I think this is going to happen eventually.

First they should check to see how much clearing dead vendors etc. does before nerfing the volumes.

See what impact it does before going for the big change.

This is _really_ going to affect guild vendors badly.

You can't have enough room in houses.. nowyou can't in vendors. This has a great potential to drive players away.

I think the character purge has the greatest potential forclearing items out of thedatabase.. I think this is a bad idea.

Throw some bigger disks on, adda few processors andthrow in a few moreclusters or whatever.

SOE thinks we're Star Wars lemmings. Don't go off the cliff! Voice your opinion with your pocket book, if you don't like what you see, stop paying for it and cancel.

How dumb is SOE? I am sick to death of these stupid changes that screwup the game.Marco's are going, They wont fix the Smuggler profession, and NOW they are wiping out the merchants.Do this SOE and Ill take back the $30 I give you each month.

I wonder everytime I see or hear of a new change, DOES ANY SOE WORKERS PLAY THIS GAME?Please pull your heads out of your fourth point of contact and NOT do this change.

fwiw I hope those are not the final numbers for the vendors and I am pushing hard to makie the totals aggregate instead of per vendor but there are technical issues with doing that.

Don't expect the number to double or triple though. They aren't kidding about limiting the number of items you can have for sale. Its going to be a challenge from this point forward to keep vendors stocked.

I am going to be doing some testing on Test Center this weekend but anyone who has a characater there please play it and test as much as you can and post your findings so we can make sure we get the devs the feedback on these changes.

Im sorry, but this is unacceptable.

I have my vendors stocked, and with way more items than the max's are.

If this goes live, there are going to be ALOT of people pissed off.

Honestly, if this does go live, me and my three chars will be moving on to another game.

Im sick and tired of them messing with things that are NOT BROKEN and IGNORING the things that are.

SOE, go ahead and make it live......then figure out a way really quick to get people to come back, because i for one, will be dropping this game like the bad habit it is.

Yeah, this is an OUTRAGE.

As a Master Merchant, I have more items up for sale on ONE vendor than I could have on ALL SIX!!

Do the developers even play this game?

I remember calls to "help" the merchant, I don't believe anyone ever said "merchants are too powerful, they need to be nerf'd"

Just like AFK entertainers and the hologrind, a lot of the database issues will clear up when people who don't have the skill can't have vendors anymore.

I can see setting a limit for the artisan vendor since there isn't much skill required to have it, but as you move up the merchant tree the item limit should increase exponentially until it becomes unlimited at master. In fact, I would go so far as to say spread the item limit out across the profession the way it was done with CH so there's no real advantage of running up only one tree to get more items. I've paid for this profession with skill points, please let me play it.

This game is *NOT* my full time job. For the amount of work this change would require from me, you need to pay me at least the federally mandated minimum wage. There should also be a nice benefits package included. I understand that I can't have two weeks vacation because my vendors will all implode, but I'm willing to overlook that.

I mean, do you realize that I can't stock TWO of every piece of furniture I can make in a single vendor at master??

I try to keep TEN of everything (and more of the popular items) in stock.

Click the link in my sig and let's just put an end to this now.

I'm serious... with the recursive macro nerf, I was content to just start a movement that would generate cancellation paperwork for the bean counters at SOE, but if this goes in, I'm not renewing.

The number of items (660 if those numbers will stay) is okay for my business but why do I need to use six vendors to hold them?! I like to keep my merchant tent nicely decorated and I also have a crafting station there. With six vendors I can say goodbye to a nice looking tent.

If the problem (for SOE) is the database it would make more sense to have the number of vendors separated from the number of items I can have on them since it would in many cases mean less vendors (best case 661 items in tent instead of 666. Hmm...is that a clue?)

I haven't seen this brought up yet but I have two questions:

1) Those Master Merchants that have well over the new caps on their vendors, can they just not add new things until their vendor item count drops below the max?

2) Those people with vendors but no Merchant skills, can they no longer add things to their vendor w/o the skills?

Hopefully someone on TC can answer those questions....btw, I feel for all of you Merchants and fear the day this comes Live and the crafter/merchant community is drastically cut in size because it will be far too much work to keep vendors going. Considering this has only been on TC a few hours and already has started an uproar, I'm hoping the devs listen...

Maybe already said in the countless threads but I just realized that this nerf is just along the lines of the recent macro changes.Entertainers and players in general should be forced to be activeinstead of afk. Limiting the vendors have the same effect. If you want to be a merchant you bloody well has to be in your shop, at the keyboard. No selling items when you're afk, or at least limiting the sales/profit you can make while asleep.

My reading of the postings saysThis

As your items on vendor currently expire you will not be able to repost ANYTHING on your vendor until you are below your limit.

If you are using the current exploit and dropped artisan this means You will within a month have NO vendors at all

All others that kept Merchants will be Hamstrung with the Item Limits.

As an architectI will be reduced to taking Mail orders only just about and posting packs on vendor with "order for Smith"

I suspect that what will happen is that vendors will be full of nothing but "You can order this just Mail ###### and I will contact you when Done"

OOOPss whats that you say No storage space for all these orders ~#~#~~

A complete Farce!
