+ NEW instruments ie one other than horn things on offer now, i mean a guitar or banjo etc anything lute etc.
+ I would like the ability to heal BF in camps. I wanted to be able to travel the wilderness as a bardy type character.........
Hi I'm new to the musician field, but this has been what has kept me from it for so long:
Buffs
We can buff only the two substats of a single ham bar. Not cool. Give our buffs to dances and give us theirs. Then we are interchangable, the only difference being that you hear one and see the other.
Number one issue: Buff buggs. I'm a master musician only to buff the char on my first account, and it fails half of the time. After a crash, the buffs are gone, but the timer is still there. After a death, the buffs are gone but the timer is still active. Sometimes, the timer just runs out normally and the buff still cannot be used.
FIX THIS !
1.) Content; More songs (spanning multiple genres)
2.) Smaller Nalargons and Ommni boxes for the miniature musicians.
3.) A more involved instrument customization system. Make our experimentation do something... allow us to color instruments, change their size, anything

4.) Buffing system; Needs improvement. Allow us to buff ourselves. Give us graphical representation of when the buff is in process and allow it to activate over time so that listeners can actually see their mind statistics increasing gradually.
Thanks for this most recent spate of comments and suggestions. Buff bugs seem to be "rising" in my top-five list, and I've been escalating the issue with the devs. I've also created a new stickied buff FAQ in this forum, as well as a post in SWG Discussion inviting comment from non-Musicians on problems with the buff. In that thread, I've also highlighted the issue Monika mentions -- problems getting the buff after some sort of calamity. Monika, I will be responding in more detail on that issue in your "priorities" thread.
I would have to say more songs/instruments/flourishs!
And maybe add a buffer timer to each musician.. like when you /setperform you will get a little clock that counts down, and will tell you and the listener when its done.
give players some reason to go to player owned cantinas besides the fact that they look cool

#2 Player run cantinas need an extra dazzle to make them worthwhile, maybe used in combo with our buffs. Right now the only benfit for someone to stop in is if they are just passing through, the possible healing bonus granted by your city is moot, who cares if they save 30 secs of healing time listening to you in your own cantina, because thats what the bonus just about amounts too. The rp aspect will follow if there actually is a reward to engage them first.
#3 Macro Monsters. This doesn't bother me as much as most musicians I guess, as long as they take the courtesy to step to the side of the stage and do so if they running them afk. If they "fix" this method of macroing they may as well "fix" the sampling macros, and the dozens of other miscellanous profession macros floating about.
#4 Songs/flourishes/instruments would be a nice addition, but I realize in a MMORPG the appeals to thousands and thousands is gonna take a bit o' time to code, record, and test so they actually fit in with whats already established. But sure it WOULD be nice.
#5 Make it where curious idjits who have no musical talent can come up and "use" your nalargon and ommni effectively removing it out from underneath your character making him play in thin air. Its just annoying sometimes.
#6 Bands. Give a better reason for elevated musicians to join a band other than XP and a break in monotony of hearing the same 1 instrument songs they play (as in case of masters). Maybe take the number of entertainers into effect for buffs. Im not saying larger buffs but perhaps the length of time necessary to have it stick fully. (2 master musicians in band using /setperform = 3 minutes for full buff instead of 6, or at least less than 6) That way we can buff more peeps as a team faster, and send them on their merry way, this is especially useful in the group passive buff where you have 3 or 4 masters playing reducing the overall time needed to buff the entire group (20 minutes roughly atm!)this seems to have no affect currently.
#7 I have heard of struggling musicians but hey...wheres the money? These snazzy duds dont pay for themself.
#8 I have crafted crappy instruments and I have crafted amazingly successful instruments...so whats the difference? Can't be too hard to add something to reduce the ham cost on flourishes and lightshows for superbly crafted instruments can it? I wanna be revered for the best finely crafted easily playable slitherhorn known in the galaxy =) AND have the bonuses shown on their info screen. Be nice to wield a mandovial that has a bonus to mind wound healing or some such too.
#9 Musician....no let's get a medic or someone instead, or we will grab a buff before we leave the city. (Sure would like some function out in the field)
#10 Bandflourishes are retarded...cept for the person who did it(music xp)

I really like the idea of instrument variations from crafting. As a master musician I too would like to be sought out for my excellent instruments.
I would also like to see the time it takes to instill a buff reduced. Two minutes for an individual and no more than eight minutes for a group would be great. I don't think this would unbalance anything, but it would reduce downtime. When I'm in a group getting ready to go out, the medic can buff the entire group and recover his mind (and sometimes craft more packs) in well under twenty minutes. The buff duration is reasonable, but I'd like to have some type of active sign/icon/pop-up that lets the players know they are buffed and lets them know when the buff is gone.
I have been a Master Musician for about 3 months. Master Musician is the reason that I started to play SWG. I feel that being aMM ispractically useless, if not only for my own personal desire to keep it.i have had to pick up pistoleer to make any kind of money (or defend myself while I travel).
I know you sayd you didnt want a list... (but)
1. more instruments and songs..
-----a.k.a. more content forMaster... it would be nice to offer something extra, as a master... (besides quick mindheal)
2. There should be a way to heal BF in camps.. with a droid.. or give us special "music" camps to build (only musicians..or masters, even). is lame to be on Krayt hunt in middle of nowhere.. and as a MM, I cant heal bf..
3. should get to play mandi and ceremonial.. is lame to beMM and not be able to play all the songs.. give master ents some other special skill (more ent and less music) .. i dunno, could give em more stuff like spotlight, dazzle, or colorlights... (but then again, if we had a few more songs, they could keep ceremonial)

The ability to untarget the Ommni or Narg.
Biggest gripe... Add the Mandovial to the Musician skill tree, even if it's at master. I feel as a "Master Musician", you should be able to play ANY instrument and ANY song. Maybe add a second cert for the ceremonial and Mandovial at the the master box.
Other then these things, I LOVE being a musician
