Thread: Vanishing Vendors or Vendor Items

Hey, For even MORE fun....
I pulled all my stuff off of my vendor
Deleted said vendor
Created a new one (had wanted to "move" the thing for a while anyway...)
Initialized it & loaded all my stuff.....
Uh-Oh
Do the Dev's know that Newly placed vendors are NOT initializing?..... I now am sitting with a full house, a full pack, and 59-60 in myinventory.... Until I get this vendor to take stuff, I'm stuck in my house (NO WAY would I go outside... I could get killed & loose 5% on all my deeds.....)
HOTFIX the Vendors...... SCREW the Vehicles. Events have overcome Plans.... Deal with it!!!!!
There is a thread at the top of the forum with some suggestions about getting a vendor to initialize if you are having this problem. There are a number of methods that work for various people. It isn't a fix for the problem but it just might get you back into operation quickly.
Couldn't log in ASAP, and lost about 300 items. Saved the rest of them with about 3 hours to spare. Good thing I'd spread out the restocking over a few days after the last patch, or I'd have lost them all.
The 14 day bug is amazingly boneheaded. There's no excuse for this. Yes the game's complex - realizing that, why do the devs continue to pour resources into new content when there are bugs that have been in existence since launch? There are skills that haven't worked since launch! There are whole professions that are screwed...and have been since launch?
Quite frankly I don't want to see another bit of new content (including vehicles) until all the bugs are fixed. Sweeping a ton of elephant s**t under the rug still leaves a heck of lump and an even worse smell. Knock it off and do the work.

I find this pointless request for detailed explanations amusing.
This is exactly the kind of information that CSR requests whenever I ask for help:
- Not having learned from past experience,I meticulously detail my problem and circumstances to CSR, ever hopeful that they will do something useful to address the situation.
- As they usually do, CSR responds "We're very sorry, but since we can't verify your loss, we cannot compensate you."
Well, this is the last straw for me. Unless CSR does something spectacular in the next few days to solve this problem (which they won't), I'm out of the game.
One bright spot: all these bugs and problems will make fine material for my comedy act in RL.

BTW, that's on Corellia, 1200m south of Coronet.
I started to go through every one of my over 1000 items to find the expiring ones but then suddenly realized what a ridiculous waste ofeffort that was.
I wonder what other surprisesSWG has in store (no pun intended) after all the merchants have jumped through yet another hoop to fix the current problem.
I'm definitely quitting.

I hadn't seen this mentioned, so I thought I would:
I had several items at 16 days + a few hours on Monday. I withdrew the sale of the items. Went to stockroom, did NOT retrieve them, and clicked sell item on each. They're still for sale today, and were not deleted on the 14 day cycle. So relisting from stockroom does prevent the loss of the item at the initial 14 days. Of course they're only on a 7 day sale period, but at least I'll get warning and movement of the items to my stockroom at 7 days, well before the deletion period. Sucks, and makes it painful to add new items (you have to sell from inventory, withdraw, and sell from stockroom to protect them), but it's a hard workaround until things are fixed. Personally, I've decided it's too much work and am not restocking anything until this is fixed, I'll just keep my current stock until it runs out completely.

I"m actually glad to hear that. It is a lot easier to do than retrieving everything.
I have told several people with vendors about this bug and no one knew about it! They were very happy that I warned them because they would have lost everything in stock. I know that with a game that is this complicated there is no such thing as an instant fix and that nothing will stop the momentum of making vehicles the top priority, but there should be a warning when you log on in the patchnotes area. There should also be email to everyone to warn them, just like when a new story part comes out. It is already hard to find crafters a lot of times because so many are off chasing holocrons! If people lose everything off of their vendors we will lose even more crafters and merchants.
I'd like to preface this by saying that there has been so much information by the players in the threads the past several days, and I am saddened that this investigation appears to have only begun.
Ticket number: 1321335
Details:
- Patch Day hits. 30 day code implemented
- I withdraw all items from my vendor.
- I retrieve all items from my vendor.
- I offer for sale all the items again from my inventory (rinse and repeat these steps many times - I have, no, had, over 500 items)
- Items now indicate a 30 day sale period.
- Approximately two weeks later (around Thanksgiving holidays), I notice I am getting emails for special orders on things I know I have in stock
- I check my vendors, and to my horror my inventory is depleting.Nothing is in the stockroom. No emails indicating that they were bought
- I check the boards, and find that other merchants are starting to report the same things
- After sharing information with other players, it appears that there is definitely a bug where items are flagged for deletion after 14 days.
I cannot detail all the items I lost individually - that is impossible due to the amount of inventory I kept in stock. I am severely disappointed in the way this problem is being handled by the team.
I have no idea what can be done to compensate the many hard working merchants in this game. I'd like to hear what the team is proposing.

Greetings,
I have been asked to collect some of this information. I need to get a few highly detailed cases plus their Ticket numbers. Please feel free to message me or respond to this thread. Thank you.
gee i cant start a ticket because i am waiting for another ticket to be resolved
4 vendors just disappeared today. I have not had a chance to see if they will return tomorrow. None had the same name. I am about 300 meters from a server boundary. The vendors were not placed at the same time and all had maint money on them. Everything else in the building is normal.

I just checked a thread in Development regarding the hotfixes. Someone requested that until the vendor bug has been resolved that perhaps it would be prudent to somehow provide warning on login for everyone as not everyone reads the boards and could be being hit very hard by this.
JustG responded that this bug doesn't happen to everyone, implying such a message is 'unwarranted'.
Curious - has ANYONE got 30 day sales that have made it past the 14 day elapsed? I've not yet read a single post where someone has stated they are unaffected by this condition.
Coupled with TH's erroneous first post about the problem (that being, that after a sale last the entire 30 days, then being relisted would vanish after 7 - which is completely STUPID because there hasn't even BEEN 37 days since this got implemented) - then posts after 4 pages of detailed explanations of what's happening asking for "detailed explanations of what's been happening" - and now coupled with this new post asking for more information .... what the heck is going on?
I am dismayed at the slow response, the lack of freaking clue, the feel that this isn't important from the official representatives, and lack of basic courtesy in even apologising for what is an obvious and huge snafu, and refusing to try warn people via a game mechanic about this brutal bug because 'it's not happening to everyone' which from what I can tell is a complete pile of bull****.
Would it kill you to admit you're wrong and do people who don't read the boards the courtesy of informing themthat this is happening? EVEN IF we accept what appears to be a farce that this bug is random, is that such a huge problem to warn that this could "potentially" happen? EVEN IF it was random you might save someone's stock from annihilation?
Would it kill you to say YOU ARE SORRY?
ARGH!
