I tend to sell stuff at breakeven prices, in order to get merchant xp, and thus FS senses xp.

Random Merchant: What is the deal with your (any item)?

Me: Dunno, what do you mean by "the deal"

Random Merchant: Well everyone else in the galaxy is selling colthing attachments (or any other item) for 1500000 and you are selling them for 1000, you are ruining the market!

Me: Well, according to the powers that be, I can sell them for 1 cred if I want. I sell it cheap because I want the Merch XP. Plus it is called Free Enterprise, look it up.

Random Merchant: Never mind, you are an idiot.

Me: But I am an idiot with lots of merch XP.

Random Merchant: F#$%^ off.

Me: Thanks, and you as well.

Happens about three times a week. Gets really annoying.

5 stars for you. I have a similar fan club. Some guys are so irritating about it I will camp their house and undersell them on their doorstep. I just love architerrorism hehe.

Oh my god that is some funny stuff, brings back some terribly horrifying memories though.

Walking around with Master Doctor tag on

Customer: Can you buff?

Me: Well I'm not buffing at the moment but I guess I could do one real quick

Customer: Ok I'll take a set

Me: Ok I charge 8k for all six stats

Customer: What are the stats

(I click my macro listing the buff stats)

Customer: OMG 8k for those [insert other name here] sells for the same price and his are 20 minutes longer

Me: Well he must be much better than me at gathering the resources, I can't let them go for any lower than that

Customer: Well I just started 2 days ago, and I only got 5500 credits on me

Me (being a sucker): Well since your new I guess I can do it for 5k, you will make that back in a couple of destroy missions.

Customer: Well I still need to buy a new gun and some other things on the bazaar can you just do it for free and I'll pay you back later when I do the missions?

Me: I don't mean to be rude but I really can't be just giving stuff away it costs me too much to make it

Customer: But I just started and I can't even do mission without buffs can't you just do it

(ignore him)

Customer: Come on just do it so I can run some missions

(ignore him)

Customer: You are just greedy, you're a doctor you're supposed to help people, they don't charge for healing in [insert name of other game here]

(send him a tell explaining why I'm adding him to my ignore list)

hehe ran into a few of those, its simple really, i charge for things that cost me, i dont charge people for say Force heals on my jedi, but i charge for buffs, and so on on my doc

I can tell you that reach people are very nice customers: they just come, spend couple of millions, and I hear nothing but good words from them. If someone start to ack 1000000questions, I know that in most cases he woun't buy a single bracer

And my "favorite" customers are those who ask me to make composite full set right in front of Coronet SP while I'm waiting for a buff!!!Oh, and they don't have money ATM

Ahhhh it's so good to come and read some of these posts when I've had a particularly annoying customer.

I dont have a new one today just wanted to say that I understand some of the crafting professions besides artisan and tailor. When I started my crafting alt I didnt know what I wanted to be so I tried Archi,AS and if I remember correctly even some of WS.Architect is fun,but I dropped it because so many different components are required to make houses, factories and harvesters.I did manage to make some of each category but it was just too much.I picked up AS because my old (and still good at the time)guild wanted matching armor so what the heck?I had the skill points and the means to buy or harvest and mine what I needed. As soon as I finished padded armor sets for everyone I dropped it like a bad habbit.Never could understand how AS works so BIG hats off to you armor smiths. And dont even get me started on WS,myboyfriend is working on that now and hasnt finished grinding because he also finds it teedious...or was the new alt just too time consuming??? I forget

So now when I visit an AS,WS and architects shop I have a great respect for them. Some have higher prices than I've seen, some are fairly priced and some are such amazing finds I snatch them up.Never complained to a single one from any profession because I understand what kind of time and patience you have to put into it.

