Thread: Annoying Customers you want to throw in the Sarlacc Pit
.......wait a second.......
I have been on the other side of every one of these conversations!
.....................................
........so when am I gonna get that Composite Set for 30k?...........
hello?
Ok, I'm extremely new to crafting, I'm much more of a fighter/mission runner, but I figured wth, I'll give it a try.
I started touring the cities with my Master Doctor offering buff services, everyone knows the power of Doc buffs, highest I've hit so far is 2800, however, not everyone knows that the actual buff amount is random.
A few hours ago I got this outside coronet...
Idiot: wil u buff me?
Me: Sure, my prices are 1.2K per stat buffed, or 6k for an entire set(bearing in mind that these are 800+ power packs)
Idiot: um, cant i hav them4 free?
Me: I wish I could, but the resources and time required to make the packs mean I have to charge to make it worth my while.
Idiot: you!![fuhzee buhnee]thats [ahem]you don't need 5h1t to buff its a doctro skill.
Me: Using the packs is a Doctor skill, I still need to make them, and thats an expensive craft, and please don't swear at me, I have children around that don't need to see that.
Idiot: [Yells] DENE' IS A F!@KIN THIEVE HE TOOK MY MONEY AND DIDNT BUF ME
Idiot proceeds to run around Coronet for 5 minutes yelling about how much I thieved his money, neglecting to notice that 90% of Coronet was buffed with my buffs and already knew I was an honourable dealer lol, I think he probably made more than just my /ignore list today lol
Ahhh.. I forgot to add'the refunder' to my list.
There seems to be a lot of that going around, too.
Refunder: Hi! I bought a flamethrower from you last week, and I bought a new 'advanced' one today, will you buy yours back?
Me (should've known better): Well normally I don't rebuy weapons that I've sold, but if you haven't gotten a chance to use it....
Refunder: I used it for a while, but it's at max condition now, I got it repaired a couple of times. The slice I got just wasn't so good.
Me (stunned silence as I contemplate buying a sliced & broken weapon):
Refunder: So I'll offer it to your vendor for 1400 less credits okay, 200 per day?
Me (sitting in my workshop): I'm not going to be by my workshop vendor for quite some time, you might be better off trying to sell it to another player. Be sure to let them know it's been repaired a few times. It's probably not worth alot but you might find someone willing to buy it just to have one.
Refunder: Oh, thanks...
Me: No Problem.
-----
I'd like to 'rent' a lot of 11 Krayt tissues, and give back the schematic to build 990 ABPHs when I'm done... it'll only take me an hour or so, shouldn't be more than 100 credits right?
this thread just keeps getting better and better. ![]()
had this entertaining conversation the other day.
C - (walks into my shop) "You a weaponsmith?"
m - (quick check of my title) Um, yep. Master weaponsmith.
C- what do you make?
M - (thinks Freakin' cookies pal. I'm the martha stewart of the weapon world) Um, Weapons.
C - Which ones?
m - (a bit annoyed now) all the ones on the vendor you are standing next to.
C - I need a good one.
M - yep. We all do. Pick one out on the vendor.
C - these cost too much.
M Feel free to not buy anything you think is overpriced.
C - I'm gonna find cheaper stuff. (then he buys my 10k cdef pistol i use as a message/information holder and leaves)
I guess sometimes it pays to put up with stupid people.
ok yesterday i finally snapped...
Customer: You a weaponsmith?
(Master Weaponsmith tag over my head)
Me: Yup how can i help you?
Customer: Do you make good weapons?
Me: No
Customer: No?
Me: No I only sell over priced pieces of crap.
Me: I enjoy taking advantage of characters, none of my weapons are "good" but i love getting a lot of money for them anyways.
(long pause)
Same Customer: Can you make a non-krayt scatter that is more uber than my krayt one, mine's broken.
Me: I have to take a piss, I'll get back to you about that.
A little background: About week two of being a master tailor, I decided that I would only ever take special orders via mail. I don't like standing about in my shop all the time, waiting for people to walk in and say: Can u make cloths?, and then spending the next hour trying to set them up. I do actually do things other than sit around in my shop and ait for people to come in and order things. To that end, I set up a very nice macro reply to anyone who asks me if I can make 'cloths', telling them exactly how to put in a special order, where they will pick it up, and how long it will be. It has kept me sane to say the least. Most people are very polite and understanding.
