Thread: CSR reports merchants tent must be destroyed to transfer

Tried getting this done today. My guild is swapping around management of our mall and I'm taking over. My alternate will be holding down the lots and I'll be running the business (this will leave me spots for harvestors of course).

Submitted a CSR ticket and was told "It would be too much of an investment of CSR time to help players in moving. Get some guildmates to give you a hand."

My response included the following statement "My concern is not with inconvenience to CSRs but rather to players. I'd require 12+ guildmates with empty inventories who were willing to waste at least an hour if not more while multiple vendors were being restocked."

I have faith that this will be changed... I'm just throwing my hat in as one of the un-pleasently surprised customers in hopes it might speed along a response.

Keep up the good work.

I tried transfering my tent to another player as well (with vendors in it) and encountered the same problem. This was on Flurry.

My friend did /transferstructure the same tent to me in Pub 8 and obviously it did work back then.

Would submitting a ticket help? I don't know anymore since we always get the usual replies. I kinda gave up on the ticket system ages ago.

And the fact that the devs are very busy with JTLS, I am betting that this problem would get sidetracked for sometime.

What really *really* amazes me about this whole issue is how on earth did this bug ever get into Live even if it was unintentional. (and other sneaky bugs like the recent Halva problem)

Do SOE Devs perform post mortems on their own patches? Or try to reduce the number of new bugs introduced into the system? From what I observe of their testing procedures is that they code till a certain dateline, put it on TC and then release the floodgates. There does not exist any proper and formalised testing. We always read about TH and pals having meetings, always busy with lots of meetings etc... would one of these meetings ever be a patch post mortem discussion?

Sorry but I had to rant abit on this. Personally I am not too upset about this bug, but I do understand how those who are more seriously affected feel, I am a merchant after all. IMHO, SOE should implement some formalised / rigourous / regression based test plans and have dedicated test teams to sandbox in the TCs before even letting players stress test the TCs. I am sure if they asked and formed a small, cohersive and mature group of testers, it would ease future publishes and probably even save their programmers some future headaches. On top of that, their internal schedules should contain a debrief on the publishes when they go Live - this would be prior to even debugging any new problems that were introduced.

Again I apologise for this long post, and most of it is commenting on the Devs themselves. I do hope at least part of my post verfied that this bug exists and needs to be highlighted to the Devs.

They are aware of the situation and the issues it is creating. I'll give you more information when I have it.

I know everyone is busy Doc.

But would you please prod them again on this issue. I really want my lots back and people want to own their own tents without moving all their goods with multiple players involved.

If you have a lot of items on your vendors, but do not have enough inventory, this is what you can do.

Go get some backpacks. Fill it up. Go offer it onto somone else's vendor temporarily for 9999999999 credits. You can do this x 25 = 1250items max. Friends can help too if you have more items than 1250. Once your vendor is empty, kill it. Transfer structure.

Hopefully the DEVs will come up with a more permanent solution, not a work-around for this. And also, if you intend on doing this, do it soon, before the Devs decide tonerf backpacks, makingeach item in the backpack count towards thevendor cap.

I hope this helps... and good luck!

My ticket is responded as 'We can transfer structure if both players are available on your request' meaning if person who has structure and person who WILL have the structure (which is a house in that matter) could be transfered by CSR's..

FIX THIS!! We're trying to transfer 4 tents, with a total of 12 vendors (various owners). I've been waiting for days.
