So did they remove the purchase long distance option? The patch notes only say that search is enabled. Nice how they went straight to test center this time w/out letting us see the changes first. Heh.

Nor does it say whether or not it's skill based.
I really think it the ability should be placed in the Merchant Skill Tree.

It also doesnt say specifically if players can browse the Galaxy from only the public bazaars in Dev cities, or if they can see other crafter's goods from my vendor.

I have a feeling this is exactly the same thing they originally posted. I have a feeling merchant is being transitioned like politician from a proffession to an addition skill set open to everyone at no SP or very little. I hate to seem cyncial but again, no warning, this time they didn't even give a heads up at alltill they threw it on TC. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Ok, I'm on Test now, at a Bazaar Terminal. There's a new tab called "Vendor Location." It has a very comprehensive "tree," it looks like it's the same one the Bazaar has. (No Furniture tree, no crates being listed in the appropriate category instead of just "Factory Crates.")
You click down to find what you want--there is no text string search. When you open up, say, weapons, it'll show you all weapons. You can sort by ITEM NAME, ITEM TYPE, LOCATION, DISTANCE (in meters) and ENTRY FEE. (I think that last one is a great addition!) Just like on the bazaar, you can search regionally, planetwide, or galaxy-wide.
Note: Distance is available only for items on the planet you're on. Location is stll listed for items not on your current planet.
If you see what you want--say a CDEF Carbine--you can click "Create Waypoint" and it will add it to your datapad.
Prices *ARE* still there, but you have to open up the item's description to see how much it is. You CANNOT SORT BY PRICE! YAY! I'm willing to take that as a reasonable compromise, as it means price wars are minimized, adjustments will be more reasonable, and buyers can still make sure that the item costs no more than they're willing to pay--no driving to a city only to find out it's a stored harvester for 9999999.
It's lookin' better. Now to find out what it takes to get listed.
