Thread: Annoying Customers you want to throw in the Sarlacc Pit
How did i ever miss this thread!?!?![]()
ok, got one for ya'll -had to dig up the thread from the server back when it happened -see if anyone can top a suicide threat:
A little background... I had been a Master AS for a while at this point (this story's a few months old - but i still have the log!) - long enough for there to be a few more masters on my server to help balance the load ... I started doing custom jobs in addition to the vendors ... i.e. someone would set up an appointment and i'd make the armor while they waited. Well, this guy had his appointment, got his armor, and apparantly didn't like how the slice had went - i'd been hearing from him alot; hounding me for another appointment.. but i had waiting lists 2 weeks long back then.. well, anyway, suffice to say he'd already annoyed me, i'm not usually this crabby:
Faob tells you, 'WHEN WILL THE COMP ARMOR BE IN THE VENDO'.
You tell Faob, 'NEVER!! I'VE RETIRED!!!'.
Faob tells you, 'YOUR F
CKING KIDDING ME'.
You tell Faob, 'Nope.. im done.. in the process of packing... moving to rori to set up a PA... i'll just make armor for them'.
Faob tells you, 'COME ON'.
Faob tells you, 'JOIN MY PA THEN'.
Faob tells you, 'IDA'.
Faob tells you, 'there really cool'.
You reply to Faob, 'Nah.. this is gonna be my own pa'.
Faob tells you, 'F
CK MAN'.
Faob tells you, 'CAN YOU MAKE ME A LAST SET'.
You reply to Faob, 'ANTI-FAOB ... good name eh?'.
You reply to Faob, 'ROFLMFAO!!'.
Faob tells you, 'THIS ISNT FOR SH
TS AND GIGGLES MAN'.
You reply to Faob, 'What's it for then? lol'.
Faob tells you, 'ive been begging you'.
Faob tells you, 'ill pay you another 250k creds'.
Faob tells you, 'plz man'
You reply to Faob, 'You and the rest of the server'.
Faob tells you, 'omfg'.
Faob tells you, 'oh no'.
Faob tells you, 'plz'.
You tell Faob, 'plz what?'.
Faob tells you, 'make me the set it will be the last thing i ever ask for'.
You reply to Faob, 'Omfg'.
Faob tells you, 'dude'.
You reply to Faob, 'You really want composite?'.
Faob tells you, 'yes'.
You reply to Faob, 'Then get artisan, start grinding to armorsmith, THEN make master - 'cuz that's the only way you'll get composite on this server after i blacklist you'
Faob tells you, 'you dont understand'.
Faob tells you, 'whe my set got f
cked'.
Faob tells you, 'i wanted to f
cking kill myself'.
Faob tells you, 'but now i got family issues and im not kidding'.
/addignore faob
....just a snippet of a day in the life of a master armorsmith..
I personally really like the idiots who say my stuff is priced too high and it will never sell. Two days later they buy it from my vendor.![]()
I even had one obnoxious BH tell me that my Droid vendor had the prices so high that they would never sell. When I replied that I sold out of droids about every 2 days, she bout out my entire supply of seekers and probe droids.

I had another last night
I'm at Theed bazaar, I'd just stopped by to pick to stock up). In front of my this guys says
"Do you know what GP modules are?"
So I told him I did (I'm master artisan) and then asked him what he wanted to know
"Do you know what GP modules are?"
err yes I just told you
"How do I make them?"
I ask him if hes a Master Artisan
"No, I'm an Architect"
So I tell him he cant make them because you need to be a master Artisan
"Can you make some for me" (I realise at this point I have my master artisan title up)
I didnt have the parts on me so I told him, I then went on to tell under which 2 catagories on the bazaar he can find them (electronics components and factory crates)
He turns to face the bazaar, and silence begins. No 'thanks for the info' nothing nada
So after about 2 mins (just in case hes typing a real long sentence) I tell him its rude to just walk off in the middle of a conversation and I turn to leave for the starport
I buy my ticket, get back to tatooine and then get the following /tell
"I cant find any"
and I'm then stood thinking to myself, and? so? what do you want me to do about it? Some people in this game have ALOT to learn about the value of other peoples time, the value of information and the fact that you have to get off your butt and do your own work in the big wide world because no one else has to do it for you or owes you anything.....
There was a PA member who contacted me to make them swoops. I met with their rep, who turned out to be their (then upcoming) mayor. We worked out a deal, but he never finalised the deal after 3 mails and numerous tells, even after I'd reworked the deal more in his PA's favour. By this time I'd had ppl mining the material for me (which was a lot for me then), so in the end my overhead got so high I decided to cut my losses. 3 mails, and only 1 reply about him needing to get confirmation from his "higher ups".
Bum deal, but /shrug, nevermind, look on the bright side, tons of ore. Point being, I had a bad impression of the rep and the PA in general, but not so bad that I wouldn't still do business with the other PAs.
