Well, On my server, i am the highestRanked Musician, seeing as i am the ONLY musician at this point. I have Novice Musician, and Image design 4. I only play in the cantina in the city of mos entha, and there are constantly more people there then there are in the Coroscount cantina. I have made 10-20ka day, somtimes a little more, somtimes a little less. Most of the money i get is from my regulars, who know that if they dont tip me really well, then when they are high level, there will be no entertainers to heal them. With that 10-20k, i buy all the skills i need, and then teach all the other entertainers the skills i have learned. Along withhelping new people to the game with weapons and such, either way, my best advice for getting big tips is

1. Dont beg, dont say "You have to tip me" or cuss people out for not tipping you, tipping is optional, the word tipping is defined as a optional service.

2. Talk and sing. Every day, i play for 7 or so hours, and that whole 7 hours, im talking to my fellow entertainers and everyone listen, we have a blast trying to sing songs together, and the crowd always enjoys it.

3. At the end of every performance thing, Say somthing along the lines of "If u dont tip your entertainers, who will be your entertainers" its not begging, but it does remind people to tip, in a lot of cases, people just forget to tip, and its a nice way of reminding them.

4. when it comes down to really big tips, another trick is to play your little heart out. I have written 6 songs now, one for every Tune i can play. People love hearing them, and when they do, i suddenly get barriaged by tips.

Thats about all i can think of for now, Dont expect to be making 10-20k like me any time soon, im just really **edit** lucky that im the best or somthing

I've found that just mingling and talking to people, that is how I get tips. Or the better ones anyway. I do not ever tell people to tip or even mention anything about tipping. I find it very tacky. People will learn on their own and when they do then entertainers will get more tips. But, the people that recognize me in the cantina always give me tips and some of my better contacts always give me more than average.

Honestly, I do not know how much I make in tips. The text for getting tips is the same color as chat, so it is easy to not see it when your talking and flourishing. At the end of the night before I log, I check my account and I will just notice that I have more money than before.

I picked up the brawler profession so I can run out and do missions as well. This helps a lot and when people see you out there fighting and then doing the entertaining later on, they seem to pay you more respect and tips.

Our cantina in Coronet has been getting bands of 10-15 people during peak periods, and there are just as many beat-up players in there at any given time as well. We make killer xp, so tips are almost secondary, but last night in the first couple of hours I had made enough to buy a couple outfits on the bazar and still had just shy of 3k left over. In talking with a couple of the other better entertainers in our group, they had similar experiences - both dancers and musicians.

I don't know about you all, but entertainers i knoware some of the most broke people in the galaxy. I don't play an entertainer for the tips, and it's a good thing too. I greet then, i'm never afk for more than a few mins, i'm nice and make general conversation and most importantly they get healed. I don't expect a tip ever. in fact most of the time i don't make any money at all.

If you want to make money start up an artisan. or run some delivery missions. Ever hear the term starving musician? get used to it cause that's how you live life in the beginning.

I just discovered a great way to get tips. I jumped over to the docs in the med center, busted out a fewtips and Bam, Tips gallor. I know it's not new, but I think more people should do this. But funny thing is that playing in a med center will give the impression that you are healing, and I had to constently tell people "just enjoy the music, there is a good band playing at the hotel for your healing needs" But picked up a good tips, and the docters liked the unexpected drop in.

I play on the Lowca server and mostly in the Moenia Cantina on Naboo. Its moderately visited. I think the most performers in a group that we've had is maybe 10. Some of those were not primary entertainer profession, just secondary.

you also have to understand that in a male dominated game world, the women are going to get the better tips. The beautiful women are even going to get the better tips. If your not a human, zabrak, or twilek female, you will probably get less tips as well. Why, because the other races female characters are not very appealing.

I spent about 2 hours doing gigs yesterday and made over 5000 credits and it was much eiser than begging for tips, so I suggest you stop living off of tips and start doing gigs.

OK male dancer/musician here... I played for 7 hours yesterday and I got a total... 50 in tips... As a musician/dancer I get jacked due to all the female dancers and the overly increased male population vs female. Also I don't think the tippers realize when they tip they tip a single person not everyone. So when the females I was with both got 2K and I had 50 it hurts... cause I play just as hard as they do... I do my equal share of the work and I get stiffed... it is somewhat annoying...

again like awi said its a goup effort and the whole group has gotta work together and remind the customers that it is a group and to tip accordingly. I don't think its tacky to ask for tips i say thanks for the tips on the way out on a macro tips are greatly apreciated in another and simply if you like what you see you can thank the dancer/ musicians via /tip (player) [amout]... in each of those macros we advertise the Awi Weu dancers featuring: the Famous Fat Wookie Band. It is simply good marketing not tacky. Obviously it works too i had over 30k in tips and am now also averaging 20k a night and awi well she makes more yes... the dancers always make more but thats expected but u as a musician or male dancer can still make lots of money and not have to run missions you simply have to entertain which is a lot of marketing and spectical and friendlyness as awi said it is a very thought out organized effort she runs the dancers and i the band and we always make sure to make a good show. I can tell you its not your area or your cantina or your band because of this simple thing... people who get injured on yavin or naboo or corrilia fly to bestine to hear us while they heal.... if it wast the show then they'd just go to the local cantina. and you can be sure if they pay that just to get to you they will tip you well because the really apreciate your show. you just have to get people to know you as a band/ group and thats effort, teamwork and organizing. well thats all for now... i just want to let u know that. The biggest suggestion i can give is make sure that your band has good rifts and plays as a band ppl who come to see us say... 'you guy's have the bests rifts in the galaxy' its not cause were magical we simply worked on them asked the crowd for input then made them into a workable song that we could vary so they could hear the same song over and over and not get bord of it nor us. Also sometimes u gotta have the low level's sit out if you get a request. IF you allways put on a show u will level fast and make tons and truely be a musician...... yes there are starving musicians but there are also millionair ones too u have to choose which you want to be...

-cheers

you can always find the Awi Weu Dancers Featuring: The Famous Fat Wookie Band at the Bestine cantina on the ahazi server

I started out as an Entertainer, so I have the ability to do these things, now thinking about it, I don't like to dance to tips, you don't get much. I love Gig missions more!
