yup.
I put my vendors up, can't see 'em anywhere. Can't see any player vendors on the bazaar at all. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think so. The bazaar looks the same as it ever did.

This is in the patch notes but I'm not seeing any new options on my vendor. I take it the patch notes are a warning that it is about to go live today?
Also, on the subject of this patch making part of Merchant useless and thereby prompting people to suggest that it be moved higher in the tree, I think part of the reason that it is low in the tree is in order to allow people with my template or similar (Master Smuggler/AS/Merch xxx4) to be on there and still have enough vendors to run a business. I agree it is about time merchant went the same way as Politician, as the CU will likely bring an end to the necessity of stacker templates, so lots of people will have the SP to go combat and crafter, meaning the SP burden of Merchant will be far less worthwhile.

With the pages swamped with goods, it means people may write off the search as the end-all of finding wht they want, and keep on going to the people they know and trust.
That is what I, personally, am counting on.
This could have been win-win for merchants and customers.
Instead, it's just a mess that doesn't really benefit anyone.

I see the point about the merchant SP, I think it SHOULD go the way of the politician. However, I like the new system, I think it'll drive prices down and make things affordable for all. Before you hit me with the idea that we won't be making as much money as we used to, it won't matter since things will cost less anyway, so it'll all work out.
The only thing that is constant in this game is change. You can read any board for any profession and everybody thinks the devs are out to get them. They aren't out to "get" anyone, they're just making changes that people ask for. You can't please all of the people all of the time.
This is a game folks, not real life. I don't understand the CONSTANT complaints. If it's not fun, don't play.
I'm a merchant and have sold a ton today after the changes went into effect, maybe that's why I'm not as bitter about the change.

dont know about you guys, but i have 2500 piece of armor up on my vendors starting with -=Mauro=-.... then the trademark (Medium-Stun...Leviathan...NS-Hunter etc)..... so I can effectively bury 80% of the other smiths on my server (actually there are about 4-5 big sellers now... we'll all be competing for seach page space now lol)
from a buyer's perspective this thing is great for resource hunting... i already made 20 million today in resource buying.... (doc stuff...gonna resell
)
so in my opinion, things couldnt be better.
Oh, and I'll be damned if I lower my prices. Quality is important in armor, and my armor is some of the best unsliced available. People recognize this and when the see the big fat -=Mauro=- infront of product they'll know what to expect lol.

Except you can't really, because all the sort options will only sort the one page that is being displayed and not the whole category. So the "=Mauro=" may get you at the top of page 28 if the person sorts by name, but not necessarily page 1, 2, or 10. If there are 10 other serious armorsmiths like you putting up 2500 items and then another 20 semi-serious crafters with 500 items a piece and then 100 other armorsmith grinders or even artisans putting every piece of bone or mabari they craft on a vendor, finding your items will bemore a matter of luck or patience than anything you have done.

Well, I listed my 6 vendors with 2000+ items but I just couldn't stomach going to the bazaar and trying to find my own listings.
*shudder*
I'll see what happens when I sign on tomorrow. I did very well today without the search function enabled, so I have a good comparison.
This should be interesting...

Do people have to come to your shop to pick up the items? Or do they just buy and recieve the item off the bazaar?

They have to come to the shop to buy them. If they can find your shop in the mass of junk that will be making the searching in this system such a pain. As someone already pointed out on their Galaxy there were 50 pages of factory crates.

Did you click the "Vendor Listing" tab on the right?
bleh. i'm a galaxy wide vendor search NOOB. I did that, but the search didn't show anything becuse it was set to "region." I tried again, and did this planet, and galaxy. The region doesn't work bz it's in an NPC area, and so nothing will pop up. That was very dumb of them to include. Anyway, I figured it out, my stuff is up there.

I was on around 11am, and the factory crates were at 41 pages. 11am and 41 pages. Subtract the dzens of items that get carried over from page to page and I bet it was still 35 pages. 11am, before many people had gotten off work and registered their vendors.
I forsee the /sit;/stand; macro will be making a comeback. I spent about 45 minutes browsing through stuff, and if I did not run that macro, I very well may have been booted, lol.
One good thing came of my time, something I can honestly say was directly because of the changes. I found a vendor on Rori (you know, that moon around Naboo?) selling packaged sets of Ubese amor. Didnt buyas I am not in the market, but I know a couple guild mates were, so I sent them the waypoint. Other than that, all I saw was a LOT of disgustingly overpriced loot. And about 10 thousand rug parts.
I am looking forward to logging in tomorrow and seeing how many pages its at now that most people have had a chance to turn on the feature.

Yep, I've actually seen a positive affect of this. My resource vendor is prided for rare and valuable minerals. My resource sales have tripled in one day. Though all my other vendors haven't seen a single purchase.
12 hours of server uptime, and the furniture category alone has 45 pages. Generic item? 75 pages! I got tired of clicking the next button on factory crates to keep a count.
Only people that click the next button that many times either are looking for a good deal to throw on their own vendor for a profit, or are really picky about what they're looking for!
