistance, a mercenary bandolier, link steel reinforced gloves, a belt, infiltrator pants and sandals.

Most of my clothing is purple or blue; I decided I'd wear clothes of those colors when colors other than pink and grey became available after launch. The Aa'kuan shirt really throws that off, the cut of the tight jacket leaves a lot to be desired (I was impatient to put the tape into a jacket, and that was all I had), and I really hate how clothing belts look like hula hoops. And the bandolier was a gift from a friend and came with a +5 tape already in it, so I didn't get to pick a color other than black or chose to put it in a sash/shoulder strap, which I would have had I had the opportunity.

If I replace my Aa'kuan shirt with a light bustier I put a +3 fatigue healing (music) tape into, I'm over the +25 cap for fatigue healing, too. And with me being a Twi'lek, that helps. I get comments on how fast I heal, espcially compared to a human buffbot with no healing mods.

I'm anxiously awaiting the quest as you guys are. But, considering how formal and lyrical are, I really, really, REALLY, want them to NOT publish the quest until the new dance does not have the same problems.

Now...of course, whether I think they've had enough time or not is not the issue. But, yes, I want it to be worth something. And, it's only going to be worth something for me as a dancer if the base dance is not broken. I hope that's what they're working on.

Sorry, wasn't able to actually check my stuff when I posted the first rundown:

Sandals +3 ME, +1 BF

Infiltrator Pants, +3 ME, +7 BF

Two Pocket Belt +2 ME, +2 BF

Aa'kuan Shirt +3 ME (+10 Bleeding Resistance)

Tight Jacket +4 ME, +6 BF

LeatherGloves +2 ME, +2 BF

Bandolier +5 ME

Bone Crest +3 ME, +5 BF, +25 WH

Light Bustier +3 BF, +15 WH (I wear this instead of the Aa'kuanShirtwhen I need to heal BF at max)

This is what the buff-suit looks like, along with what my preferred outfit is.

While you are right in that this is the most significant content since the game's release, that's a very depressing thought. After 14 months a profession whose job, whose very definition and reason for existing is playing music gets their very first new song, and we are epected to fall to our knees in bliss and kiss the Dev's feet for it? (yes, I'm exaggerating, I know that's not what you said or meant ).

Well, as for what I expected, I expected the following: I expected to get this one still in 2003, and by this time (fall 2004) I expected there to be at least 5 new songs to play with. Seems I've been disappointed in that, eh? And since I have been, I have to say that the method of delivery is really irrelevant to me as well, but what for it's worth, I think we would be very much in our rights to expect it to be just given to us (although it is kinda nice that we get some new content that will keep us occupied for a bit).

Yes, I also expected four or five new songs by now. The devs never specifically promised that many by this time, but Holocron did once promise that we'd get new songs and instruments "over the life of the game," and I took that to mean ... well, more than one song every fifteen months. New songs and instruments has been the #1 issue in each and every top-five poll I've ever done. (I'm not sure about the current one, but it's either number 1 or number 2.) The devs may not hear everything I say, but they sure as heck have heard this. What's frustrating is that I know a bunch of songs are in various stages of production, but we don't seem ever to get them.

Fragpuppie: As for the quests,I honestly had fun doing them. The fact that you didn't underscores the challenge in creating quests that try to measure how "well" we play our profession. As I've said before, computer AI can measure combat prowess and crafting quality, but it can't measure the quality of an artistic performance, something that is subjective. The quests seem to me a good start given that overriding constraint.

Incidentally, Frag, I'm going to be on TC tonight and maybe this afternoon, trying to get Novice Dancer so I can try the dance side of the quests. I want to assess whether it would be possible to "sever" the quests and push just our song to Live, so that the dance could be worked on. Not that I'll have any meaningful influence on that decision, lol.

While I *very* much appreciate you putting forth the effort to get our stuff in Live (since it seems to beworking fine), I'd rather see us stick together as the Entertainer community always has.

I'd almost feel it unfair to get our new stuff while the Dancers continue to wait.

I'd rather see the Devs put forth the initiative necessary to prioritize this correctly, and get the problems worked out. Had Publish 10 been moved to 10.1, then 10.2, then no one heard another thing about progress on it or what it's status is, people would have torn this game apart.

I know quite a few Entertainers who are very fed up with the fact that not only has this broken stuff sat around months and months, but our new content has been shoved back twice now. And, we've heard nothing from the Dev team as to status or whether they're even fixing the new dance. That's completely unacceptable.

I say we stand strong with the Dancers, and tell the Devs we don't want anything new unless Dancers get something, as well. And we both deserve rewards that are bug-free. Solidarity, brothers and sisters!

Personally, if they implement our stuff before the Dancers get their new (working!) dance, I will refuse to get the new song or even start the quest until the Dancers get their part in.

If they implement the quest with the broken dance, I will refuse to do the quest until the dance is fixed.

Our stuff has beenshovedaside3 times by my count now...maybe more that I'm not remembering.

New songs & dances with the Hutt Casino: Came up in December, to be implemented Spring '04 (delayed until after JTL)
New songs & dances with "newbie droid quests": Came up late Spring '04 (delayed for Jedi Revamps)
New song & dance: Promised for publish 10.2 (delayed for testing & feedback? Also notice the non-plural form now)

*edited to rephrase it better* There is no reason the Devs couldn't have used the 3 months between the original "Entertainer Quests" and now. They could have fixed the dance, polled us about whether or not we wanted a 400k xp cost, etc. We haven't been pushed back so much as we've been shoved aside.

Also edited to remove the spelling error....

Let me qualify a bit. I did have fun the first time I did each of the types of missions. I did also have fun when it was a challenge to do the later performance missions. However, the "advertising" "missions" are a complete bore and the later performance missions are so simple that the only reason I failed one (I did #5 and 7 before I was reset due to the bug then redid 3, 5 and 7) was because I stood too close to the front of the stage and that registered me as not on the stage. I hit satisfied on each of these with between5 and9 cycles of playing still to go. Each about 2/3s of the way through the time.

They are too easy and when its too easy I do not have fun doing the same stuff over and over.

More generally, we've been promised new songs and instruments "over the life of the game." So far no new instruments, and 1 new song in 14 months. Not good.

Well, maybe they count on SWG being active for 10 years or so (*snicker*)... which would work out to 8 new songs/dances if we get one every 14-15 months.
