Thread: TERMINAL vendor workaround
In case anybody else is still having problems with this, I might as well recount my own story...
I was trying to place a droid bartender vendor in my house. And I had heard that there was some problems getting this to work... But naturally I assumed everyone else was just being dumbasses
That is until i found myself among the dumbass crowd ![]()
So then my first instinct was... Ahhh! I'll check the forums... After a number of unsuccessful searches, I stumbled across that stickied thread at the freakin top of every page on this forum and began testing methods from A-Z with no success what so ever! ...Until!!! ... I found the one that worked!!!
So as far as I am concerned here is the foolproof (or dumbass proof if you prefer) method to get yer vendors going...
Go to the Structure Management Terminal and pick up your vendor... Name it whatever suits yer fancy...
Drop the sucker and rotate him to yer pleasin...
Click on the vendor and initialize it...
Pause 0; (ie. as fast as you freakin can!!!)
Click on the vendor and use it...
You should now be staring at your vendor screen and asking yourself... OK Great ... NOW WHAT! ![]()
Well That is where I am right now... And I seem to have encoutnered a little problem as well... I was lookin at the perty new screen and sold an item or two (nothin huge... just a crafting tool to test things out) and then I went over to the stockroom... at the bottom I saw it saying something about downloading data... downloading data... etc... ie. the little bar was flashing... So I says to myself, self, we should close this and reopen it, that will stop the bugger from downloading data... Ohhh how wrong self was... Now I open the little fugger up and all I see is, initializing vendor... initializing vendor... intializing vendor... etc...
So now, I'm thinkin i'll just delete the bastage and start over again...
Well Cheers guys and many thanks to the dude who said to init and quickly click him again... Worked like a charm!
Not sure if something was hotfixed or not but whatever it is it's done the trick for me atleast.
my vendors never ever initialize on the first try... my solution?
I create the vendor, log off, log back on
drop the vendor, log off, log back on
position the vendor, " "
init the vendor, do a rain dance and play a song for it (I'm Master Musician and M. Entertainer
)
" "
use the vendor... and it works
/sigh
the things we have come to

None of these have worked for me either. I do not know what to do now.
