I'm surprised to see that 's suggestion was never further discussed and didn't make the issue list. Right now the bazaar auction is the most useless game function out there. Last time I checked an auction was a sale to the highest bidder. In SWG "auction" means the sale to the first person who bids 6k, unless the seller withdraws the sale, which the seller always does because the auction is just a scamto get your attention; or "auction" means rummaging through 10 pages of listings on the trade forums.

With patch 10 the entire swg economy is going to be thrown into short termchaos, for better or worse. Removing the cap on the bazaar auction might be a way to mitigate the harsh effects of the changes. It will also be far more convenient for the masses, most of which don't go to the trade forums.

For some reason, Ace4brit's name got deleted from my post. Anyway, he was the first to bring it up on this thread. (page 1)

Well now, everyone is up in arms about the proposed merchant changes, I for one can definately see positives and negatives for both sides. I'm a Master Weaponsmith and have Novice Merchant just to help my small business, now they want to cap item limits on the vendors, 60 ITEMS!!! **edit** are they thinking? I don't have that many items on my vendors but how am I going to be even remotely competitive in already tough market when I have NO viable options to try to sell my items, NO possible way to STORE the quantities of REQUIRED RESOURCES/COMPONENTS that I MUST HAVE to make anything. The effective solution is to store items on vendors, or use every lot for houses for storage so i can't mine my own resources anymore. Delete vendors that aren't being used, cool, think thats great but don't try to up the Merchants and screw every single crafter in the game! If I am forced to sell my goods to a Merchant to re-sell to the public then the ONLY thing you will accomplish is making Smiths poor and Merchants the richest prof in the game, that is BS anyway you look at it. When is the last time a Merchant went planet to planet trying to locate and harvest the best resources for his craftable weapons, NEVER!!!!! Allow single-lot warehouses for just crafters or everybody, whatever, that will get rid of the dead-vendor problem, the "ambience role-player crowd " will still have their cantina "NPCs", give Merchants more realistic perks, mass advertising capabilities in towns, bazaar commercials, strip-mall buildings, bazaar merchant auctions with no $ limits, mini-storage facilities only manageable by Merchants. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!!! With the "proposed" changes that are apparently already in testing you might just destroy the in-game economy. The economy is already in place, radical senseless changes will destroy the crafting professions, which ummmm.......the damn economy is almost entirely based!!! Who really cares though, all the time I've spent cruising the boards the only ones who seem concerned are the players.......flame me, shoot me, just don't nerf me to oblivion!! BTW, sorry I went waaaay off-target, I sure did mean well!

Great list! Just one thing though, how about increasing the time that it takes for things to disappear from the stockroom. One week is just too short especially if you cannot log in all the time. Also, I really like the idea of adding ambiance to the shopping experienceI really like themusicidea and themall. After all isn't that what the game should be about...hopefully the DEVS will like your ideas too!

Just a quick note about handling all that merchandise when and if crafters feel they have to go to a merchant to sell. Fix the vendor restocking problem and make a consignement system. Without those I will turn off my MM tag cause I DONT want to get stuck restocking all that merchandise and I dont want to handle the paperwork to keep track of taking and then selling and remembering how much and when to send to the crafter. This is a game. When I spend hours restocking or trying to figgure out who I might owe it feels like RL and *WORK* grrrr.

-Indene-

P.S. I currently buy the crafters products and resell them. I don't have a lot of paperwork that way but the vendor restock/storage thing has already gotten me below 110 items per vendor.

1. When is this thing going live? If there's still a lot of items on the vendor, will it 'disappear' once this goes live?

2. Does this mean the end of things sold in 'single' quantity?

3. What are we going to do for storage space because like you all know, this game doesn't provide enough storage space for players in the big business of supplying things.

