Sounds like a lot of work to me. If I am really desperate some night I will try it though. Hopefully the fix for this problem is not far away. *Crossing fingers*
Its a lot of work for sure, especially if you have lot of emails. But it is faster doing it this way, systematically, than just trying to read through every email looking for the culprit. Hopefully we will get some error tracking tools as well someday, so that we can see the faulty email, and send it in to the author in a later edition.

I select the directory, account, and server however the character drop down has no options...any ideas?
Most likely because you have forgot to do a mailsave within SWG. Log in to SWG, do /mailsave
This will copy all your emails to your harddrive. The process may take several minutes if you have a lot of messages. You will get a confirmation message when all the messages have been saved to your harddrive.
Now try to start merchants friend.

To minimize the issue even further, before you /mailsave, delete all emails that are any type of alert like they type you recieve from your factory. As well, if you sell product that is named with 2 lines (I do that with stautes), unfortunately, you'll have to delete those as well. Once you do that, the chances of getting a bad email are greatly diminished.
I discovered this after countless times of finding the bad email and its always the factory messages or statues I sell.