I am now working on my tailor almost full time (and practically neglecting my primary fighter,I think shes jealous ) but it's fun. When I'm not getting those annoying tells hehe. For those customers who want things NOW and arent too annoying about it I always carry a few crates of synth cloth and other necessary materials to make whatever they want.If they are the kind where you want to rip your own hair out I just tell them I'm out of a component needed to make what they want, and I dont even DARE send them a wp to my shop. For fear they'll come back in the future.

Works out pretty well, most of the time. But I know all too soon I'll get that one customer that will send me running for this thread to vent.

Keep em comming guys, this is like our support group. Our family, our therapy

haha... thanks for this post.. makes work a little more fun

I am a master WS on Wanderhome, and of course, I get some requests for different stuff.. I try very hard not to lose temper, because.. well I might have been in the game since day one, but I still have doubts about some things.. That aside, I can go off sometimes, when people are just to friggin retarded to deserve normal answers. I am thinking of one particular episode, that left me virtually speechless:

I was in Cnet, getting ready to stock vendors. I had my Master WS tag on, and was just pulling out my bike, as I saw a guy who had his disabled (not due to fighting, just hadn't repaired it, I guess). Always the merchant (and master artisan) I send him a tell, saying he could buy a new one off me, for 15k. For some reason this didn't register with him. He only picked up the word swoop, and he started rambling about Jedi and his friends (his spelling was really hard to understand too). I thought oh well, and got on my bike. He then notices I am master weaponsmith, and asks me the usual stuff about scythes and hacks and bla bla bla.. I get off my bike, and patiently starts to tell him the good old sales pitch. He is the kind, that only seems to perceive half of what you say. He babbles a lot of about Jedi and his friends giving him stuff, and finally asks me to repair his scythe.

Now repairing weaponry and the Weaponsmith's bonus to same, has been discussed a lot. I, being a true optimist, buy repair skill tapes, on the off chance. So I have +13 Weapon Repair. I tell him I'll do it, he trades me the scythe and I repair it, with minor blemishes. When I want to trade it back, he is not responding (altho standing right in front of me). I sit for five minutes, sending him a tell once in a while, with no response. Finally, I write him an email, telling him the WP of my shop, and that I have gone there to restock, as he wasn't answering, and that he could pick his repaired scythe up there (my shop is but 700 meters out, being on the front line of shop south of Cnet).

5 minutes passes, with me restocking vendors, when I finally get a tell from him. This is where madness truly ensues. He is, as predicted, mad that I have stolen his scythe. I try to explain to him, how things really are, and that I have just gone to my shop. I tell him the WP again, and that he can just come pick it up anytime. Conversation goes a little like this (please note I have corrected all his language problems:

Him: I don't know where you shop is

me: Well it is at [wp here]

him: come to me and give me my scythe

me: I have stuff to do, you weren't responding when I was repairing it for you.

him: My friend gave me that scythe, it is very special to me. Can I have it back ?

me: Of course you can, but as I said, you were afk before, and I have things to do. My shop is only 700 meters out. [wp again]

him: Why won't you come here. My friend gave me that scythe

me (slightly miffed) I am sorry, but I really am busy atm. You have to come here, if you want it

him: that is my scythe, given to me from a friend. I want it back right now.

me: All you have to do is come pick it up. Just type /waypoint [wp] and drive towards the arrow

4 minutes passes

him: I can't find your shop

me (going outside the shop to look for him) Did you drive to the shop

him: no I am still in Coronet. Come here and give it to me

me: Look, I told you, I am not coming in there. I am working

(this is where it gets loco).

him: come to cnet and duel me

me (laughing): There is no way I am going to duel you for your scythe. I never wanted the blasted scythe to begin with. I repaired it for you, as a favor. You come here and pick it up, or don't, I don't care.

him: where is your shop?

me: Outside Cnet at [wp] as the last 4 times you asked.

I don't remember more of the conversation, as my brain was going overload. I know tells went back and forth, and in the end, I had to go to Cnet anyway, to get home. So I traded him his stupid scythe, while informing him, that he was banned from my shop, and I would appreciate it, if he never contacted me again.

