Thread: Vendors giving up sales after a week -make your thoughts known
This is why I just quit merchant....The same day I hit "master" I realized that reposting for 1 hour every morning was not fun...not a game...to much like REAL LIFE
why in the world would I get home from a day of work to do all this "paperwork"?
Get your act together SOE
every day i get at least 50 e-,ails about items going to my stock room. this sould not happen i have neither the tome or the energy to , everyday for a half-an hour, restock my items just for them , in a week to stop being sold and to repeat the process.

Yay! Today it's been one week since I moved my vendor and put my 800 items for sale, I'm going to spend such a great day putting everything back on sale you have no idea!

I'm close to giving up on Merchant. I have been doig it to support my guild, so they could have more usefull skill points (ours sure aren't useful).
Anyway, I tend to buy and re-sell the products of everyone in (and some outside) our guild so that our store is a one stop shop. This means I stock over 1000 items and I re-roder when stock gets low on an item.
The hour or more I spend a day re-listing items is aggravating and a game killer for me - it sure isn't fun - isn't a game supposed to be fun too?
With my own products (meds) it takes 3 components in each one, so I have to have these huge factory runs in 3 factoriesgoing constantly to make them in bulk so I can have enough stock to meet demands for each final product.
Should I forget the purpose of Merchant and just go back to email orders only? I'm sure al of my customers just love having to WAIT instead of just buying things form my vendor as the game is INTENDED to do.
I am so sick of this games wasteful time-sinks. Just because some moron somehwere uses their vendor to have more inventory because Sony is so cheap they won't buy an extra server for each cluster to meee their players demands on inventory, why do I have to be punished?
They make over 4 MILLION a month on Subscriptions alone - you can't tell me they can't afford it....
Besides with the house limits, they created the problem themselves - go back to 75 per lot - no limit!
I can carry over a thousand items in my inventory if I buy storage droids - why not nerf those too - c'mon lets tick the DEs off some more too.
How many more worthless professions do we need?
If we only had a correspondant or dev who actually read, repliedand did something about this stuff....
They only want our money - not our happiness.
Here's my take on the issue:
There are several bugs in the game. One of them is the 'ghosted item' bug, whereby an item that was previously set-up for sale becomes 'ghosted' and prevents anyone from getting it, though it will still show up on the vendor. The only way this things goes away is when the 7 days expire, and then it goes into the stockroom for 3 days, (still 'ghosted'),before it goes away for good. Without the automatic expiration, nothing would get rid of the 'ghosted' item.
Single most frustrating and annoying issue in my gameplay right now and also my single biggest time sink... seriously i swear im spending the MAJORITY of my gametime the last few days on simply restocking expired items! They've reached a critical mass and now im flooded by them... before now ive been keeping up but now i have over 100 items in my stockroom... i have no idea which ones have been in there the longest... i reckon half will have vanished into the ether by the time i get to them tonight... annoyed to buggery that the first half hour to an hour of my gametime will be spent marked as /afk just so i can restock my expired items before they vanish forever... if they havent already.
This truely does suck and I can't see why the DEVs set it up this way. What is the point?
And can I get some kind of reason that I am paying .1% and hour on items I have in my vendor? That's 2.4% per day! At this rate I am spending 10k per day on a vendor that only has like 50 itmes in it.
We need a flat tax on sales from our vendors. Say 5%. That is more than fair in my opinion.
Don't you understand, this is a way for items to disappear thus lessening the memory load on the servers.
You can't yell at them for losing your stuff due to scheduling problems, just because you can't get to your vendors and rotate your items back off of storage, it is your problem not theirs.
Eventually I'm sure they are hoping alot of items will disappear this way, and merchants and crafters will get tired of not only rotating items, but basically - just making them, therefore lessening the load even more.
They created a diverse world with so many resource's, items, choices, colors etc etc etc and the duffus's didn't create the memory to handle it, therefore instead of putting your customers best interests first and supplying what is needed to make them happy, they create programing that lessens the load on themselves by making you lose your wares, because you'll take it, what else can you do? Whine? Just keep that 15 buccaroonies coming every month, and eat it, nobody here cares about your time.
Like they care.