I always keep my vendors (two outlet stores, one main shop) incredibly well stocked, even with statted clothing in matching colors so that people can purchase whole outfits without having to ask me to make them. There are two things that I never make, though: Bandoliers (because people don't always know that they conflict with backpacks), and Necklaces (because you can't look at them while shopping to know if you'd actually like it). Those are special-order only.
But some people will just never get it....
C: (presumaly standing outside of my shop on Corellia): Do u have cloths with defensive stats on them at your Coronet shop?
M: (somewhere on Tatooine, distributing free santa hats): I believe I just restocked that vendor with a bunch of stuff with stats. You'll have to look.
C: Anything with defensive stats?
M: (why don't you LOOK?!): I'm pretty sure I put some on there, you'd have to look.
C: Are there bandoliers on the merchant?
M: (good GOD): No, I don't make bandoliers except by special order.
C: How do I get one?
M: (hits f-key corresponding to 'special orders' macro)
C: oh. I'll look at the merchant.
Some time goes buy, and the guy purchases two pieces of clothing off of the vendor with the very stats that he was looking for. I figure, okay ... he's gotten what he wants.
A few days later, some bright bulb decides to place a city not 800 meters outside of Coronet encompassing my shop there, and without telling any of the dozens of merchants set up in that area that she intends to do this. Incensed, I find an even better location to put the shop, and move it to that better location /outside/ of this new city.
It isn't too far away, actually, right at the building border, and very easy to find. I adjust all of the information I have around pointing to the outlet stores to reflect the new waypoint and forget about it.
Yesterday, I get a tell out of the blue while I'm in the middle of hunting with a friend, from the same guy as above:
C: You don't have any bandoliers in Corellia? Do you have them elsewhere?
M: (Didn't I already explain this to this guy?) I don't have any bandoliers anywhere. Special orders can be placed and picked up at my Tat shop.
C: No, your Corellia shop is gone.
M: Oh, I moved it. It's not too far away from the first one.
C: Is there a bandolier there?
M: (Ready to pull my hair out): No, I don't make bandoliers except by special order.
C: I'd like one with defensive stats.
M: You'll need to place a special order, I'm currently hunting.
C: Oh, I thought this would work.
M: It will, you just have to place the order.
C: Oh, okay, I'll send mail.
M: Great!
*beep-beep You have new mail*
The mail, of course, does not contain any of the information I need save for that he wants 'a bandolier' and he wants it to have defensive stats on it. I sigh and go about my hunting.
C: Did you get that?
M: Yes, I did.
C: How long will it be?
Of course, you know, I just sit around and wait for people to tell me to make stuff for them, and then make it. I don't have anything better to do.
M: 24-48 hours.
No response.
I've also had a score of people get to that point, even though I've already TOLD them how long it will take in my macro-reply, and then say: I'll pay you 5K extra to make it faster. Right, like I'm going to drop EVERYTHING that I'm doing, ignore every OTHER special order in my inbox, and run back to my shop to make you that cloak that you just HAVE to have RIGHT NOW. When I tell them that I don't take extra money to make orders go faster, and that there's a reason behind doing that, I get 'Well, fine, then I'll go to another tailor who will do it faster', to which I reply 'You're welcome to. Thank you.'
This is not McTailor's.
Not customer-related, though annoying for sure, I had another issue last night. Me and my friend were running about various places in the middle of nowhere on Tatooine. Due to previous irritations, I've taken off my Master Tailor tag, and have on my Master Merchant tag.
Out of the blue, literally in the middle of nowhere, I get a tell:
C: can you teach me business 4 plz?
M:(huh? Where the hell ARE you?) Um, I'm out in the middle of nowhere right now, and on my way to somewhere else.
C: I need it ![]()
M: (great, go pay for it or go to a city where you're more likely to find someone who can train you)
C: where are you?
M: (didn't I just say .. *SIGH*) Traveling west on my bike. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to stop to go and train someone.
C: I'll meet you where are you going?
M: Hunting.
No response. Why yes, I'll stop hunting and stand here for however long it takes you to get to me just so that I can train you. No thank you, go to a city like everyone else.
I've got another one, and I can thank the second wave of holo-grinding that's starting to hit now.
I'd had this hologrinder who was finishing out architect. He'd been camping the door to my shop, every day for about a week buying up all the ore and such I could get to him. Annoyingwith the amount of /tells, but good business, so who am I to complain. That ended after he found his new profession though...
