Thread: Vendors are EATING items put up after the last big update! PLEASE READ!!!!
On no...
Thunderheart just put up the post on this merchant issue. He didn't actually understand the problem, and they're only addressing the stockroom 7 day sales. They missed the fact that items disappear when sold from inventory after 14 days...he actually told players to use the 30 day inventory method!
Can our merchant correspondent please set them straight? ![]()
I too had a bunch of stuff disappear off one of my vendors....I didn't think much of it because all that disappeared was a bunch of junk resources that I couldn't use. Just had it on vendor on the off chance that it would sell. Anyway the other day it all just disappeared, had about 50 items on that vendor, but then, poof, only 3 small house deeds left!!! Like I said I didn't make a big stink about it because I didn't really care too much about the stuff on that particular one....doesn't do much sales anyway. But now that I know about this I think i'll keep an eye on the more expensive stuff I have for sale on other vendors.

He completely does not understand the 14 day bug.
DocSavag, please please please tell us that you did not inform the devs that they bug was as TH described in his post today. You told us they were aware of the issue and working on it, and now we're told they're looking at some completely unrelated issue and don't even know about the 14 day bug when selling items for 30 days. They actually TOLD us to sell items from inventory, not stockroom, for 30 days!!
Where did the mixup occur? Was it in your report to the devs, or their understanding of the issue?
I hope so, but they closed the old thread and refered everyone to a thread that stated a problem which is different from the issue in the thread they closed...

Ahh..that is the thread someone was telling me about. I haven't been involved in any threads in SWG discussion about this so I didn't see that one. Who can find anything in that mess.
I can only assure all of you that I continue to point out the evidence we have all seen about this issue.

If you read the first few sentences you will see that he states that it is ONE of the issues they are looking at. There is no misunderstanding in my reporting that there is a 14 day issue with items in the FOR SALE tab and I will restate that clearly again to make sure that it hasn't been lost. I think TH was simply trying to alert people to another issue they have discovered.
The problem is that the workaround suggeested by Thunderheart will actually cause the more critical bug to kick in and destroy items.
Also, the thread that Thunderheart posted in is linked by the (locked) threads on the main board. These locked threads were discussing the more critical 14-day bug, not this 7-day bit of triviality.
I am in training all day on tuesday...I hope people keep this bumped!
I just read the Thunderheart post, and am SO disappointed that they missed it big time. C'mon, how many player posts do you need to indicate what the real problem is? So many players articulated what is happening, and yet they still don't get it?
I want to give them some credit. I really do. But when you miss the boat on something as big as this... I'm in utter disbelief right now. Basically his advice will send even more inventory into the blackhole.
I've reposted a summary of our findings here on that post clearly stating that the stock room is not the primary issue we are seeing. I included quotes from many of the posts on this post and the other one here that has been tracking this post. Hopefully it will clear up any possible confusion for the dev team.
Can I get some clarification......
If I withdraw my sales with the 30-day end of auction time limit, then repost from stockroom (they'll have 7-day end of auction time-limit now).......will my items be safe????

I don't believe they will be safe. I believe the only SAFE way to protect them is to remove them from the vendor every 13 days and put them back on.
That is a GUESS. We don't know exactly what will happen but that seems to fit with what we know right now. Everything suggests that the stockroom is not a safe place right now, but again we are just going what we have seen reported.
