Thread: TERMINAL vendor workaround
Hey just another success/confirmation.
If you initialize, quickly click and hold on the vendor and initialize again. It has worked for me every time.
Create vendor.
Drop.
Rotate.
Logout and take a break.
Initialize vendor and forget about the magic mouse crap.
Leave building.
Enter another building.
Come back to your building.
Vendor is completly initialized with none of the magic mouse crap.
I didn't try another without logging in and out. It could work by just leaving the building or just logging in and out.
I spent an hour with the other methods before I tried my own. If someone wants to confirm or optimize this method, feel free.
OK FINALLY I HAVE GOT THE VEDOR TO WORK.
I USED THE QUICK CLICK METHOD AND IT WORKED THE FIRST TIME. HOWEVER, I MUST SAY THAT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT SWG PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIX THIS BUG. MAYBE INSTEAD OF REDUCING STAFF DURING THE HOLIDAYS THEY COULD HAVE FIXED THE VENDOR BUG. BECAUSE THE LAST TIME I CHEKED WE DO PAY TO PLACE THIS GAME. AND TIME IS MONEY, I WASTED A HELL OF ALOT OF TIME MESSING WITH THIS BUG. THANKS AGAIN SWGGLAD TO SEE MY MONTHLY FEE IS GOING TO MY GAMING EXPERIENCE.
i have tried everything and i can not get my vendor to work. this is absolutely retarded. i dont even want to do this skill however it is required by my holo. i have spent 8 hours dropping intializing and destroying vendors over and over again someone needs to fix this problem is there anybody with any suggestion on how i can get around this bug
regards
really ticked off in shadowfire
I was on test center last night doing some testing on a number of things (There was an AT-AT on Talus for a controled test..pretty interesting) anyway while I was on the server I tried to duplicate the vendor initialization error which I have duplicated there many times over the past few months. I couldn't duplicate it. Can anyone else confirm this? ANyone have a character on TC they can try to get the initialziation error on?
I do if you have a house I can be added to admin. I let my house burn. :-(

Hmmmm.. Well I was hoping for different locations but I can put my house down. Do you have a character on TC already?
I was having this problem as well, but things went from bad to worse. I wasn't able to get my first vendor to initialize so I decided to give it some time. I went hunting and while hunting the server crashed. When I finally came back on my vendor had poofed. I figured that the downage had erased the vendor. I was wrong. The game tells me I have the maximium amount of vendors and I need to fire one to make another although there is no vendor anywhere and I'm gaining no experience. I can't make a new vendor.
I put a ticket in around Christmas and I'm still waiting. If it wasn't for the kindness of a guildmate letting me use a vendor I'd leave the game.

I wouldn't let your ticket sit there without adding comments to it. I always remind them after a few days that I"m still waiting. Usually the CSR's can fix the invisible vendor issue. Sometimes you have to remove your house for it to get fixed from what I understand.

Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I won't need to re-deed my house....it's a PA hall we're using as a Mall!!
Yea..unfortunately I think that has been the case. I am not sure what happens to the vendors in this case but my recollection from the past is that they were asked to redeed the structure and then the CSR did something on their end and the vendor slot was free again. But the first step is getting a CSR.
lol, yet one more way to add to the list of workarounds, but i swear it was the only way i could get vendors to work for me (both bulky and robot)
Create vendor
place vendor
rotate almost to direction desired, need to have one rotation from radial left to do
initialize vendor
VERY quickly (like so many other workaround suggestions), open radial on vendor so you see the vendor menu, and the rotate menu once again
make last rotation (even though you're not supposed to be able to rotate once initialized)
open vendor from radial
hope this makes sense. i really hope this helps someone as well
basically what i'm saying is really really know nad understand rotating items in your house from the radial menu, and not the /rotate command
one quick note to elaborate: say i want a robot vendor near a wall, and i want him facing the room, not sideways, or face to the wall......i drop the vendor, he's facing the wall when dropped. rotate him once left, then initialize, VERY quickly open radial again, and rotate left once more.....now he's facing outward, not sideways, and he *should* be initialzed.
once in a great while some of the other ways listed have worked, but i have most success with this method
