I have a good following and my group is mentioned often around the planet. I have regulars that don't bat an eye at a 3k tip. One has even financed my training everytime it comes up.

Funny thing is that I have never had to ask for a tip. My regulars to it for me. Many times I have seen on of them shout "Tip Odolo, keep him playing!" It makes you proud to help when you get this type of response.

I agree, remembering when they have been there before and greeting them accordingly, makes them appreciate you more. They see that they meant enough to you that you remembered them. I see the tips get bigger and bigger everytime they return.

True, there are greedy players out there that don't tip, but others notice this and give them heck about it.

Entertainers, keep on playing. We are needed and they are figuring this out. We not only heal, but we seem to know the goings on in the entire city if not planet. They turn to us for our knowledge and pay well for it.

Nobody is arguing that if you advertise and are well organized you won't get tips. What is tacky is having to say TIP anywhere in your text. I mean, come on, if your good enough and well organized like you said, why would anyone need to say.. pls TIP us? That is just tacky.

I do destroy missions... Even with no combat skill I can grab (2) Duni Lair missions out of Coronet and complete them in about 30 mins (roughly 2k credits). The Duni's are slower than you, so I just kite them around.

There is something to be said for playing in a slower cantina as well. Our group has reached 20 people now - it's been about 15 the last few days, and last night we had a solid 20 all night. I got tips from the usual suspects, but since many of us have become friends with the same people even those are being spread around more. I'm not complaining though really, the XP IS AMAZING, Iget my skills for cheap by traveling to Tatooine, and I can survey and make my own instruments, what else do I need money for right?

However, I logged on for a little while this morning and was the only one in the cantina. Everyone that came in tipped me. lol That was only maybe 5 or 6 people, but I made at least 1500 credits for 30 minutes of playing. Of course the xp was a third of what it was last night, but hey, it was a fair trade-off.

I think for everyone it started off slow - no one playing the game had credits - but many of the regulars now remember all those free heals - my take lately:

Great day 15k

Good/avg day 7-12k

Slow (everybody does have a real life out there somewhere) 5k

Very Slow (my fault - didn't spend much time in the cantina - you have to be there to get tipped) 2k

I have never asked for a tip. For me and my band entertainment is a service profession that require alot of subtle people skills. It's just like customer care so basically if your band can ease some stress off the weary travelers and allow them space to rest without getting the feeling of being "haggled" for thips then they usually appreciate that sapce youset up for them and give a nice tip on their way out.

On a great nite some of my band members made 30k.

for me 15k is a great night and for the band we dont really care about tips to really ask since all we want are people to come in watch the show and get us xp for the mastery skill =)

great part about being well known band is you get to meet all sorts of highly skilled [rofessionals thta can get u some perks.

The Problem with tips is, When a non musician person walks into the catina and see's 20ish people playing music or dancing he is usualy overwelmed...So he Picks the Closest or cutest dancer, and the best looking musician to listen too. Now in a band the EXP from this is no longer and issue, but There is no Tip sharing yet...So it turns out the Consumer Either a) Just tips the ones he was watching for lets say 200 each, or b) he Spreads it around to all the musicians he see's and From the musician's perspective some Guy just tipped him 10 creds....

If you are interested in Tips, Got to a Catina where there are very few entertainers and Losts of Hurt players....Endor was aGreat spotin beta....

Think it depends on where your playing as well. Travelling from cantina to cantina, the various cities have been differing. Places like Bestine, Tattooine and Coronet, Corellia will tip much better than 20 people in Theed, Naboo.

I usually at least make bus fare home to Kaadara on Naboo if I bring out the Nalargon. We're still 2-3 weeks in and people just realizing how fast Battle Fatigue goes away with the pros in the band.

One thing I am beginning to dislike is all the tip macros everyone runs. I suppose thats fine, but some people got them running every 3 minutes and it gets real annoying quickly.

Just be proud of what you do, and people will realize your importance in the community.

Keep on rock'n. And get used to Star Wars 1 alot.
