Thread: Vendors giving up sales after a week -make your thoughts known

personally, I greatly dislike the fact that after several long hours of posting items to a merchant, and carefully pricing, that a week later my mailbox is stufed with hundreds of ''auction unsuccessful'' email and my paid vendor has decided to dump the tiems to the stockroom. there is no auction timer for vendor items (like there is on the bazaar). Im not sure if this is unintended (Im thinking so because of the lack of the visible timer). If it is, however, my vote is against it. Its a long enough process to craft a large selection, post and individually price the items. Also, I understand there are dev concenrs about stockrooms being used as storage. Removing this feature, and removing the stockroom also, would kill two birds with one stone. just my 2 credits, lets hear yours.

I lost a suit of Advance Composite Armor after 2 days and they said that the stock room was not meant for storage and they will not replace the items. This is absolutely insane. I play casually 3-4 times a week, I shouldn't have to log on every day and check my vendor.
Also I had 10 stacks of junk Aluminum on my vendor that I could not retrieve I reported it the first day. I also attempted for 3 hours to get it off. After a week they responded reimbursed me and said they won't ever do it again.
I can understand them not wanting to reimburse me not knowing for sure that the items were on the vendor or not, but if they would of responded within 24 hours they would of seen it.

I hope one of the DEVs that Holo has promised will be playing the game have a Merchant character and a vacation planned. After they spend an hour of busywork that makes no sense at all, they might fix it.
Perfect solution to all our problems.
I made a similar post last eve while my Tailor was being spammed with "You have new mail", appears to be gone today. I found myself logging off not being able to carry on any kind of conversation and looking for Demos of any upcoming games not containing the nice little feature to play.
Are we having fun yet?
I do not like the timer on personal vendors either. As a tailor, this functionality is not at all friendly to the wide range of products that my profession needs to provide to be successful. I suspect that either A. it was a left over function from bazaars they forgot to take out, or B. SOE is trying to limit database size. Either case is not something the players should be forced to deal with.
I am very rapidly growing tired of restocking - I am weeding outhundreds ofitems that do not sell, but even the best-selling items do not sell all the time. This is the # 1 problem on my list that I see may discourage me from SWGin the future. Ifthe devs want to createa wide range of products for a profession, like Tailor, they need to make it FAR easier to manage. I am literally forced to work the long hours to manage my SWG vendors as if I were managing a RL store!
My vote is to either ditch the timer (viewable in the product details window), or allow players to customize the timer to use as a tool to control inventory flow. This is and area that is severely lacking in SWG - inventory management/reporting and revenue/expense reporting.
I hate this turn over. It means that every Sunday night, I'm gonna spend an hour going around to my vendors, and restocking the things that the stockroom hasn't eaten. Which is not how I want to spend my time. I would rather spend that time:
- Crafting new things to sell.
- Working with customers.
- Killing things
- Posting on the forums
- Doing even more /bug reports
Not to mention the fact that I have to delete the hundreds of emails. But make sure I don't delete any important ones.
