Thread: Vanishing Vendors or Vendor Items

For the past couple of days players have been reporting items vanishing from their vendors. The current information gathered from many players indicates that items placed for sale on a vendor are disappearing from the vendor once they have been on sale for 14 days. We are actively researching this issue and will provide an update as soon as we have any information.
Fixing this issue is a top priority.
Any information you have that might shed more light on this issue is appreciated. If you are looking for a way to possibly avoid losing items the following method might help:
1. Any items nearing 14 days on sale (16 days remaining for a 30 day auction) should be retrieved from the vendor and put back on sale from your inventory (not the stockroom).
2. Any items which have been expired into the stock room should be retrieved from the vendor and put back on sale from your inventory (not the stockroom).
It cannont be guaranteed that this will prevent item loss as we are still researching this issue but these steps are a possible way to avoid item loss if the current evidence proves to be a correct representation of what is occuring.
Why would you want to remove them from the vendor and put them back up for 30 days instead of just restocking from the stockroom? From the stockroom seems to be working just fine (in the same way it did before the patch...7 days on, then rotated to stockroom) is there a reason I should be retrieving them to inventory and then selling them? It seems to me that just opens the opprotunity for items to disappear after 14 days as I try to keep track of the timers on it all.

Because I don't know that it will work. I have seen reports of people who told me they withdrew the items into the strock room and then put them back up to have them disappear in a few days (about the same time they would have dissappeared anyway if they had been left for sale).
I don't make any promises. It SEEMS to be true that if you pull everything off today and put it back on you have 14 days before it becomes an issue again. I hope with all my heart that this bug will not live that much longer.
If you want to experiment with the stock room go ahead. I just don't trust 14 day old items on vendors right now until this is resolved.

Rgr that, I definately do not want to cloud or confuse the issue. Let me explain why I was asking. Basically the way I run my shop is my slicer will offer a weapon to my sliced vendor to pay his sliciing fee, since the patch (as per usual) I buy those weapons, and stock them from the stockroom. So far, each week one of his weapons has rolled of the sale screen and back to the stockroom, at which point I restocked it from the stockroom. So today, I withdrew sales on what weapons were left and just restocked them from the stockroom. Considering how many I noticed gone at log-in today, what I have stocked right now is not that substancial. I will just keep them on the vendors stocked as is (for 7 days) and keep track of the total stock and compare that against sales emails...if you would like I will PM you each day and let you know if the stock is staying like it is supposed to or still disappearing, if that info would help at all.
Now everything I removed and relisted only lists for 21 days

2. Is your vendor to your knowledge on a server boundry. (This is tricky because the only way I know to tell is if you have someone run around that area with a pet they will usually stop following you when you hit the boundry) If someone has a better way to test this let us know. Not on a server line but near one. I had crossed it before i had put the items on the vendor. I also hopped planets with the items.

4. Does your vendor or items return with a server reset? No
Any other information you have about this issue including the first date that it happened.

All the items on one vendor was picked completely out the vendor, transfered to another planet for a week. then all moved out of that vendor... and back into the vendor that ate it all. Came straight from the inventory. not the store room, this was the weekend after the patch.
on my tailoring vendor, I think it may have something to do with being logged out. I was logged in and stuff started to come off sale and I was getting emails. I logged out. I came back later that night and stuff was missing. No emails, nothing in the store room except for those items that i saw come off sale before I logged out.
Items are coming off sale on my vendor as I write.
They are sending me emails, and they are most definatly going to the store room.
These were all items made before the patch but replaced for sale from the store room after the patch was in.
I have already lost items while i was logged out!
I really really think this has something to do with being logged out when stuff goes off sale.
on a side note, i relist things alphabettically and in large chunks once or twice a night. the 4 items where administrators robe,black hide belt, bristle hide belt, casual shirt. in that exact order. there would have been many items after that in alphebetic order, so that why i think its a logout problem

Yes, my vendor is in a player city.
The "30 day" auction has never worked for me OR it has but the items that were supposedly on it were eaten after 14 days. It seems all the items I put up for sale before the patch are still in existence and falling into the stockroom every 7 days. I also seem to have lost anything I put up for sale after the last patch.
However, some of the stuff I made only 11 days ago, and it is gone as of my pre-patch items going up for sale falling into the stockroom. I am wondering if perhaps there is some issue regarding the items on a 7 day auction falling and confusing the database and deleting the items that are then, supposedly, on a 30 day auction.
I dunno. But I'm over 100 items in the hole, now.

No, 4 vendors all with different names.
2. Is your vendor to your knowledge on a server boundry. (This is tricky because the only way I know to tell is if you have someone run around that area with a pet they will usually stop following you when you hit the boundry) If someone has a better way to test this let us know.

No idea, just had all but a few items from these 4 vendors disappear

It just happened to me on the Intrepid Server. I stopped in to read the message forums and saw that this was happening so decided to check my vendors. All but 14 items, that I had just listed this week, are gone.
Multiple house deeds, furniture, weapon powerups, and some special order items are all gone. These had all been up for sale for 14 days. Alot of these items had been on sale on these vendors prior to the patch. A few days after the patch, the items had dropped into the stockroom. I had read that if you restocked from there, they would only go on for 7 days instead of 30 so had removed them all into inventory and had relisted each one for the 30 days. I had been online earlier in the day and had checked the vendors and the items were there with 16 days and hours left on the vendor timer. Wished I had known this was going on, as I would have emptied them then.
Any word on what the devs are going to do about replacement or reimbursement due to this?
the devs are going to ignore it and act like it didnt happen...
jeassa will lock anythread that brings it up....
the CSRs will send you an autmated response that has nothing to do with your problem and if you are lucky eventually tell you there is nothing they can do them delete your ticket....
basically they will do what they always do...nothing
This sad... I had about 30 items disappear over the last week or so. I had 51 items in my vendor last night, today I checked and I only had 41 items... This just bites!!! I submitted a /bug report but not sure if SOE will do anything... Very frustrating!!! I put everything in my stockroom.

i haven't found this said, scanned a couple pages..
we all know it's 14 day old stuff (thank JEBUSS i re named my vendors last week)
remebr the old vendor times?
7days on sale, then dump to storeroom, 3-7 days in storeroom then poof. =~14days
they gave us 30 days but didn't take out the dumb stockroom cleaner code....
