Thread: Vendors are EATING items put up after the last big update! PLEASE READ!!!!
SoleilTailor wrote:I just read the Thunderheart post, and am SO disappointed that they missed it big time. C'mon, how many player posts do you need to indicate what the real problem is? So many players articulated what is happening, and yet they still don't get it?
I want to give them some credit. I really do. But when you miss the boat on something as big as this... I'm in utter disbelief right now. Basically his advice will send even more inventory into the blackhole.
Look here's the deal, I've been observing TH's responses to various serious issues for a while now, and every time he talks about some vaguely related minor issue that would be solvable if the KOTOR was turned off for a few hours in the programming department. Why does he do this, well it's simple really, he handles what is easy and that's all, never the though stuff, the real issues. He may not be as oblivious as he comes across, but the fact of the matter that is how he comes across to us. TH never handles the issues we as players, either as a whole or more specific groups, want him to acknowledge and address. Whether this is because he won't or he can't is not clear, the fact is that he isn't!

I have learned to read the forums every day now, Just read this a bit ago.. went in game and started running to my vendors.. my 2 sales vendors are ok oldest itme is 10 days currently and I have moved them to 7 day sales. But my storage vendor i used to keep my droid componets.. I had over 350 itmes there now i have only 39.. thanks for breaking my back.. its the same all items that disappeard had hit 16 days remaining and are now gone.. that just killed my business..
This may be the nail in my account.. ![]()
Well DocSavag, TH's latest post reveals that you know what's going on. As if there was any question of that!
You've been on top of this from the get go.

It's the devs that concern me.
With over 1000 Items on sale, its hard to name whats vanished.....sigh....

Thunderheart just put up the post on this merchant issue. He didn't actually understand the problem, and they're only addressing the stockroom 7 day sales. They missed the fact that items disappear when sold from inventory after 14 days...he actually told players to use the 30 day inventory method!
Can our merchant correspondent please set them straight?
This just goes to support my conspiracy theory that this is IN FACT a STEALTH SINK HOLE to try and re-balance the economy by wiping the slate on millions, if not billions of credits worth of goods.
I don't totally believe this theory yet, but I think its more interesting than simply stating the obvious:
The programmers are amateur fools at SOE
I don't understand why they touted this as being a game in which they openly communicate all their problems. They have seemed somewhat close mouthed to me, of course, they may have become that way over time.

No one wants to talk openly about problems or failures that is human nature. And developers in particular would rather just fix it than spend a lot of time discussing it. However, I do agree that it all works better when they do have someone give us accurate and informative communication about the problem and their efforts to fix it. That being said I'm far more concerned that it get fixed than I am having someone hold my hand while it does.
I lost about 3 million credits in resources and powerups due to this bug on my pre patch vendors. I have since deleted all of my vendors and replaved them with new ones.
I haven't bothered to put in a CSR ticket...yet...because I know in my heart that nothing will be done about it. But...like an idiot...I will ask anyway...
WillSOEhelpget the items back by checking the logs? If so, then filling out a ticket will be worthwhile.
I just hate fillingtickets outjust tosee them ignored and unanswered until they are quietly deleted. ![]()
I have lost half my inventory to this problem. This is just the latest thing to take my stuff or cost me time or creds.
I was given this game as a gift and was also given $40 toward a 3month membership, so I am into this game for $2.95 with my renewal date on 12/24. I feel as though I have wasted my money paying to play this BETA. If the next 3 months were to cost me another $2.95, it would not be worth it to me. If someone offered to pay for my time completely... I would demand that they keep their money.
I have had 107 friends leave the game (90% of the remaining friends I have say they will leave when their current paid time is up), and I have personally recommended to 25-30 personal friends, who are gamers, that they do not buy or play this game.
The only reason to stay in this game is to be able to show other people how bad it is, instead of letting them spend the money to find out.
SOE has until 12/23 it impress me with someMAJOR fixes. upgrades, and reimbursments if they want to keep me as a customer.
BTW if I see "improved server stability" again, I may just have to scream.... it is never a good sign.
Well i submitted a ticket and i got a automated response with some FAQ's on vendors..LOL
I think we have to just all relaize the items are gone forever, it is the money sink they have been looking for otherwise it would have been fixed the second it was discovered....
This sucks. It'll bring the whole merchant economy to a grinding halt.
This game had LESS bugs on launch than it has now.