Holo-grinder: I've got my new profession to grind
Me: Great! (please don't be a crafting profession)
Holo-grinder: It's Merchant
Me: (Woot!) Hey that's great, I can give you some pointers if you like, it's pretty easy to set things up. First you'll need to get a house if you don't have one already, then you...
Holo-grinder: Let me set a vendor up in ur shop
Me: (**edit**?!?!) Eh?
Holo-grinder: Give me admin to your shop and let me place a vendor there
Me: (Not sure if I want to laugh or cry now) Well what are you going to sell in your vendor? I'm not putting an empty robo-vendor in my (nicely decorated) shop.
Holo-grinder: You can give me resources to sell there, and I'll give you the money
Me: (laughing now) You need to figure out something you can sell, I can't keep my own vendor full most days, I can't support two.
Holo-grinder: C'mon give me admin so I can set up a vendor..
This went on for a good 5 minutes, I finally convinced him to set up his own little house and plant a vendor. I then gave him a wp to a nice copper deposit where he could mine some resources to sell out of the vendor. I even told him I'd buy em all if he didn't get any sales.
I haven't heard back from him in a while, so I'm assuming things worked out...
Heh. So... as it always seems to be we get new ones every week:
#1:
Customer: Do you make lightsabers?
Me (checks for FSCS, nope): Sadly, no, only Force-Sensitive Characters can make those and I'm not Force-Sensitive. Sorry.
Customer: Do you sell lightsabers?
Me (ruh-oh): No I'm afraid, I'm actually not certain that Lightsabers can be sold since there are some issues with swapping them about, I believe it can be done if done properly though. Unfortunately I don't know any Jedi in-game to test this, and I'm sure they'd be quite expensive.
Customer: When will you be able to make lightsabers?
Me (l'sigh): Well..sadly I don't get really have the time to grind out the professions I'd need for unlocking my FSCS, so I don't think I'll be able to make them any time soon.
Customer: Well, when?
Me (must not use fist of death): Never I'm afraid, have you tried making your own? If need be I can help you with some resources other than the pearl/crystal.
Customer: Oh, I'm not a jedi.
Me:.........
Oy.
----------------------------
The second one is actually a series of emails.
Customer: I need a carbine that does good damage, I've got Carbine III, please get back to me as soon as possible (*no attempt to recreate his spelling has been made*)
Me: Well I keep in stock several Carbines of each type on my vendors, including the Laser Carbine though that weapon is no longer as effective as it once was due to damage mitigation. Still I keep several sliced carbines as well./insert *mitigation explanation* *standard spiel* *waypoint to shop*
Customer: Okay well when could you make me one?
Me: I always have carbines in stock at my vendor, you should come by and take a look. My shop is just a short bike ride from Tranquility or Theed on Naboo. /insert *waypoint to shop*
I got another email from him just before I logged off last night and I haven't the heart to read it.
I got an email from a customer who bought a DZ70 droid with a medical module saying that, once tamed, it wasnt as its deed title advertised. Since I bought most of my current droid stock before I became a DE I dont know 100% certain that the droid is as described but I do examine all deeds before purchase and this has never happened before but theres always a first time....
Anyway the email goes on to explain that the droid is actually a bounty hunter droid and he'd like a refund. Never one to con someone I reply that I'm happy to refund the droid however would he mind checking the following things to make sure he hasnt been mistaken (because I've been dealing in droid long enough to know the problems)
My reply informs him that BH droids arent deeds and dont end up in the datapad, and go on to explain that he can examine the droid in his datapad to see if it has a medical rating then it is indeed a medical droid.
2 days pass
Out of curiosity I add the guy to my friends list and get in touch with him when hes next on (I dont like to have unhappy customers) asking him if he was able to confirm what the droid was
Him "its a BH droid"
Me "Is it in your datapad?"
Him "No I deleted it"
Me "But was it in yourdatapad when you had it?" (and how do you expect to get a refund for something you cant return???!!)
Him "Yes it was"
Me "Well it cant have been a BH droid then"
Him "Yes it was, it said it was a seeker droid"
Me "Are yu a bounty hunter?"
Him "No"
Me "because if it was a BH droid you couldnt have used it!"
Him "I know that, I've been playing since beta!"
Me "Did it say DZ70 fugitive tracker droid"
Him "Yes that was it"
Anyway the conversation goes on and it transpires that what he actually wanted (and was expecting from my DZ70 medical droid deed) was the 21B Surgical droid chassis with a medical module installed.
