i'm goin insane..i've been at it an hour and a half now and this is NOT fun..

please please please please please allow us to select multiple items at once and set a price and post them all at once..

I feel for you bud I used to sell power up's way back when and they were more work than they were worth. Just because of this simple fact. I wrote a post very much like this one and woas told that the fix was coming............. That was over 7 months ago.

The easiest way around this I find is..... sell your goods within 30days lol

no honestly now i try very hard to offset 30 or so items a day over and over again untill it's done that way your never caught spending hours at your vendor terminal.

Please please if there are any dev's listening please find a cure soon.....

/bow to superman...... rest in peace my friend

The first question I have is why you have 1500 items that didn't sell in a month? The interface needs to be upgraded and hopefully that will happen in the coming months. But it sounds suspiciously like you are storing items not selling them.

Doc,

Hold on there, lots and lots of us carry large inventories over time. I sell furniture and the way I do it is I run a 50 item factory run of each item. Over time this lets me build up an inventroy and offer almost every item. This also means, I have a ton of stuff sitting there. Each month I probably have to re-list 400-500 items that didn't sell, and the more inventory I add the higher the number goes.

Please don't tell me that you really think a good merchant should never be relisting a large number of items. I know tons of resource dealers, tailors, loot sellers that do. Chefs are about the only people I know who sell out most of their inventory every month.

So far I think you have been an excellent correspondent, and your response on this is rather disappointing to me.

Also, if he was storing items, he should be smart enough to put them in packs, so he only has 30 items to deal with instead of 1500.

I don't agree with using the vendor to store items you aren't intending to sell. Its my opinion and I'm entitled to it just as you are entitled to yours.

Doc - I don't think anyone's arguing your right to an opinion or the actual opinion that you do hold, it's just lately you've seemed too quick to jump to the assumption that people who don't shift a lot of stock quickly must be using their vendors for storage. As a correspondent your word carries a lot of weight, whether you intend it or not, and accusations like that can hurt.

It was just an observation anyway. I already agreed that the inteface needs to be updated. That request is part of our issues list and the proposal for updating the interface.

if you are running a factory to produce 50 of X item, why are you listing ALL of them on the vendor.. leave some crated if they aren't selling.

Oh, that's easy. Let's look at just an AS for example. Most armor is 7 to 9 pieces for a suit. And there are, what? 7+ different types of armor?

So, one full example set is 50+ pieces. And that's before we even begin talking about layer customizations.

Better yet, let's assume that I specialize only in Composite Armor, and I offer Battle Armor (high Kinetic for PvP), Assault Armor (high Blast for attacking turrets/bases) and Field Armor (high Energy for PvE). Master Merchant limit of 4000 items divided by 9 pieces per suit, means 444 suits. That's less than 150 of each type of armor that you're carrying.

Even if he had only 100 of each of 3 types, that would still be 2700 items for his inventory. Sell 1200 and have to relist 1500 is still selling 40+% of his inventory... not bad in a month.

For me, the only reason I would have as little as 1500 to relist in a month is because I'm doing storage.

I am also disapointed that a coraspondent would jump to such a conclusion as you have in your earlier post doc.

The point being is that whether its 100 items or 1500 items its a pain to relist items on personal vendors. I don't think that there should be time limits on personal vendor's. It is your own personal store you should be able to make your own rules. We who have stores spend alot (almost all) of our ig time setting up and upkeaping our store and pride ourselve on them just as much.

Yes Doc you are entitled to your opinion but remember please that you are our host for SWG. We are you customer's. Would you ever accuse your real life customers of anything against your personal beliefs? I would hope not because you would be losing customers very quickly. If I ever found out one of my employees IRL ever insulted a customer there would be hell to pay especially when they were only asking an inocent question.

I am truly sorry for the Rant I don't mean to sound like a jerk... but this in my opinion really needed to be said.

Thank you for realising that there is a problem here.

Cheers

Dingo,

If I can have 5000 items listed why would I ever want to keep stuff in crates and not up for sale? If it is listed there is a chance it will sell, if I have it in reserve it can't be sold. Yes I realize I am going to have to spend time relisting it, but that is the tradeoff.

Doc, I think you are doing a great job, and I doubt I would ever want this job. I just wanted to make the point that I think the vast majority of vendors have significant stock that rolls over.

Keep up the good work.

if you are selling 50 of the identical same item, you should be selling them in crates as well as singles. I, and many others, would prefer to just buy a crate of what we need if the option is presented. I really don't see the need for 50 blue chairs listed individually. But that's just me.

I had crates of paintings on my vendor for months. I would pull them down extract singles and put the rest back up. I did this for a while but the crates were always priced to sell..even at a silght discount from buying them in singles. Guess what someone paid me like 200k for one of the crates the other day. Thats fine with me..saved me having to stock those individually.

I'm not suggesting that you shouldn't have any turnover or given 4k of items you shouldn't have a significant turnover in a months time. But if you come to me and say that you stocked 30 days ago and now you just had 1500 items roll off at the same time my opinion is that you are either using it for storage or that you are overstocking. You should run out of some items and have to restock during the course of the month. If you are doing everything at once and stocking to such levels that you have 1500 more items every month than you sell then I have issues with that from a standpoint of stocking practices. Its just my play style but I have trouble being sympathetic with it.

I have TONS of things that roll off my loot vendors all the time. I a couple of hundred items of them last night, but I don't complain about that. I know that I'm selling slow moving merchandise and if it becomes a chore to me I'll decide which merchandise to remove or to sell at a lower price.

All that being said..I want the restock button myself. Its silly to have to go through all the button clicks to put things back up for sale. I support that 100%.