Some time later, after a surveying mission, I happened to be waiting at their PA shuttleport. 2 members of this PA happened to be there as well. One of them was apparently having trouble with his swoop (don't ppl ever repair their vehicles?) and his friend suggested that he "ask the artisan". Nvm that my name, alongside my title, is displayed above my head, but I say nothing. Eventually he asks if I could sell him a swoop. I said certainly, and named a price.
He made an exclaimation at the quote, and asked if I could fix his swoop instead. I told him that no, I can't fix his swoop. By this time, my shuttle had arrived, but I decided to wait this one out a little longer. So he agrees to buy it. Open trade window, drag the deed, and he goes, "what's that?"
"That's a deed. You doubleclick it and it will become a speeder," I say.
About half a minute passes by and he goes,"Where do I enter the money?"
I say, okaaay, and began to describe the credit value input box as simply as I could. He tells me, "I don't know how to enter the money."
He's wearing several pieces of armour, he has a (broken) swoop, so I have to assume that at one point of time or another he would have had used the trade window. Fishy feeling started here. I close the trade window and say, "Do you want to buy it or not?" By now, I REALLY didn't want to miss my shuttle. But the next, really got me by surprise.
He said,"fI WILL KILL YOU." This is verbatim.
I replied, "Just try it," and hopped onto the shuttle.
No follow-up threats, no dire mails, but I was a little peeved. A chance encounter the next day at a shuttleport in a major city saw him "conversing" with some of the bystanders (I caught the tail end of some very rude remarks), when he saw me come by.
"Hi, nossi," he said. "Can you sell me a swoop?"
Lol, he actually remembered my name. "Sure, you know my price."
"How much?"
*rolls eyes* nevermind. I was about to repeat my quote when one of the harrassed bystanders sent a /tell to me. "You're not going to sell to that **edit**, are you?"
/wicked grin.
I told him,"For you, 45k because I haven't forgotten about how you said you'd KILL ME." He left, quickly, and not a peep out of him.
I wish I'd kept the autolog on then.

Ok, I got you all beat.
Yes I'm a holo whore and i HAD to do this profession. So I announce that im openeing up a store selling all my rare drop and meds. This guy comes in, granted 11 minutes after my post, and I have sold over 500k worth of stuff before he got there. So he tells me "im not happy."
I had krayt stuff for sale pretty cheap and sold out before he got there. Not only does he whine at me online, then he goes to my forumn announcement and tells everyone to not waste there time by going to my shop. Completely trolling me because i sold out of my drops. I tell him I will get more tomorrow, but thats not good enough, he wants it now.
And the kicker? he's a master merchant/weaponsmith.
Some people...

Just thought I'd add another. As a power broker I sell power and it always sells out. I raised my price (doubling it) to try and keep it instock. One of my bigest customers bought out my entire stock at the new increased price, and then sent me a long email on how what I did was not fair and that I had lost a customer and that he would never buy from me again. I went on vacation and forgot about the incident. My generators keeped working while I was gone till the fusion shifted. I put all I had on my vendors at 1.5 CPU. Looking through my emails I find that he came back andbought out my entire stock again.
1.5 CPU Draznar you thief!!!!!!!
If you were on starsider I'd buy you out too.![]()
What I think is the funniest really is that as a Master WS/Arty and nearly Master Merchant people just don't realize that I leave my house rarely, and when I do it's generally to do harvester runs/move harvesters and not so much for delivering product. ![]()
Some customers, just need a compass though.
NeedsDirections: U online?
Me: (uumm.. hello? Searchable much?) Yes, how can I help you?
NeedsDirections: U make weapons?
Me: (nope, I'm a Image Designer in disguise) Yes, is there something you're interested in?
NeedsDirections: Want ur best pistol.
Me: (warning sirens) Well if you take a look at my vendor at (-XXXX, XXX), near Tranquility &Theed, you can see everything I have in stock and pick out the one that best suits your playstyle. I'll email the waypoint.
NeedsDirections: Oh. Okay, I guess.
(back to crafting I go... 40 minutes pass)
NeedsDirections: Dood!! There's nothing there.
Me: I'm sorry? I'm actually in my shop right now and I can tell you that every gun is in stock. I just checked it actually.
NeedsDirections: I'm at XXXX, -XXX and there's nothing there, no shop no nothing.
Me: I think you've got the coordinates reversed, it's -XXXX, XXX. Check the waypoint I emailed you.
NeedsDirections: Oh.
(10 minutes later)
NeedsDirections: F
ck you man, there's nothing at XXXX, XXX either. You suck!
Me: (debates /ignore braves it out) You've still got the wrong coordinates, save the waypoint from the email. It's -XXXX, XXX near the Player City of Tranqulity. If you shuttle there I'm just a brief walk out of town.
NeedsDirections: F
ck you man, you're just messing with me.
Me: (goes back to work)
Ten Minutes Later: 'NeedsDirections has purchased DH17 Carbine for 2000 credits from your vendor Jasmine: Standard Weapons'.
Oy.
The annoying ones though I think I can lump in three categories:
1: Your time is valueless (i.e. Please deliver this CDEF pistol to Lok for 350 credits, or please stop crafting to give e the stats on every weapon you build).
