Idea for New Merchant Skill:

Designate Merchant Area - This skill would allow a Master Merchant to designate 1 shop (that they have admin right to) as a merchant area. The Merchant area would allow players to call vehicles and mounts instantly as if they were residents of the building. This would allow players to store their vehicles and call them instantly when visiting shops.

Raising limits should be an issue on basic principle. At 10.000 there still be people who feel they need more but it never hurts to ask

Item nr. 2 is never going to happen. Business III gives players a vendor with 250 item limit. Letting backpacks with contents count as one will bring back the storage vendors. 250 * 50 = 12.500 items storage capability. Bye bye item database.

I don't know if this is an issue or a bug, but GWVS is not functioning as intended:

In the past few days I have used the search to looks for resources. When I finally find what I am looking for, I create a waypoint. When I get to that destination, it usually points to A vendor, but it does not contain the item I asked for. I have tried this a number of times, from terminals in Bestine, Theed and CNet.

I know its not happening to me as I have asked some guildmates and they report the same thing. I have also seen someone else post something similar in a different thread (though they were rather sumarily dismissed).

Yes the first few times it happened, I thought it was my error; I grew more careful with each new iteration and have not been sucessful even once in the past 3 days.

The search function is either scrambling the cells in each row after a sort proceedure, or is not de-listing items after they are purchased. I suspect it is probably the first of these options.

This issue has rendered this function completely unusable andmust be fixed.

I'm seeing the same thing, but I suspect the latter cause. If your guildmates are cooperative, this should be easy enough to establish. Run a search to find a vendor with just a couple of identical items. One of yougoes to the site and buys the items; the other remains at the bazaar and checks after it's purchased.

As a "Merchant / Image Designer"I know something IDers are asking for is the ability to ID vendors, which as a merchant is some I think would be great. Maybe if both professions had it on their wish list the dev may find time to do it.

I would have 2 items as my top issues.

  1. Restock button. Or any thing to make stocking faster If I make 100 helmets it should be alot faster to stock them.

  2. Private Vendors I want to sell to guild members at a lower rate I am not on line the same time as all my guild mates and want to be able to give them a discount.

PLEASE consider this for the list!

1) Extended Listing times (I am unsure why there's a limit anyway)

2)Magic Restock button to relist all (or all checked) at the same price they were before.

an hour a day on restocking surely stinks...please please add this to the list!

** As a side note, it's not a bug....just an idea. I would like to have an option to "evaluate offers". In other words, if I'm selling something for a certain amount, and someone offers "X" instead...perhaps I'll take that offer and a sale is made. Maybe it's too much code, but that would be cool. Perhaps even restrictions on how far below your list price would be considered (say you input anything below 90% of list price would be automatically rejected). Just dreaming here..

My number one problem, right now, is the stockroom bug. I am out of business because of it. If you do not know it, items that go to the stockroom can not be retrieved. It shows a list of items and, at most, you can do somthing with one item. Then it shows the stockroom empty. I have tried restocking from other vendors, logging ad nauseum, reporting it and have had no luck. Please do not tell me do delete and redeed the vendor. It is not practical. I created a new vendor and have the same problems with that.

I have seen this bug. However, I have a workaround that might be a little more efficient for you. First, you need more than one vendor (my apologies if you only have a single vendor; if you can, set up a second one just to do this). Start out by pulling up the stockroom of the second vendor (i.e., the vendor that you aren't restocking). Now following this process:

  1. Retrieve whatyou can from the stockroom onthe secondvendor (i.e., the vendor that you aren't restocking).

  2. Close that vendor interface.

  3. Switch to the vendor you'rerestocking and list the itemsyouretrieved from the stockroom.

  4. Close that vendor interface.

  5. Switch back tosecond vendor andbring up its stockroom.

  6. Rinse and repeat.

Yes, this is tedious, but it seems less tedious than what you describe

I very much enjoy being a merchant, even after the galactic search feature went live. Actually, it seems like my sales have increased following this feature going live, so I'm not going to complain about it too much--no I'm one of those merchants that intentionally undercuts everyone else; I just offer a one-stop shop for pilots with high quality, reasonably priced items.

