Thread: Current Merchant Issues List
-Indene-
P.S. I currently buy the crafters products and resell them. I don't have a lot of paperwork that way but the vendor restock/storage thing has already gotten me below 110 items per vendor.
>>14New FeaturePer Unit Crate/Resource Crate Sales
Resources and to a lesser extent created items in a factory crate can be sold more efficiently if they don’t have to be divided up and removed from the crates. This would allow someone to buy 1 or more Units at a set per unit price without having the merchant determine the specific number of units that can be bought. If I have a 100k Crate of Iron for sale at 5 Credits Per unit the buyer should be able to buy 1 to 100k of those units at 5 credits per. The same should be true of a factory crate of T21 Rifles {Heave Damage Edition}. This would be more efficient for the merchant, the buyer, and perhaps the item database.

This should be shifted up the list quite a bit now, in light of the item limits coming in Pub 10. It will make it easier for us to restock, less pages of items for the customer, and, in the long run, less stressful to the database (one has to wonder if the DBA's for SWG ever heard of indexes).
6 New Feature Directed Sales
Both for customer orders, PA or Factional specials etc the vendors should be able to allow a merchant to place an item up for sale that can only be purchased by the indicated party or group. (e.g. guld:WAH, faction:Imperial, Chataka)
I would again like to throw my vote in on this feature.
This game, like all MMO, and as SOE has always proclaimed, has been about community and working together. I recently had a 'hidden' vendor that my guild uses robbed by a disgruntled ex member. 2 million units of power gone, couple hundred thousand of that 1000 SR otina steel gone, 20-ish heavy harvesters, the list goes on. All because I can't decide who my customers are. Customer support of course couldn't do anything because the person used a legitimate game system to get the items (paid 50k door fee, bought 1.1 million worth of product based on my vendor mails). CSR suggested i use buildings for storage. yeah, that'd be great, except i had probably 2,000 resource stacks, and probaby another 50 pieces of hardware, and another 1,000 crates of finished supplies for the members. That's a lot of lots and building maint. Despite all that, the only reason this was able to do this, is because the devs in their almighty wisdom decided you can't have vendors in private buildings. yet we did before. Oh wait, that was called an exploit because people would lock a vendor in a room and get XP off it. Oh wait, that's right, they fixed how vendor XP was gained. So why not turn private building vendors back on? No reason at all not to do so. I can't imagine it's nothing more than just flipping a switch.
I must admit, I expected this would happen eventually. However, the ferocity of which my vendor was raided was astounding. This vendor was used to sell low cost resources to the guild (1 cpu) and a communal bank for harvesters, factories, other equipment. Most of that's gone. It can be replaced easily, as it's just credits. Most of the hardware is already replaced. But the 1000 SR steel and 1000 CD copper I had on there is gone forever. Probably never see that spawn again.
At every turn they tell us to work together. Yet past every bend, we're hacked off at the legs, with no ability to work together. We all deal with enough BS in our real lives I'm sure. Why we should have to contend with it here and call it 'fun' is beyond me.
But hey, at least we had that Image Designer revamp.
