Thread: Is the vendor nerf enough to make you want to quit?

I'm really not sure. My husband and I run a player city on SS so this would be a difficult decision to make. At the very least, we would quit Merchant and close up shop for our vendors. I'm a Tailor and he's an architect. I run the vendors for both of us and it would be near impossible to stock both clothing (in lots of pretty colors) and a variety of furniture on 100 items per vendor. Just impossible, so unless the numbers are raised (waaaaay waaaaay higher) we will be giving up crafting and probably play another game, only checkin in on our city every couple of days. Our citizens would not get the ease of shopping in town and the city would probably dry up as the rest of our crafters are probably going to have the same problem. The city would die, free up our feeling of commitment to these people and then we could safely walk away. I honestly never found myself wanting to leave, but this constant nerf while lack of content to crafters mentality is starting to get to me. I have no faith in the developers ideas anymore. I think they've gone totally around the bend and this is not even recognizable as the fun place I played in even 6 months ago. (Except for some of the oldie but goodie bugs that have NOT been fixed properly to this day.) I don't understand why change has to always be limiting, when it could be liberating. /shrug. Soooo, I give it about a month and then we're prolly out of here.

Goodbye SWG, Hello WoW....jk

I'll stay, I just will not like it one bit...and leave if it is unbearable, which it most likely will be. Thank you for taking the time to read this senseless post.

if this occurs I will quit, as will several others I have spoken with. I just got a vendor and I have almost 500 items on it that I have worked very hard to collect if I loose most of them because Of this then it means I wasted numerous days collecting cool stuff to sell at cheap prices. I love the game but if things like this continue to happen that take away from my enjoyment I'd rather pull out the old Atari and play some Pong. This is going to do nothing but make things outrageously expensiv which will hurt new players even more than us veterans. can you imagine coming into the game and finding out that a crappy CDEF weapon is 500k or more because noone wants to be a merchant because of the freakin' work that has to go into running a vendor if this goes through. Why is there so much cool stuff in the game for us to collect if we can't store it or sell it. You might as well just give uis all the same characters and weapons. The Devs are supposed to be making the game better not worse and this isn't making it better every person I talked to since I heard about this today is pissed off about and trying to figure out how they can salvage there items. Bottom line do it and lose a large number of people don't and keep those of us that would have left if it had been done.

I'm already switching all my account to month to month with anticipation of shutting them down. This nerf is the final straw for me.

So far, SOE has been silent on the reason for the size of this nerfbat. I have no issue with taking out empty vendors ( they are annoying as we all know).

I don't necessarily have an issue with a cap...and I think many of you agree. Its the size of the cap that can make or break many of us.

I am a master doc/master cm and craft comps and stock a large supply of resources. Currently I have "only" 350 items on my lone vendor. I also know many who have more.

The obvious comprimise is to raise the cap...substantially. In return, we would actually have to have Business III or better to have use a vendor. The low end could be say 100 items and up to a max of 2000 for master merchant...or something to that effect.

This would give SOE some database stability (if thats the issue) and give our dedicated crafters the ability to stock their vendor up and go out and have fun...rather than it be a "second job."

We can't expect the current situation (ramp up to Biz III or whatever, drop it but keep vendor) to stay. That ganks those peeps who have kept Biz III or better at the expense of skill points.

I want Merchants to be valued and rewarded by a higher cap but I want the rest of us to remain viable in the economy as well.

If SOE says the currently proposed cap stays, the economy will implode...and without a vibrant player economy we all know where this game will go....<flushing sound>

I too love this game and want the bugs fixed and content added and and and...I just don't want a dev over reaction that will cripple the economy.

I won't quit right away if they impliment the changes but if the expected implosion happens, Ill slip away to another game as well.

Between family and real life friends, we have at least 18 accounts in jepordy....Is that what they want????? Wewill not quit completely but we will certainly reduce the number of accounts because we will not have a business to support.....

Who comes up with these ideas...NON PLAYERS!!!!!

So I come to the forums since the customer service guys said to post a message here and the developers will see it and consider it... Yeah right! From the looks of all the posts here I say they don't really read these messages or really don't care. Anyway, yes if they go through with the merchant nerf I would cancel my account and the others that I am also paying for. After all this is a game and should be fun right? I thought the DEVs were still working on bugs and so I stuck with the game since it first started but now it appears they are losingsight that this is a game and suppose to be fun and they are trying tobecome the micro managers and more like the EMPIRE!Anyway, you have my vote that I would quit a total of 3 accounts I heard the City of Heros is suppose to be pretty cool!

Hey on another post someone suggested going on strike...what do you guys think? Can we really cripple the economy of the game by not selling anything for a week? See how fun everyone thinks the game is with nothing to buy????

Well...here's my thoughts on it.

I use a vendor for storage. I also use a lot of extractors. I cant afford more then 1 character either.

How am I supposed to store stuff now?

I know vendors are NOT intended for that...but SOE will not make a better way.

I have over 400 + items ( not to mention I havea factory going right now making 4000 Munon Gold units. Thats 160 crates. That will fill up my house already.

10 lots is not enough to act as storage/extractor/vendor lots.

just not possible.

I think there should be a better way to keep the merchant proffesion more active.

Already changed my shop signs to say closing due to merchant nerf. I'm only logging in now to pull up my harvesters. If this goes live, me and my 11 accounts are out of here.

lol are they trying to draw attention away from SWG and to EQ 2.Honestly,this isnt enough to make me quit, however if the rumor of the ending of reclusive(that might be spelt wrong) macros is really true and if they pass it through,I WILL Quit.I will never touch an SOE game again.I will never by another sony product ever again. Its crap. Why the hell would they do that?To make it take 5 months to grind any crafting/entertainer profession...i could see if they made it automaticly dump a command list if u go afk(i personally dont like afk entertainer grinding,i never watch an afk entertainer unless there master dancer or musician)If they do this,im switching to WoW or FF onlineor somethin...and im sure as hell not buying everquest 2.

Well i remember posting a long time ago on the forums asking the devs not to destroy a game that has so much potential, I guess they didn't listen ( not that i am surprised )

I for one will more than likely leave the game as will my Girlfriends who has business III and a vendor with over 800 items on it.

The Nerf will finish the game for sure for both of us, not to mention majority of the guild i am in i wouldn't wonder.

Most people i know will quit too as it just won't be worth their time playing a game that for one they have to pay $15 a month for, majority of them having more than 2 or 3 accounts, and 2 a game that is just a serious of continual " NERFS".

Why is it that this game has incredible potential that most players can see but the devs can't?

Maybe they should TRY READING THE FORUMS!!!

or better than that PLAYING THE GAME!!

Well done SOE you really stuffed this up for ALOT of people, I hope george lucas comes round and kicks the heck out of you for making his creation into a pathetic nerf fest!
