Personally, I don't think we have any critical issues, let alone a "#1 Critical Issue". OK, barker droids don't work right, but none of the droids do right now (thanks to the devs doing really thorough regression testing on droids after making the extensive changes they did to pets).

If people in agreement with the notion that we don't have any critical issues, can we move on? While there may not be anything critically wrong that prevents us from being merchants and doing it well, there are scads of feature requests and improvements that players have been making for a long time. I have seen a lot of good ideas floated in a variety of discussions, but haven't seen any effort to forward the merchant profession.

If the devs don't have plans to improve the merchant profession, then can we at least request that they greatly reduce the skill point requirements, because it is almost hardly worth the skill points we spend on it.

No.
This request is specifically for critical issues and not for feature requests and enhancements.
While there may be nothing specific that prevents merchants from being merchants, would you rather nothing that's broken get fixed?

So the options are:
1) Bug fixes
2) Nothing

While it may not be what we want, it IS what the Devs are willing to work on right now.

It's not so much an 'eat and be happy' gift from the devs. It's more like 'take this scrap and be less miserable'.

It's not what we want or have been asking for for years, but it's what they'll give us.

Exactly. And it's also the first time I've seen them specifically ask "what's broken?"

When the resource bug was first introduced, you saw how long it took to get that fixed.

I don't know if they had been working on it all along or not, but I do know that it was fixed shortly after the first time they specifically asked what our critical issues were.

Email Generation -on time generation, correct items listed, correct vendor name,

emails need to be 'sent' even if vendor is not 'live'

{It actually is vendor loading that is my next concern,butI understnd when that was changed and why..they are not in world til called.}

Since many vendor things don't happen until it loads, I'm trying to have that dealt with separately as a feature request/improvement.

I still see that as a bug - not a feature improvement. I don't really care about the game mechanics, how vendors are coded, or when the vendor is 'part of the universe'. My vendor should be listed on the global search and on the overhead map at all times (not some random time after server reset, based on what other people do in the game).

If it's a feature improvement, they'll happily ignore it forever. If it's a bug, they may get around to fixing it (I hear they have moved fixing bugs up the priority list now). And really, this is a bug.

The reason I don't consider it a bug is because it's working the way it's supposed to.

Is it a good system? No.

Does it need to be improved? Definitely.

On the other hand, if they continue to fix the "critical" bugs we'll eventually run out (assuming they don't introduce more) and a little creative wording can work wonders.
