Thread: Can we have the storeroom go back to holding items for 30 days again?

While I agree that 7 days is a bit low, I can see and understand why it was done.

For me the solution is to do as other s have suggested, just drop another house opn the ground.

Right on, Seismic. We shouldn't be penalized in the game for vacationing. Or what about those of us with jobs that keep us away from home or the computer for a couple months? The merchant class is dubious enough as it is.

This game is sevrely hobbled by the minutia of upkeep and inventory. In very many ways, it's a lot of work just to maintain your playstyle. I spend at least 50% of my in-game time on upkeep, maintainance, and inventory management.

I fully agree with the "back to 30 day" theory. I recently re-financed my house while having the roof done and remodeling before winter. When I log back into swg, I find my weaponsmith vendor empty... My chef vendor empty and my artisan vendor empty... I have 3 accounts, one of which is a master merchant. I cant tell you how long I stared at my screen after finallt logging back in waiting for the server to catch up and show my items. There has to be a better way than to make it all dissappear.Who wants to be a full time merchant selling ang reselling and restocking all the damn time. I enjoy crafting and playing, not babysitting a vendor cause the devs can't find a better solution for this. I have 4 factories and 5 houses that are full of STORAGE!! I think this is a travesty and incredibly insensitive of SOE's customers needs.

Let me repeat this for though of you that missed it:

WE HAVE NEVER HAD A "30 IN THE STOCKROOM" RULE.

Now I sympathise with thoughts of you who throe no fault of you own had been unable to log in and maintain your vendors. But, the numbers are so low that, it would be stupid to open up for possible exploits to avoid it.
And if you have a job that takes you away from your Internet connection for weeks or months at a time, then merchant is not the profession for you. You can take a 36 day pause from the game when ever you wand just by pulling everything down and restocking.
If it is a family emergency that takes you away without time for restocking, then certainly any virtual processions that might be lost is of relatively little concern.

There are solutions.
1) Limit the amount of items we can have on vendors.
2) Remove the stockroom, and let things stay up indefinitely.
3) Change maintains to be dependent of the collective price on all goods on the vendor.
4) Let vendors delete them self when they run out of maintains, the same way houses do.

Let's go BACK to the "30 in the stockroom" rule.

This "7 days and poof" rule is hurting players who use their vendor for it's intended use. The rule doesn't keep people from storing items on their vendor at all. The rules intended use is moot.

If this is totally unacceptable, then give us an easier way to be able to go through our inventory to re-list it. If I could just see the time left without having to check every item individually and then with a couple of clicks, re-list a whole page of inventory I would be happy. Then when I have a vacation planned, I would go through all of my vendor's inventory pages and re-list the whole thing. As it is now, it would take me several hours to do that.

The vendor, as it is now, does not EVEN represent the type of technology there would actually be in the Star Wars universe. It's not even close to the technological level we have now in real life.

It's not fair that merchants are being penalized like this.

I'll join the choire, I've gotsix vendors with tons of weapons, stims, pets, harvs, etc. on them and I'm soon off on a three week vaccation. A day or two before I leave, I will have to Withdraw Sale on every dang item, and resell them all again. Of course this is a bother. This is not why I play the game, I think it's fun to craft things and to sell them to other nice players. It is not fun to have to spend five hours of clicking and typing in different prices.

The MOST valuable and needed feature for merchants imho is a "RESELL AT SAME PRICE" button in the Stockroom. If all items that falls out of the vendor to the stockroom, remembers the price the were being sold for, and if we could just select the items in the stockroom and click "resell at same price"... now THAT would be a miracle in ease of use.

Going on vaccation wouldn't be such a hassle - I'd Withdraw Sale on all items, and select everything in the Stockroom and just "Resell at same price". Then they'd stay on sale for 30 new days.

It's the hassel about having to click on each item individually, and looking in lists to remember how much to sell everything for, typing numbers, waiting for the five second delay after clicking Sell.... not so fun.

To help make it a little easier for you, let me give some advice.

After you remove it all from sale, in the stockroom, group the items by clicking name at the top of the list. Then double click the first item. That will show you the price you had it for sale at. Then at the bottom of that screen click sell item. This will bring up the screen for selling. Type in the appropriate price you found on the previous screen and either hit enter or click the button sell. I prefer enter. Then with the list of similar items just right click and select sell item. The sale screen comes up and then just hit enter. Right hand on the mouse and left hovering over enter will at least make life a little easier for what you are about to go through. When you come to a new set or quantity you have to do the price check thing again. Be careful not to hit enter when you have the item selected in the stockroom. It causes you to retrieve the item.

You have my sympathy, and thank you for your support.

He is right folks. When you have thousands of items for sale and would like to take a vacation, this REALLY SUCKS!!!

Developers, please please please give us an easier way to relist our sales or extend the stockroom decay to 30 days. I'll take the easier way to relist over the other any day btw.

Restocking the vendor, losing a bunch of inventory when I took more than a week's vacation last month, has really made me question whether it is worth the hassle of being a merchant. I understand that SOE is worried about folks griefing the system by using vendors as storage, but I feel like I am being unfairly targeted by this. I'm a Master Merchant FFS. Why would I invest all the skill points just to store stuff?

The frustration points for me are:
- Losing items in such a sort time
- Restocking items (trying to keep a vendor filled with a good variety of goods is a PITA)
- I like to use the description field. I want to relist an item (better: multiple items) at the same price WITH the same description

You know, some folks I've been talking to have over 3,000 items on multiple vendors. Can you imagine the headache???!!!

Come on Developers. Do us a little tiny favor and make this easier! PLEASE!