I go on to explain that the chassis is irrelevant and eventually convey that point and he then reveals that since buying my DZ70 he has found and purchased the surgical chassis, so I ask him why he felt the need to delete the DZ70 (and thus forfit his refund) when he can have 5 droids in his datapad
Him "Oh I didnt know that" (obviously not playing with droids since beta then)
Somehow it then becomes apparent that, after all this, he already had a surgical droid with a medical module but it 'stopped working' (I suppose the fact that a non-CH can only have 2 pets probably lead him to think that a non-DE could only have 2 droids...) I get him to check that it does indeed have a medical rating (which it does) and suggest he might like to try recharging the droid
and at that point the medical module starts working.....
As I said the current implimentation of droids has a lot to answer for here but deleting the droid before even discussing the problem with the seller and expecting a refund regardless of the fact that you have nothing to give back (I'd even deleted one of my droids in preparation for the return) is something that I just cant relate to
Ahhhhh... something was definetly in the wind last night.
I'm in my shop talking to a customer about T21s, when another customer chimes in with 'Oh there are better ones at xyz's shop, and gives coordinates'. Now I'm friends with xyz so I don't mind talking about him, but I'm 99.9% sure that the weapon being referred to is a sliced version of the same weapon which will of course be better than an unsliced version.
So the customer I'm talking to heads off, and I'm slightly peeved but dealing with it. The customer giving that pointer asks about a 'good carbine or pistol' and I point him to my vendor. He responds 'Oh I'll double-check for something good', which increases my level of peeve markedly. I don't make the best weapon in every line on the server, but most of mine are either equal to, or one or two points from the best ones so I know I don't stock junk.
So he looks over the vendor, says 'Oh well I was hoping for something better, decent selection though' and leaves. Now normally I'd just ignore this person, because quite frankly it's not worth my time but for some reason this guy sticks in my craw. So I send him a tell explaining that the base stats on my guns are right up there with the best ones on the server, (note that in WS'ing generally when you call something 'base' you mean 'unsliced'/'unkrayted'). His response is that he's not looking for 'Base' and shows me the gun he's comparing it to, which is a 31% damage sliced Republic Blaster.
Gee, I have no idea why my standard procduction guns aren't as good as a sliced version of one of the better guns in the game (though a sliced version of one of mine with the same damage slice would be slightly better than the one he had). I try to explain it to him, and he thanks me and wanders away unimpressed.
Bah. See, I don't mind explaining weapon quality/slices/Krayt to new players, but I loathe when new players that really don't know a thing don't realize how much they don't know.
The funny part was the first customer returning 20 minutes later because my T21s were better than the ones he'd been referred to, with the exception of a sliced one for something like 20x the price of mine.
Spinner I had the same problem during act 1 or COA.
I saw one of the encoded disks on the bazaar for 1 credit, not being one to pass up a bargain I bagged it (actually I needed that one but even if I hadnt I'd have bought it just to re sell it)
Within seconds I had the selling /tell'ing me how it was for a friend and I had to give it back, and then the friend /tell'ing me how he'd give me x credits for it if I sold it to him
Needless to say I wasnt going to sell (this was early in the act before they became commonplace)
The funniest part was that, when quizzed with why they hadn't just traded the disks, it turned out they were opposing factions!!!!
A rebel/imperial knowingly selling something of military value to the enemy, how very RP.......... (I'm a RP'er so this kind of thing really gets my goat)
Yeah Im pritty upset with all the crap people give us . Trying to get stuff off us for free . I Have a thing happen to me a day or two ago .
Not so merchant and artisan sell prob. but I am a merchant .
Me: /shout "SLICING CONTAINERS FOR FREE ! PST "

PS there should be consequences for the actions you do in this game .
Here's a good one:
C: Can you make an FR40+ Crafting Station
Me: Yes, but I'm out of the Materials that I need, it will be a few days.
C: How much?
Me: Well, the last time I made one I had to spend 24K in traveling to different planets to get the resources with the stats that I need, so I'm charging 40K.
C: That's a rip-off!! Je-e's got em for 4K.
Me: Yeah, I've seen those, they're FR12, if that's what you want, then feel free to get them from him.
C: But I want like a 40 to 42, but at a better price
Me: Too much trouble, forget it.
C: Will you do it for 10K?
Me: I told you, last time I ended up SPENDING 24K just in Travel, plus it took me all day to get everything I needed, forget it, When I get a chance, I will make more and they'll be in my vendor for 40K if you want them that's where they will be.
C: How about 15K
Me: /Ignore
