Thread: Vendor changes coming

Vendors that have been left empty or abandoned for two weeks will be deleted (owner will receive a warning message prior to deletion).

Does this mean that if we go on holiday for a fortnight, all our vendors will be lost? Or are only empty vendors affected. A definition of "abandoned" is needed.

My concern as well.


Not to jump the gun on some very early numbers, but I could live with the vendor limits shown if a pack counted as one item. I could get away with selling full suits in packs, and still stock a decent amount of loose pieces on another vendor.


If pack contents count toward the limit I'll be restocking every other night. With the clumsy interface I don't look forward to doing that.

Instead of fixing the merchant profession and making it easier to resell stuff, they totally screw the merchants with the stupidest insult I have yet seen in this game.


Merchants are going to quit selling and the very very few who stick it out are going to have to raise prices because those of us who provide resources through our vendors are going to quit resource extracting.


At first it'll seem great. We resource extractors who are now going to quit the business are going to sell out rather cheaply. But, what are the crafters going to do when there are no more sellers of resources? Think they will go extracting for themselves? Some will, most will not. Those who do can't afford the shop lots for the extractor lots.


Stupid stupid stupid devs. They are about to see yet another massive exodus of paying customers.

Ok! DocSavage I'll be the first to pose an alternative.


Raise item limit to 1000 at Master Merchant and make it so that the item limit is independent from the number of vendors.


In other words you could have one vendor with 1000 items on it if you wished at Master.


I'm willing to compromise.

Don't expect the number to double or triple though. They aren't kidding about limiting the number of items you can have for sale. Its going to be a challenge from this point forward to keep vendors stocked.

Doc, even double/tripleis not acceptable for 6 vendors. And what constiutes as a an item count? I mentioned in an above post that I sell buffs bundled in backpacks - if that is now 7 items, I'll be spending all my time stocking vendors instead of enjoying the game.


I can't believe I'm saying this because I've been playing MMPRPG games for a long time before SWG. They implement this, I'm gone. I've never said that before in reaction to a game publish (of any game), but this is intolerable. They are putting thier database over the enjoyment of the game for their customers. If being a merchant means that any free time I have to play the game is stocking my vendor, then I can't see how I can possibly enjoy this game. So therefore, being a Merchant means ... you can't do anything else unless you play the game 4 to 8 hours a day.


They are not seeing the big picture from the customer's point-of-view! Especially, the casual to semi-casual gamer.

At least all the crafting professions are up in arms over this. Some of their correspondents seem quite angry, which is encouraging. Hopefully together we can fight this thing.

hon, I don't think you understand...

doc wants these numbers to be higher. however, the devs have their implementation and don't want to change it. telling doc about all this wouldn't help, he already knows

Wow! I just saw this and am very unhappy!! I have over 1700 items on my resource vendor mainly because I break down the resources so the players with a small bankroll can afford to buy things.

This may be the breaking point for me leaving also as my main enjoyment is being a businessman and working deals!

I am truly amazed the Devs find more ways to get people to cancel their accounts. This hurts customers as much as the Merchants....


We already know the Devs have no Common Sense, but this is borderline MEAN....




And is the database really that limited? I mean with tens of thousands and tens of thousands of people already left and leaving AND the upcoming Account Purge, why in the world ruin the entire merchant/crafting business for those that are still PAYING CUSTOMERS....boggles the mind.




BTW, my sig doesn't show it, but I have a Master Merchant/Master Doctor account as well.....for now.....

What a total Joke.


Why are the Devs Wasting time fixing things that do not need fixing.


They are crying that that do not have the resoucses, Developers to fix Combat Balance and they go pull this Crap on use.


Yes they need to not let peeps have vendors who should not have them, but to placing the quanities to such a low level is a joke. Please tell me it is not so.


They are out of the minds and are clueless.



Increase the Vendor limets 10 fold min.
