Thread: Visibility

Okay lets compare notes.
Question: would grouping merely to get bigger mission-spawns generate visibillity...? Still being all alone but technically in a group.

If we jedi knew what caused visibility, we would avoid it, therefore no visibility. As much as it sucks to get on the BH terminal, this is needed for the betterment of the game.
No. We have been told we get visibility for gaining xp by using the force. However it is obvious some actions grant more visibility than others, i.e the numerous reports of people getting on the terminals for killing npc characters (this is how I got on there). There are always going to be Jedi on the terminals under this system, as long as Jedi are leving their characters. What an explanation could potentially do is allow the people who want to play their Jedi to character (i.e. in hiding) to limit as much as possible the visibility they get.
The showboaters in the cities do not care about visibility, they are out in the open. A Jedi playing this way should be more visible than one out on a remote planet hunting alone.
To poor Andros,
What is an exploit? - coward BH grouping with a dozen CMs and Docs and taking full advantage of the TEF bugs? Hunting down LD jedi?
Loggin and out is legitimateand the mens rea behind is beyond consideration. From the bold description under your name, U must be an uneducated rascal in real life lacking all means and love.

I am going to have to cry shenanigans.
I have been spamming the force and saber moves over six hours a day since the publish and have on average 3 bounty hunters watching for me to pop up on the terminals.
I have not been on them yet.
DarthFreyja, do you officially declare shenanigans against the CSR who affirmed this information regarding Jedi visibility?
Personally id have to agree with DarthFreyja, just simple fact, CSR's have been and always will be clueless as to the real game mechanics, heck i just got told by one of them that the server gives 30 mins warning before reboot , when it only gives 15.
--Ice-- wrote:I sincerely hope that the CSR was wrong. Otherwise, if Force Powers cause a visibility increase regardless of where they were used, the most efficient way to level up a Jedi would be the "traditional" hunting grounds of non-Jedi rather than in "less visible" areas with lower spawn rates, and this is just going to lead to more complaints from non-Jedi that there are Jedi all over the place.Unfortunately, from a programming standpoint, the easiest way to code visibility is the method described by the CSR, i.e. for visibility to increase with use of Force Powers regardless of the presence or absence of other players. Also, the extreme reluctance of the devs to discuss visibility would suggest that it might very well be a poorly thought out and poorly implemented system. Originally, before the game was released, the devs made a number of comments about the FS unlocking system and many players were led to believe that it was going to be a robust and well-designed system. The devs refused to comment on the specifics of the system and eventually admitted that it was nothing more than grinding lots of professions. Now, the fact that they refuse to comment on visibility does tend to lead to the suspicion that it is, as the CSR said, nothing more than an incremental counter that goes up with use of Force Powers.
Yep. 100% right, Good post

@ Fixed an issue that was causing the failure of FRS demotions due to unaccepted challenges. Cool!
Wha?
@ Fixed some issues that would cause Jedi visibility to sometimes reset to zero.
@ Set all Visibility to 100000 upon login.

Did I miss something? Where is the post about a visibility scale?

So far, from listening to others, visibilty is most likely caused be these factors:
1. Wearing your robe (doesn't matter where)
2. Public displays of force power or your lightsaber
3. Jedi XP gained/hour, day, week, etc.
Grouping may or may not gain you visibility. It seems to be more XP based. Basically, how fast you get jedi xp. In groups, you tend to get more.
The best way to level uninterrupted is to:
1. Grind with or without groups for no more than 1 buff session every 3-4 days. If you get an "uber" grind of 500K + xp, take a week off.
2. Never wear your robes.
This of course, is just my best guess. Seems to work tho.
I think visability is just messed up. I logged into my private home, without robes on, tuned one crystal, and was on the bh terminals.
I don't think there is anything you can do to prevent getting on it... mine seems to get listed after about 30 minutes of haveing her logged on. Even if she is not in jedi robes and just chatting.
