Thread: Changed again, can have all items on 1 vendor if you want

AMAZMENT, SHOCK, (picks jaw up off keyboard), Thoroughly surprised they changed this before it went live. Hats off to SOE. I was seriously thinking about quitting the game over this, and I've been hardcore playing everyday for at least 8 hours for the 10 months I've had the game.

After this 'catastrophe' and the mess that was 'supposed' to be Wookiee armor.... I am convinced the devs create this crap to make us think they're doing a good job and that our opinions matter. I mean, how was the previous interation going to NOT piss people off? Im starting to believe this was their original plan all along and the previous one mentioned was so we would have something worse to compare the 'real' version to versus previously having NO limits.


And Wookiee armor in its current form sucks for ingredients, but "at least it doesn't use corellian wooly and dantooine horn like it was supposed to!"


Puh-lease.

Twelve vendors is an improvement over six. Six vendors wasn't enough for my needs before. Now I canhire several vendor sales representativesfor each shop, each selling a different type of weapon.


I don't think "nerf" is the right term for a change that's an improvement.

I can perfectly live wWith those changes... Even though I think the Item Limit you get just from Management 4 are still a bit too high. But hell, if that means 4000 items spread over 12 vendors however you like as Master... I can live with that...

I can live with these changes, but I'm still closing down my Tailor shop. It just isn't worth all those skill points to sell items that retail for so little. I'll continue to sell Aeife's BE enhanced clothing and Niamb's meds, since they actually turn a profit. Any tailored items beyond BE will be special order only. I can't see giving up the buff tree in Dancer (with exquisite leotard she gives an 80% mind buff), which makes money since she also have Master Musician so Aeife can sell an array of matching dress shoes for various outfits.


To be honest, I didn't have much of a tailor shop to begin with and it was a pain to keep it restocked....again, when there is so little profit in tailored items beyond BE enhanced items.

As a Master Merchant these I no longer regard these changes as a nerf at all. If anything this will now overall be nice boost for me.

Finally some common sense.


Yes, I'm still frustrated, this see-saw, roller-coaster we have to go through with quite a good number of changes SOE proposes is really quite taxing! *WE* shouldn't have to be doing the design thinking for a team that is quite obviously out of touch with the state of the game at the most fundamental level. We're not talking a deep, complex, esoteric change, we're taking about something as simple as the number of items each person can own\sell at a time.

1. When is this thing going live? If there's still a lot of items on the vendor, will it 'disappear' once this goes live?


2. Does this mean the end of things sold in 'single' quantity?


3. What are we going to do for storage space because like you all know, this game doesn't provide enough storage space for players in the big business of supplying things.


This just forces players to have more than one account if we were to have master merchant and still want to have fun. Removing empty vendors and striking them off planetary map is A GREAT IDEA but the rest just isn't right! I am a doctor with swordsman for some combat, this does not give me enough skill points to learn Artisan III, so what does this mean? No master combat prof for us anymore? Like I said, this only gives us no choice but to create another character for USD15/month.

Hey, this is MUCH better than what they proposed, and I am thrilled that master merchants actually have a reason to BE master merchant. All else is just sour grapes...

thankyou SOE and SWG Devs for listening to all our reactions to the merchant nerf, your new limits are both acceptable and reasonable and I can not see them doin any harm to the profession like the initially proposed limits would have. Thanks for not cuttin the balls off every merchant and allowin us artisans to still have fun and survive.


Kudos to whoever was responsible for this last revamp of a frightening and devastating blow to merchants and turned it into an actually well thought of idea. Take lessons SOE an SWG this is how you revamp and make modifications to a game universe a nice easy well formed plan not rucshing at a profession with a butcher knife loppin limps off.

You may not want to take all the credit, but you were a driving force for the aggregate limits. Now I'm really looking forward to these changes. In fact, I can't wait to try out a couple extra vendors selling some stuff on the side of my regular business.


Although it's not our re-vamp, its seems a step in the right direction. Finally merchantes will be able to claim our birthright (vendors will be OUR tools again). Also, since we now have a new vendor system, I think this is a better foundation for our re-vamp. Since they can focus on improving our profession rather thanfixing the expoloits when our turn finally comes.