I really wanted to destroy the scythe, just to teach him a lesson, but I would come out the worse person then. He was just a weird guy, who didn't pau enough attention to information given.

Sorry for the long post, I've been wanting to vent for some time

Ohhhhh I've got a new one.Happened 2 nights ago.

I'm in the Theed bank next to the medical center putting some canape and accarragm up on the bazaar.I'm wearing my master tailor tag and because I must have gone insane, had turned on the 'Make my character searchable' option. In comes the tell....(this was my first character costume from a movie order)I dont really remember how it went, seeing as how I lost interest after trading the items to him.And yes, this is NOT the way he said it because as we all know, some people cant be bothered to learn to spell.

Him:'Can you make me a Han outfit?'

Me: *CRAP* 'Sorry I've never had an order for a Han or Luke outfit. So I dont know the names of the clothing that would closely match it.Unless you know'

Him: 'No I have no idea'

(I asked in guildchat if anyone knew and got an answer.I really should have just let it go)

Me: A friend gave me the names of the clothes.I can make it for you.

Him: Oh great

(I make the items, the EXACT items in the exact colors my friend from the guild told me.She had made this outfit countless times and never got a complaint. So I make them, then tell him the total. We open up the trade window and make the exchange. He puts on the clothes)

Him: Uhhh...Suya?Could you make the right shirt?

Me: *WHAT* That is the right shirt.A friend gave me the list of clothing and thats the shirt she always made when making this outfit for other players'

Him: *Doesnt hear a word I say* I'm gonna tab out to check the name

Me: *And you couldnt have done that BEFORE I made the clothes?!Some people just expect you to know everything*

I put some more drinks and canape up on the bazaar while I wait for the blathering idiot to come back. Then I sit there and make him wait for me to answer.I know it was mean, but hey if we have to put up with them, they have to put up with us.

He tells me the name of the shirt he wants made.I make it and he asks how much.I normally charge 1500 for the type of shirt he wanted but seeing as how he had a hard time comprehending and spelling everything,I thought 500 creds more for having to put up with all of this was fair. Not to mention I lost resources from the first shirt I made that he didnt like and probably deleted.

Him:2k?Cant you make it 1k for me?

Me: No,I dont drop prices (I inflate them for morons like you)

Him: Please.I thought you were going to make the right shirt the first time.

Me: (like I'm gonna drop the price after you insult me) I DID make the right shirt.Thats the shirt everyone else who asked for that outfit got from my friend who made those clothes hundreds of times. If you dont like the price dont buy it.

He puts the money in the trade window and we exchange again.Doesnt say another word, just turns around and leaves. If he never comes back to me again I'll be happy. My regulars know that I dont over charge.Heck I dont charge for certain items because I never make them for sale. They also know that if you help me a little and are civilized about it,it goes a LONG way into you getting what you want faster. So if he went and badmouthed me anywhere I know I wont lose business.

Gotta love the life of a tailor.....

I just grinded my way to Novice Shipwright and no more than 10 minutes later, got an idiot......

Idiot: Can you make me a ship?

Me: What kind of ship?

Idiot: The one Han Solo flew

Me: The Millinium Falcon?

Idiot: Yes, can you make it?

Me (after checking the skills learned): Sorry, I don't have the skill yet, I am just a novice Ship Wright and I need to grind my way to master

Idiot: Well could you kind of hurry, I have to log out in about 30 minutes

** clearly thios buffoon does not know it takes more than 30 minutes to grand to master **

Me: Don't think I can grind all the way from Novice to Master in 30 minutes. 1st of all, it's time consuming, not to mention I need some materials

Idiot (15 minutes later): Got my ship yet?

Me: At the rate I am going, I will prolly make Master by tomorrow and I can have your ship then.