This just forces players to have more than one account if we were to have master merchant and still want to have fun. Removing empty vendors and striking them off planetary map is A GREAT IDEA but the rest just isn't right! I am a doctor with swordsman for some combat, this does not give me enough skill points to learn Artisan III, so what does this mean? No master combat prof for us anymore? Like I said, this only gives us no choice but to create another character for USD15/month.

>>14New FeaturePer Unit Crate/Resource Crate Sales

Resources and to a lesser extent created items in a factory crate can be sold more efficiently if they don’t have to be divided up and removed from the crates. This would allow someone to buy 1 or more Units at a set per unit price without having the merchant determine the specific number of units that can be bought. If I have a 100k Crate of Iron for sale at 5 Credits Per unit the buyer should be able to buy 1 to 100k of those units at 5 credits per. The same should be true of a factory crate of T21 Rifles {Heave Damage Edition}. This would be more efficient for the merchant, the buyer, and perhaps the item database.

<<

This should be shifted up the list quite a bit now, in light of the item limits coming in Pub 10. It will make it easier for us to restock, less pages of items for the customer, and, in the long run, less stressful to the database (one has to wonder if the DBA's for SWG ever heard of indexes).

Strongbow...much of what I buy is resources when accepting offers. I *like* that I get the item in my inventory. Maybe there should be two buttons...purchase for use and purchase for resale to accommodate both of us?

I think 2, 3, and 12 are the most important.

My favorite is 14 though. I think whoever came up with that is a genius.

The list is great. I dont post here often so excuse if doesnt meander some.

Personally running the mall of corellia on kettemoor, Option 3 would be great for those problems that occur from ppl who dont follow thru on there commitment to the vendor. I allow just about everyone who asked a spot in the mall (50+ vendors currently) we currently charge no space rent but do ask ppl to keep there vendors full. when that doesnt happen all I can do is send a email and hope they respond one way or another. Some way of getting that vendor out that is empty or someone who not there for there customers is a great thought to me.

just my 2 cents

6 New Feature Directed Sales
Both for customer orders, PA or Factional specials etc the vendors should be able to allow a merchant to place an item up for sale that can only be purchased by the indicated party or group. (e.g. guld:WAH, faction:Imperial, Chataka)

I would again like to throw my vote in on this feature.

This game, like all MMO, and as SOE has always proclaimed, has been about community and working together. I recently had a 'hidden' vendor that my guild uses robbed by a disgruntled ex member. 2 million units of power gone, couple hundred thousand of that 1000 SR otina steel gone, 20-ish heavy harvesters, the list goes on. All because I can't decide who my customers are. Customer support of course couldn't do anything because the person used a legitimate game system to get the items (paid 50k door fee, bought 1.1 million worth of product based on my vendor mails). CSR suggested i use buildings for storage. yeah, that'd be great, except i had probably 2,000 resource stacks, and probaby another 50 pieces of hardware, and another 1,000 crates of finished supplies for the members. That's a lot of lots and building maint. Despite all that, the only reason this was able to do this, is because the devs in their almighty wisdom decided you can't have vendors in private buildings. yet we did before. Oh wait, that was called an exploit because people would lock a vendor in a room and get XP off it. Oh wait, that's right, they fixed how vendor XP was gained. So why not turn private building vendors back on? No reason at all not to do so. I can't imagine it's nothing more than just flipping a switch.

I must admit, I expected this would happen eventually. However, the ferocity of which my vendor was raided was astounding. This vendor was used to sell low cost resources to the guild (1 cpu) and a communal bank for harvesters, factories, other equipment. Most of that's gone. It can be replaced easily, as it's just credits. Most of the hardware is already replaced. But the 1000 SR steel and 1000 CD copper I had on there is gone forever. Probably never see that spawn again.

At every turn they tell us to work together. Yet past every bend, we're hacked off at the legs, with no ability to work together. We all deal with enough BS in our real lives I'm sure. Why we should have to contend with it here and call it 'fun' is beyond me.

But hey, at least we had that Image Designer revamp.
