The clicky points to this thread not the new one.

Screenshot (how do I make a clicky here?):
No point in showing the description screen for an item off of search,
it's the exact same as it is now.
My improvement ideas:
a) Do not show the custom name of the items, but just allow showing the default name. That way, people can't just write the prices in the item name.
b) Remove prices even if double-clicked and possibly replace them with a rather broad price range (1-5k, 5k-25k etc. or something like that).
c) Institute some kind of payment for the service of listing your vendor on the search system, whether it's a percentage of sales from the vendor or a fixed price. Then put skills in Merchant boxes to reduce the price/percentage, with Master Merchant paying either a symbolic price or getting the service free of charge.

Yep. Instant Galactic Advertising at Business III now. The entire Advertising tree is really pointless at this point. There is no reason to have it. Even the tent is a waste of time. Who cares what structure your pick up vendor is sititng in?
Yeah, now even planetary registration is useless now and who needs a droid barking if you can spam better than any droid? If they would have put the droid certification much lower then people would have an easier time advertising and you have happier customers. It just does not make sence this new feature is such more powerful yet set at the lowest skill level possible.
If people know a good weaponsmith they will likely still just keep shopping there, and the same with most other profusions. It still do not change that the advertisement line just became much less useful.

a) yay, getting the details on say, a 100 items 'cause the stats are no longer in the name. That'll kill the vendor search right away
b) People are lazy, they're not going to spend an hour at the bazaar to save 5 to 50k on an item. You can make more money by buying the first good gun you see and do missions the rest of the time. (Example: a full crate of 4-charge batteries powers a droid for 400 hours. Anyone going fast through those crated is using a combat, medical or harvest droid and making plenty of money in that 400 hours so I feel 25k a crate is not to much too ask, works down to 250cr for each hour you use a droid. The vendor 1m away from mine sells the same quality batteries for iirc 3k. Move 1m, save 22k. Yet I'mrestocking batteries weekly. Some would call this price gouging, I call it common business sense)
c) Raised vendor maintenance would be the way do implement that, I'd prefer to see the ability to list your vendor somewhere high up in merchant. From visiting vendors with no items we'll go to browsing lists full of crappy items. If anyone with business 3 can get on it. Advertising tree would be the perfect candidate, nerfed and fixed in one go ![]()
Why are you so afraid of the ability to list prices? I can understand listing all the prices in a column is an open invite to pricewars but this is a compromise I can live with.

Yes I suppose even this abomination has a silver lining. Mabye I'll convert my merchant to a Scout with Business III and sell my organics on the Galactic bazaar....