Idiot: But I already said I am logging off in a few. Please hurry

** At this point, I am getting a little bit miffed **

Idiot (5 minutes later): Hey I am at xxx xxx. Bring my ship over here

Me (thinking this was a set-up, because nobody could be this damned dense): I already told you, I cannot make that kind of ship until I am Master. If you want, I will put one in my vendor for you.

Idiot: I guess that's OK, but I only have 5000 creds. Can you cut me a discount?

Me (getting very angry): No.

Idiot: Why not?

** No answer from me **

Idiot: I am waiting for my ship

Me: This is the last time I am going to tell you, I cannot make that kind of ship until I reach Master

Idiot: Then take off your ShipWright Tag until you can do something useful with it

Back again with yet ANOTHER installment of "Phael'yn's Phollies...

Since the last episode, I have dropped Shipwright as my profession, dumped all my saved up resources on a vendor, and have started to use my harvesters to seek out "good" spawns. I did this to beef up my Combat, and it's NOT that i still get tells DAILY asking "Hey, can you make me a ship?" - Which i do.. It's that even selling something as simple as Resources can get it's share of strange requests. As such, this happened yesterday:

Player X: "Hey - Great prices on those resources! I was wondering if you happened to have the following things" (Sends a shopping list of WAY out of shift resources)

Me: "I have a couple of those on the vendor - The rest are out of shift - I don't have em"

Player X: "Yeah, I see a couple of em. Why is X Copper 10 cpu when Y Copper is only 1.5cpu?"

Me: (Thinking it's a new player) "Copper X is long out of shift - At 10cpu I still am lower than all of the others that still have some of it. Y Copper is 1.5cpu because it's Grind quality"

Player X: Well DUH. I know what Grind quality means. Why are you selling the EXACT SAME TYPE of Copper for 2 different prices!"

Me: (Same?) Y Copper is NOT the same as X Copper. X Copper is very high conductivity and SR, and as such, is worth more to me. Just because they are both the same TYPE doesn't mean they are the same copper all around"

Player X: "Oh, ok. What about the rest of my list? Have any of those?"

Me: "Nope, sorry - those are long gone"

Player X: "Well, can't you go out and mine more of them? I REALLY Want Copper X, Steel X and Iron X - Those have the best stats... I want to make UBER weapons!"

Me: "Umm... Out of shift means you CAN'T mine them anymore - They are gone forever, never to return"

Player X: "Look, I may be new - but I KNOW you can pick to mine whatever you want! EVERYONE in my guild tells me so! So, go mine some for me, I'll pay you 1cpu"

Me: "Your Guild is telling you wrong - Once a spawn shifts out, you CAN'T mine the SPECIFIC resource anymore. I can look for the same TYPE, but not the same NAME. And I'll be happy to mine some of them for you, but my proce for contract mining is 3cpu, no exceptions"

Player X: "This is complete BS, My guild knows more than YOU do. They have been playing this game since launch! So excuse me if I know you're full of S**T! And 3cpu? S***W you, jerk - you're just trying to rip a new player off!"

At this point, I start getting repeat tells of how bad I am, how much I don't know, how evil I am, etc, etc. For some reason, I don't just /addignore the guy.

A couple hours later, i am out checking my harvesters placed on Tatooine, and sure enough, there is the guy surveying around my harvesters. I think to myself "At least he'll see that the ones he asked about really aren't there anymore" - Boy, was I wrong. Here is my VERY NEXT tell from the guy after he sees me by my harvesters..

Player X: "What did you do, put your harvesters on the ONLY spot we can get those resources from? I'm calling a CSR!"

Sheesh. /addignore

OMG

Sweet justice. I would LOVE to read the conversation between that player and the poor CSR who got stuck with him.The moron was probably told the same thing you told him IF a CSR would give something that stupid the time of day.If he finally understood what was being said to him,I bet he felt really stupid about what he said.Oh yes....reading that conversation would be the BEST post I'd ever read.
