That's what I do to alleviate my storage problems.

I take all these hundreds of crates and put them on the vendors priced at the same rate as a single item.

If I run out of single items, I pull out a crate, break it open, and list all the items individually.

If I sell the crate, that's fine too... it cost the same as 10 individual units.

I sell a LOT of crates of furniture.

If things crate at 25-50, I'll divide them into smaller crates depending on what the item is.

I had to stop doing this with swoops, tho. People would buy me out faster than I could produce more. At least they stack at 50 and are relatively easy to store.

Bottom line is, don't "store" your crated stuff... put it on sale.

If it sells, fantastic!

If it doesn't, at least you've reduced your "relisting load" significantly.

Doc,

I spent 39 hours (over a sat and sunday) "moving" my vendors .. 4100 items.. delisting them.. them transferring the items to my inventory.. then relisting them .. because of this pathetic interface. The 1500 items "delisted" after 30 days because i bought a lot of furniture from an architect.. he sold it to me uncrated.. again.. took us 3 days to complete the transaction.

There is so much that could be done with this interface, simply, to help us. Your a corospondant, does anyone listen when you ask for things ? I'm getting pretty fed up with trying to manage things this way. I'm having a baby.. getting married.. and changing jobs.. and it seems i'll have to cancel both my accounts because i just dont have time to manage my business because it takes me DAYS to move stock, to relist stock or to buy stock.

I'm a pretty patient person.. but i just dont understand how SOE can ignore things like this for so long, yet we get a shiny new launch pad. quite frankly fsck the launchpad, make it so i can list multiple items at once... god its probably a simple code change..i can select multiple items.. i can hit sell.. all that remains is for it to actually LIST those items at that price!!.. please!! save my sanity !!

I'd really like to be able to move vendors too.. i have to move again soon, 160 m to a guild hall.. not looking forward to it.. another whole weekend.. or more.. wasted.

I am also disapointed that a coraspondent would jump to such a conclusion as you have in your earlier post doc.
The point being is that whether its 100 items or 1500 items its a pain to relist items on personal vendors. I don't think that there should be time limits on personal vendor's. It is your own personal store you should be able to make your own rules. We who have stores spend alot (almost all) of our ig time setting up and upkeaping our store and pride ourselve on them just as much.
Yes Doc you are entitled to your opinion but remember please that you are our host for SWG. We are you customer's. Would you ever accuse your real life customers of anything against your personal beliefs? I would hope not because you would be losing customers very quickly. If I ever found out one of my employees IRL ever insulted a customer there would be hell to pay especially when they were only asking an inocent question.
I am truly sorry for the Rant I don't mean to sound like a jerk... but this in my opinion really needed to be said.
Thank you for realising that there is a problem here.
Cheers
Arlon

Let me be very clear. You are NOT my customer. We are peers. I am a merchant just like you. I pay my $15 per month just like you. I don't host this forum I volunteer my time to help the community by brining the issues and suggestions of the community to the devs. Those suggestions and issues are brought to the devs without reguard to my personal belief in them but in any discussion I will maintain my right to speak my mind.

And anyone that doesn't give Doc the benefit of the doubt on a misconception is just foolish. He works hard for us, don't screw up a good thing.

I can readily see how this works. Just 10 of everything relevant on Artisan/Architect would place me in the 1200 range alone. If I only have 10 heavy gas harvestors on the vendor when that once a year rare gas hits I'm cut out. Factory runs are too slow to fill the gap. I have 12 structure factories on the ground and IF I could redirect allof them on a dime it would still take a minimum of 48 hours BEFORE the restock would occur.

Storage is the true limitation of this game. Nothing else compares.

I am truly sorry Doc. I was under the understanding as I am sure many are that you guys were devs with assigned forums. So sometimes it comes across as a disgruntled dev instead of just another gamer.

I take back what I have said and thank you for your time.

Again I am truly sorry

Its ok. This is all about nothing anyway. My personal opinion about whether 1500 items expiring all at once is a storage thing or not isn't relevant anyway. Thats just my personal playstyle. The point of this post is that the ability to put things back up for sale needs to be easier. We all agree on that.

If I had to list the worst things about being a Merchant, this problem would be number 1 on the list. Relisting product is so time consuming that I am struggling to stay in the game. How hard can it be to program a button that relists all the items in the storage room at the same price they were listed as before? I can probably do the DB calls and pseudo-code in my head. I understand JTL is comming out but this issue has been on the lists for the Merchants since day one. I get the feeling that the devs are simply giving us the finger and doing what they want, when they want and banking on the fact that Star Wars has 30 years of a fan base. They simply don't care, or don't care to show it.

I've seen no evidence of this evern in any conversation I've ever had with a SWG dev. They are bright people who are passionate about this game. I disagree with them frequently about all sorts of things but I have never doubted their desire to make this the best game on the market. Don't confuse scheduling and resource management with lack of compassion about the issues.

I try to keep 100 heavy minerals,100 heavy florals, 50 heavy waters, 100 heavy gas, 100 deep crust chems, 50 fusions, 50 or so houses, at least 5 hospitals and a variety of town deeds available. Also, the mediums I try to keep 25 available of all types at the same time. It all comes out to about 750 deeds for normal stock. Also, I keep a LOT of parts available and the minute something good hits I start making those harvestors.

This doesn't include any of the parts being stocked. BTW, we STILL cannot crate Ore Mining Units are 15 months.

are crateable.. and crated are different.

I have 12 vendors and over 4100 items.. alot of the furniture is singles because #1 thats how it was sold to me.. #2 thats how people like to buy it (i mean who buys a crate of 10 couches?)

Doc, I agree with you.. I dont think the devs are stupid, or ignoring us.. but I've yet to see someone acknowledge that this is a problem.. and say they are working on it.. it really is a simple thing to fix.. and its fixing things like this that is going to get people throwing accolades their way.. instead of ranting about how much it sucks ..

i'd just like to see first hand that they care.. i mean.. you say they do.. and you get to interact with them.. but i've yet to see them actually come out and acknowledge ANY of the issues ANY of the corrospondants have .. and fix them.

Sometimes i wish i had your job just so i could feel that something will get done about these issues.. cos rightnow i feel like were alone and no one at SOE gives a damn about anything but JTLS. (Of which i played for about 3 hours and have decided i wont waste my money).

i buy crates of furniture when decorating. If i'm shopping i'm buying lots of furniture and often need many duplicate items.. i hate buying 5 single items if I can buy and crate of 10 and just throw away the rest. The reason is inventory space. If i'm shopping, I want it and usually have a fully backpack.. inventory space is precious so i don't want those items taking up any more space than needed till I really need the items... and yes, I have been known to buy a crate of 10 and use one item and delete or give away the rest. working a new theme, some things work and some don't... I just had 60 cheap bookcases made to just *test* a new design for my pa hall.. luckily, now I use a personal architect.. but if I was shopping.. i wouldn't have wanted to buy 60 bookcases individually. Don't waste us rich people's time.. sell us crates!
