The Numbers are a Joke!

surely!

I would just like to say that Sony has given me one thing. A truely new experience: considering Microsoft to be the lesser of two evils.

Ok! DocSavage I'll be the first to pose an alternative.

Raise item limit to 1000 at Master Merchant and make it so that the item limit is independent from the number of vendors.

In other words you could have one vendor with 1000 items on it if you wished at Master.

I'm willing to compromise.

hon, I don't think you understand...

doc wants these numbers to be higher. however, the devs have their implementation and don't want to change it. telling doc about all this wouldn't help, he already knows

I'm simply shocked. I would have even tried to work within the new system whenever it was going to be implemented. I knew a per vendor limit was going to be the easiest for the devs to implement, I'm simply shocked that they think these numbers are resonable.

Looks like I might have just wasted 20 million on buying some resources I wanted to stock up on though.

This change affects the people that supply the masses with all the items in the game. Maybe it is the devs intentions to force people out of running large operations.

Does someone have a link where it was announced? I can't see it anywhere. Thanks.

This post was deleted. Suspect more alterations are coming. You can still see what was posted on page 21 of the TC Server Going Down thread.

My thoughts exactly!! Where the @#(@&$^^@^(* are we supposed to keep all the resources we harvest!!! I put them all on my vendor as not everything sells right away! I have a big inventory but need to carry this for all the different crafters I am catering to!

Ok, I see good and bad in this...

The removal of empty vendors taking them off the planetary map = Good

The item limit = absolutly Horrible

1st as an armorsmith in my hey day I had 6 vendors with about 300-1000 items per vendor and each vendor selling multiple types of armor... why? because I had a large client base that demanded my stocking that amount.

2nd as a now resource dealer I stock 60+ mil units on my resource vendor...thats is alot of space.. even in 100k units stacks... so what do I do now? Break down my vendor into a sub-catagory group of vendors (Organinc, inorganic, etc)? That in itself would not be too bad.. but I dont want to have to have 6 vendors for resources... god forbid I might want to sell somethign else...

Sure I can move stuff off the vendor, but like previously mention, that will create a stocking issue, where I have to keep coming back to the vendor and constanly inventorying them to keep track of what needs to be restocked when.. This = a massive time sink and ageneral pain in the ass.

This also creates aeven larger storage problem... no all those items will have to me moved into homes etc... cause I dont think I'll be leavingall the resources on vendors when I go away for 1-2 weeks on business at a time and dont want to come back to and empty vendor because I did not use it in a certain period of time.

Well thanks all I have right now...

For some professions limiting to 100items isn't so bad..namely chef..they carry crates of 3-4 main foods..that everyone uses... But for professions like Armorsmith..I cannot consider my vendors stocked unless I have over 300 Items...I have to stock Stun Composite, Kinetic Composite and my Easily sliced Electricity Composite as well as ubese...thats 9 piece per suit...thats 11 suits of one type per vendor? on good days I sell more then 11suits easily.

The devs need to realize what is more harmfull to their DB us real merchants who stock a good vendor and have these vendors in multiple locations, who feel shame if there vendor is empty...Or the exploiters who abuse the system and have vendors free of the Skill points required... We have all seen these exploiters reactions and the number of them is ridiculus. If the devs need to help the DB kill off the exploited Vendors...then after that..come back and say look guys it didn't help as much as we'd hope..lets talk reduction in size... NOT BEFORE!

Well... i thought of one, rather time consuming way to kinda "fix" this problem... You all are aware of Interserver lot trades... well now you will see... dun dun da da! Interserver master merchant trades, I make a Merchant on your server(take some 15000 recources or somthing, craft for an hour or two to get the business tree, then make vendors, make more of them as you get xp, then give admin to interserver people)... that somewhat fixes the problem... but now its gonna be like "So and So's great recource shop!!"... as you note the guild hall in place, you figure its a mall... no its one guy, with 3 interserver merchant trades, with 18+ vendors... or the great merchant tent, jam packed with 18+ vendors...

There is always a way around the system... its just how far around are you going to go... just for a game... granted it would take, tops 2 hrs for the person to grind up to business 4, then its a matter of just logging in every week and getting more training...

Yup. I'm done. 3000+ items I now have to delete. With this in the pipeline, everyone is going to be dumping overstock on the bazaar and slashing prices on private vendors. Weeeeee! It's a buyer's paradise. I think I will delete it all and save myself the trouble.

Master Merchant? Ah huh. It's spelled J-O-K-E.

Of course you then have to trust the person from the other server to come in to tip you your money, put up your items for sale, repost them when they drop... I think this is a lot more work than interserver lot trades.

The item limit is way too low. I completely understand having a item limit, but the current item limit is very very low. Dedicated crafter/merchents will have to stand by their vendors just to keep them in stock. Perhaps incriments of 25 or 50 would be more appropriate.

The limit #'s work against crafters, being a chef I have 78ish - 79ish schematics, should I stock only 1 crate of each?