2: Why'ners: (i.e. Why can't you make bowcasters, why isn't your factory faster, why'd they nerf the FWG5s why can't you put a krayt tissue in a melee weapon).
3: My new Sarlac Inductee: The reseller. I'm okay with the buying & selling thing, it's what non-crafter merchants do, but clearing out a run of items on my Vendor? Not so cool. /tell'ing me that I should just be offering weapons in crates so you can buy them because I'm just your wholesaler? Not cool at all.
Something i've noticed lately...
Customer: Can you make me a (Weapon)?
Me: Sure just a moment.
(Makes weapon while the customer asks endless questions about stats)
Me: Ok I've placed your new weapon on my special orders vendor.
Customer: Wow that's pretty expensive.
Me: Well I use only advanced components in my weapons, it's as good as they come non-krayt and unsliced.
Customer: Ok cool, this weapon is gonna be great thanks.
(Buys weapon and leaves)
one hour later
Customer: This weapon sucks!
Me: Excuse me?
Customer: My friend says it's not uber he has one that is uber that does 10 more points of damage.
Me: Did you get your's sliced?
Customer: No not yet.
Me: Well there you go.
Customer: Ok
(another hour later)
Weapon is offered to my vendor, at the same price i sold it at, with 200 points missing from it's condition.
This happens to me maybe 3 times a week. I'm not blockbuster, I don't RENT weapons. I SELL weapons.... Does anyone else have customers who treat them like their local blockbuster?
Yea I had a guy hound me for HOURS about this stupid weapon he bought from me used..then damaged it trying to repair it. Then wanted his money back because he meant to buy a different gun.
His rationale was that I should give him money becaue he worked hard earning it in the game and I just earned it by sitting around selling weapons that I didn't even make.
He didn't seem to understand the "I can't sell this to anyone else now because you've damaged it and I don't get them for free" arguement.
I think I ended up giving him a third of his credits back just to shut him up. I should have banned him from the store and put him on ignore.
If I could remember his name I would do it now.. course he probably quit two months ago.
"I put all I had on my vendors at 1.5 CPU"
I'd buy you out and re-sell it. ![]()
I've basically given up on vehicles and I'm now completely a resourcemerchant.
OneNight on Naboo:
Customer: How much for a vehicle?
Me: Well, I only have thislandspeederleftand it's xxx credits.
Customer: What's wrong with it?
Me: There's nothing wrong with it. I used good quality materials and got 71% experimental durablity on it.
Customer: The steel to make it costs more than that.
Me: I'm a resource merchant soI don't have tobuythe resources.
Customer: There has to be something wrong with it if you're selling it that low.
OneDay Later on Corellia:
Customer: Can you sell me a vehicle?
Me: All I have on me is a landspeeder (the same landspeeder as before).
Customer: How much?
Me: xxx credits (same amount as before).
Customer: OMFG! Your prices are so high! I can get it for less at <some> shop.
Me: You're welcome to go buya vehiclethere then.
I ended up using the landspeeder as my vehicle for awhile before I sold it to someone (for the same price) who was thrilled with it.
I had my first one today. I'm a Master Artisan / Novice Architect (think I may dropArch though) and I sell mostly raw resources and vehicles right now.
Now, I also have a second toon on the same server, and I run two instances of the game on the same machine. I frequently alt-tab between characters to maximize my play time.
Sooo...while I'm out doing a quick run with my combat guy, some smacktardhas been spamming my crafter with /tells every, oh, 10 seconds or so.... "how much fore a swopp?!?!!" (I think I may have spelled that right. Or wrong. Or whatever.) I forgot to throw on my AFK tag that one time - never, everagain.
When I click back over to my crafter, I see all this. OK...deep breath, and reply...
Me: First and foremost, please relax. I am busy at the moment and do not always watch my chat window when I am working. Second, you can have a swoop for 75,000 credits.
(notice that I did not say I sell them for that
)
Him: oh thats a lot nm
End of conversation.
This one small but annoying incident has prompted me to 1) go non-searchable, and 2) place a sticky note on my monitor frame with the letters AFK printed in very big, bold black letters. This is to remind me to change my status when I leave the character unattended for any reason. ![]()
AHHH!!! It happened again lol
Customer: Can you make me 2 carbines.
Me: Sure I'm sold out of them right now but I'll make them special to you.
Customer: Thanks I've looked everwhere and can't find them.
(2 min. later)
Me: Ok both are done, using advanced components and 98% speed/damage experimentation.
Customer: How much? (Complete sentences do not exist in a galaxy far far away)
Me: 80k for the set of 2.
Customer: xxxxxxxx is selling them outside Coronet for 10k.
Me: Well then I would suggest you buy from him if you can find a smith willing to sell the same quality weapon for 1/4th the price.......I thought you said you couldn't find them anywhere?
Customer: Well I will buy his, you must hate making money. Thanks for wasting my time.
Me: (Quick trip to Burger King to avoid throwing my computer out of the window)