However, there are a few nits about the profession I would like to see fixed:

  • Inventory Control -- I hate that time of the month when it comes rolling around; you know the one I'm talking about, that dreaded day that everything on your vendors needs to be relisted. Ahhhhhh!!!! The interface for listing items is tedious and time-consuming. I swear to the gods to that I actually fell asleep one night right on my keyboard doing this. However, that bit of boredom usually is broken up by the incoming spam telling me the obvious (i.e., that all these bloody items need to be relisted).

  • Galactic Search Option -- I still would like to see the galactic vendor search option be associated with a certification associated with a skill box--Advertising IV, Master, ??? In addition, when a merchant enables this option on their vendor, it should (significantly) increase the maintenance of that vendor.

  • Merchant Skill -- I would like to see the skill requirements for Merchant decreased. Why? First, because they are increasing the skill requirements of every elite combat profession. Second, because there is precedent for it. The devs decreased the skill requirements for ID to appease the gods. Finally, being a merchant is something that just about everyone needs to be. Even combat types need an outlet to sell their loot.

  • Structure Access Control -- I would love to see finer granularity on privacy control for structures. For example, I have a medium generic planetary house (you know, the one with three rooms all on one floor). I would like customers to only be able to access the first room upon entering the structure, while denying them access to the rest of the structure.

  • Custom Order Listing -- I want a better mechanism for "delivering" an order to a client. I take custom orders via mail--I even require customers that I talk to face-to-face to follow up with a mail. My mail listing becomes a perfect queue for fulfilling those orders. However, my customers aren't always around when I complete their order, and even when they are, it isn't always convenient for them to run out to my shop that very minute. Right now I stuff their order in a cargo pocket (or something) and list it on my vendor under their name. Nothing stops anyone from griefing this person by buying up their order. And how does the client now that their order is actually in the bag? It is strictly a trust based system right now. In addition, I'm tired of making bags.

  • Packaging -- I want a feature that allows me to "bundle" items on a vendor as a package. I'm a shipwright, and I have become quite adept at making a particular ship and a corresponding set of components that allow the pilot to have the "most fun". I want to be able to take my experience with dealing with customers one-on-one and package it. A customer should be able to browse the contents of a package as well.

  • Vendor Access Control -- I want a features that allow access control to a vendor. At a high level, I want to set the factional alignment of a vendor. For example, perhaps I only want players that have no factional alignment or Imperial factional alignment to access a particular vendor. Another example, perhaps I only want a select group of friends to access a vendor.

  • Auctions -- I want the ability to conduct private auctions on my vendors. It should allow me to set up rules similar to those I establish on the trade forums. I also should be able to advertise these auctions through some mechanism.

  • Signs -- I want Master Artisans or Novice Architects to be able to make us signs that we can hang in our shops/malls just like posters, pictures and paintings. Isn't time the devs give us this? We work around this by changing the name of an armor segment, but it doesn't quite have the same effect.

We have a number of issues:

1) There is absolutely no reason to have a email sent for every single item that falls to the stockroom. It is highly annoying to get one every 3-5 seconds as possibly hundreds of items fall off. A single email each day stating that there are items in the strockroom of _________ vendor is sufficient. The constant spamming makes it difficult to do anything in the game as it disrupts concentration and makes even conversation difficult.

2) There is no reason we shouldn't have a relist all button. It is not fun to sit and restock stuff for 3 hours. And you have to do it cause folks will send you tells asking where is such and such. We need this option to help streamline our efforts.

3) Heck we could solve both of these in one easy step. Once something is put up for sale it stays up for sale......potentially forever so long as maintanance is paid on the vendor or until it is sold. Real Life stores work like this. The items don't magically move themselves to the stockroom after being on the shelf 30 days so that the poor employees have to restock them on the shelves and there is no reason to have it in the game.
