Thread: What Is Our #1 Critical Issue?

I say we "take one for the team". SPecifically, we say there are no "critical, game-breaking bugs" in Merchant. Why pass on some potential attention from the Devs? Because we dont have anything in that narrow category. So instead, lets back out and let the Devs take those few extra labor-hours and put it into some of the other profs... namely the crafting professions.

When (if)they ask us about feature requests, we might be able to use this "sacrifice" to get some real work done instead of stuff we didnt want done.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

It's not an either/or situation.
They haven't asked just for merchant bugs, they've asked for everyone's.
Everything is being worked on, and if we say "Nope, no bugs for us" they'll just move right along to the next thing.

Don't kid yourself... there's no such thing as "sacrifice now for reward later."

I say you go with the "issues with dressing vendors"

And tell TH I said he still owes me a fix for the %TT thing since he said it was working and he was wrong.

My number one issue is my vendors (and skill trainers for that matter) suddenly taking union work breaks without so much as a by your leave (disappearing out of the blue).

I know the conditions that cause mine to disappear, which is more four or more characters in the same area as them and the skill trainers. The more characters that congregate, the more of my vendors and skill trainers go on break. Since I have not hit the magic number (at least when I've been around to see it), I do not know if this still is an issue or not.

This is highly irritating because it would be nice to host large gatherings again at my Estate, /and/ have the vendors stay there for the potential business.

Yes, I'm on a server boundry, which I know contributes to this irritating habit of my lazy salespeople.

As a side note, with the stock limits set as to how much we have up, and with the code for inactive vendors being no sales or new merchandise... why have the stock drop off anymore at all? When it was unlimited amounts, I could see the need for forcing restocking. But with the code changes that went in awhile ago, could we just do away with this utterly annoying time sink? With the time I have to devote to restocking two sets of vendors at my business from two merchant characters, I could actually put that time into evaluating my stock and managing it in other ways. But empty vendors would never happen... perhaps, but if they were never touched either, they would still get marked for termination, yes? (End morning ramble.)

Bug - While they fixed the resource bug, they introduced the vendor email bug (where you get a bunch of codestrings in addition to the regular info - at least for resource sales) - really messes up 3rd party tools like Merchant's friend.

However, I gotta disagree with the point of view that the lack of a relist button or a greater than 30 day restock cycle is not a game breaking issue. If anything is "killing" or "breaking" this prof, it has gotta be the dreaded monthly timesink of restocking - its like PMS for merchants. Sigh.

1. Stop dropping things of Vendors, nothing should drop off my vendor until I sale it or remove it. This only leads to Empty Vendors and piss of players who can not get stuff, of course not as bad as it was with the 7 day timer, this still adds nothing to the game by dropping stuff off vendors, except make work.

2. Give proper warning before venders go poof, Min of 7 day warning via Email and Onscreen warning, best to be a 30 day warning, but if the Devs to item 1 then Vendors going poof will go away.

3. Fix Loot and Cratestacking so it can be restack and that those numbers show on Vender.
