Tiggs posted some information about a new vendor searching system over in this thread.
Please use this thread to post your feedback on it and I will point the devs toward it.

Auto-retrieve going away still doesn't address the problem with one-stop remote shopping.
I may as well put one vendor up in an otherwise empty house with every item I sell on it.
Any ability to buy the item remotely makes this a bad idea and listing the prices will only serve to benefit undercutters.
1- I agree 100%. My town worked so hard to get our mall "just so" and we try hard to please everyone that walks n the door. Listing the prices is a horrible idea. I'm assuming that since this going to the test center they are going to implement this no matter what we say and how loud we say it
2- I worked hard to get my chef items to where they are at. Only being a 11 point means bye-bye sales because I will not be able to compete with the other chefs out there who are 12 point, have a BE friend who makes their additives for them for free, cross server lots which means lots of factories and can mass produce easily.
3- Bye to the multi player part of this game. The more changes they are making are turning this game into a game where you dont need to join a guild, make friends, depend on anyone. Need to do the vette? Just hang out near the spawn point and a group will form out of necessity, not due to people helping people as groups who form attachemnts.
Sigh.. Hello WAL-MART byebye little shops aound the galaxy.

I think system is great additon and if people do not like it they have option of turning off the function and people would have to goto your shop then. they had this for a short time in orginal beta happy to see they finally putting it back in woot woot
The problem will be with the vendors who have it turned off. They might as well create a new toon as no-one will shop at their vendor.
How would you feel if they left the ability to see an item (like it would be on your vendor) on the bazaar and get a waypoint to the vendor that was selling said item, but you couldn't purchase it because there was no price listing? Maybe ad a "reserve" function that would hold the item for 15 or 20 minutes so you could get to the shop to examine the price and maybe buy it?
At first I thought this was an awesome change...then you step back and look at what it does to someone else's profession. Reminds me of how our Spices line was decimated by the Chef revamp and Doctor buffs
I agree, and I'm not a merchant, never was, never will be, and liked the miner-class better, but I agree 100% with this.

The following is my "as a player" opinion:
I disagree with any system that allows a player to see my prices or retrieve their items without visiting my vendor in person.
Being able to comparison shop from a central location will only favor those players who for one reason or another can afford to undercut everyone else.
Secondly, a significant portion of my business comes from people who look around while they're in my store and see other things they may not have been specifically looking for.
This "impulse buying" is extremely valuable to me as a merchant.
However, the ability to see *IF* something you are looking for is on a specific vendor and get a waypoint to go shop there is a very good idea.

Question -
WIll cities still get the tax revenue from the sales? How will cities compensate for the loss in traffic through their shuttleports.
I like the idea from a shopping perspective. Its pretty darn handy.
But in EQ2 - you can buy from the broker or go directly to the vendor. If you go directly to the vendor you pay the vendor price, but if you buy from the broker you pay an extra 20%.
Maybe they should add that as galaxy tax. Buy from the bazaar for 20% higher - or go to the vendor and get it for less.
Yet again, it appears as if people are missing one very big point in the whole process - it's NOT just searchable from the Bazaar - It's searchable via our Vendors as well. It's all well and good to make a 20% fee as a "Galaxy" tax for purchasing - But yet again, the person who owns a vendor that someone is using to buy Another crafer's goods is not getting compensated for being a purchase interface.
What is going to be the impact to the cities?????

Don't assume that.
The trick is to now say it in a constructive manner so that the developers can be made to understand what a blow this would be to our profession and give them reason to re-think their plan.
Ultimately, this is their game and they will do what they think is best to move it forward.
Our task is to show them that this will do more harm than good to a substantial number of the player base..
