Thread: Is the vendor nerf enough to make you want to quit?

Hell yes. Not only would I give up artisan (I've been a Tailor since i've started playing the game almost a year ago) but I may even leave the game entirely and not renew my account. If they chase players away from this game maybe the devs will start listening...

I'm already switching all my account to month to month with anticipation of shutting them down. This nerf is the final straw for me.
Thats exactly what I was thinking of doing too. Changing to month to month for now on both of my accounts. I havent completely decided yet if I will leave, but I want to be setup up for an easy out when i do decide.

I'm wondering if they put any thought in the things they do or if they just do random stuff and see what happens.

Two accounts, most likely gone and I'm not even a crafter. Quite simply, all the good crafters will be gone and things will be so hard to find it will just be another time sink.
I also have two vendors (they aren't going anywhere since I still have the points) and I'd be hard pressed to have 120 or less items on there.
I'm all for the proposed idea with the exception of the proposed limits. That's the only thing anyone is completely against. I'm not sure about the two weeks thing, but if you have to check in once every two weeks for your vendor to remain there, that's bs as well. I have two three week vacations planned within the next six months, so you get the point.
One other thing, this will totatlly bork the economy of the game. It will be a problem that will never fix itself and will hit every single player right in the face.

So was the pushback of the Combat Balance.
So was the decision to kill recursive macros.
Combat Balance delay:Forget about being able to enjoy balanced PvP or PvE. Unless you have alt accounts to buff yourself and lots of time to invest in getting uber-loot items, it's not worth being a combat class. Well, that's fine, I'll focus on crafting for a while, or maybe take up entertainer and be social.
Kill recursive macros: Wow, that makes it hard for me to make all those goddamn structure modules I need as an Architect. I was actually enjoying this profession because it didn't require useless grinding - I can turn structure modules into homes instead of burning them in practice mode. But without a macro to streamline the crafting, it's an incredible pain to make the things by hand. Also, forget being an entertainer! If I can't macro my flourishes, I need to be furious whacking buttons the entire time I'm playing, rather than chatting with patrons. That kills the entire "social" aspect of the profession entirely, at least for me. Great.
Ridiculous vendor item limits: That pretty much kills my last stab at having fun, which was to have a little furniture shop. With all the types of furniture there are, keeping it properly stocked under these limits simply won't be possible, even with my current level of Management 4. The next thing I was going to try if architect ended up getting boring was tailor, but that's REALLY screwed now.
So in the span of about three weeks, they've provided three ways to kill what gameplay was left. Masterfully done. Good thing I cancelled rebilling three weeks ago - less than two weeks to go until it's dead, and every passing day gives me reassurance that cancellation was the right choice.
yeppers i ben taking out my stuff and moving it to my houses and geting ready to sell it all off for nothing 1 week before this update then im walking way, for some time out.

It's doesn't make me "want" to quit, but I simply cannot function as a fully stocking and successful architect with those limits. I will have no choice but to cancel this account simply because I will not sit in the shop all day in case a customer comes in and needs an item that I didn't have room to stock, or needs 2 of an item that I only had room to stock 1 of. Some professions are hurt more than others by this, but I don't see how a successful architect or tailor can get by. This limit is a game killer.
They didn't think out the side effects of the holocrons, and look what happened to the entertainers. This limit will cause urban sprawl as people place houses and factories for storage (that's already happening), and an increase in spam as people try to sell items that they can't fit on their vendors.
They're not considering the damage that will be done to the economy and availability of items if most of the "serious" crafters quit. And for many professions, only the small timers can get by with such a limit.

I've always frowned upon people who threatened to quit unless they got there way so to speak, but i have to say in this case two of my three accounts will be cancelled not to make a protest or to threaten in anyway but simply because the crafting professions become untenable and simply not worth the effort.

I'm for the nerf, I want to see Merchantry be a proper star wars career option rather than a supporting sideline for another career.

I don't know what you've been snorting, but keep it away from me. Merchant is nothing BUT a sideline to crafters. It should never have been a seperate "full-sized" profession, but should have been rolled into the elite crafting trees, or half the size of the others (so combat types could take it to sell their loot).
This isn't going to magically make Merchants appear tosell stuff for crafters. It's going to magically make crafters disappear.
