All this talk of Pet Tanks / People Tanks , and groups going for too high mobs is all fine and dandy.......you are all missing the point.

Healing Is Healing.

I vote no, because I'm hoping for all these £"$%$! pets to finally disappear from the face of each planet. There's more pets than people out there. I'm sick of them.

Everyone is talking about how easy medical xp is to get, maybe for some of you it is, for me I work nights so when i'm on my friends are asleep. The only time i get medical xp is by some miracle of me actually being in a med center and someone needing healing. And it's different for entertainers gaining xp because they gain xp from sometimes 10 or more people at once, where as I have to hope that my wound packs are higher than the other 5 medics in the med center or I have a faster heal rate (given the times of the day that I'm on there is usually only 1 or 2 patients). I liked being able to have a faction pet(s) and heal the damage and get xp. Given the hours of the day I play that is easiest for me rather than trying to find a hunting party at 4:30am.

Do you take your pet to your Doctor? Do you go to a Vet when you are sick? I didn't think so.

Vets heal pets, we heal people.

I'll stretch the reality here and allow for the possibility that CH's should be able to heal their pets (but in a totally seperate skill line/XP line). But for game sake, you could make the argument that CH's are infact skilled enough to be secondary Vets.

Pet Healing XP is a HUGE, easy way to advance in Medical XP. Easily exploited. There are other ways to gain Medical XP. Or, you just want the EASY route....

Did anyone ever think about the possibility of the dev's NOT expecting you to heal the 3000 wounds? Perhaps this wasnt a nerf for medics but instead a nerf for creature handlers(the more the merrier)???

You obviously don't get it do you? There is only one healer profession and that's medic. Bio Engineers are scientists not doctors or vets so they have nothing to do with this. Healing pets in no way in hell is an exploit. Pets are living beings as are humanoids and they are treated the same when it comes to heals. They suffer HAM damage as humanoids, they suffer wounds which require healing. Healing is healing no matter who or what you are healing. Granted I am now at the point where I don't need the experience now but at least I have the guts and heart to stand up and fight for all those up and coming doctors and combat medics and even master medics. We do have a pretty good profession going here though it's not as borked as the rest of them and more people are starting to pursue it. Be supportive of the newbie medics. Never know when you will need them one day.

I "get it" perfectly well. There are 3Medical professions, not one, and "Healer" is not a class in this game..Each of the 3 hasdistinctive skill sets, and Veterinary Medicine is NOT one of them, sorry, it just isn't.The other two just are built upon the foundation Medic Class. I just don't agree that this was a huge "nerf" as the majority of the players in this thread obviously do. Players made Medical XP just fine BEFORE this game turned into Pet Wars (god that term sucks, but it IS valid). I support the Medics in gaining Medical XP, just as you do, what I don't support is the ease of which Pet Healing gave out XP. I could live with a 5% XP gain for Pet Healing, but nothing more than that. Pets were way too easy of a way to gain medical XP. You kid yourself if you argue differently.

Medics/Doctors/Combat Medicscan and still will get Medical Exp. They just won't get it the no work way.... healing Uber_Pet_01, and that is a GOOD thing.

Lets talk about Bio Eng's for a sec. They are a helluvalot closer to a Vet than Doctors are. So whySHOULDN'T THEY and maybe (stress maybe) CH's be the only one's able to treat Pets? BE's make the Vet Stims, it's a logical path to follow...

However, time will tell seeing as the Devs are re-looking at this.

For those of you who need help getting medical xp, go on a group advantures and take out creatures too powerful for you and them to take on In my experience there is better xp doing that than sitting in a crowded medical center.

I made all my experience to get doctor in the medical center, admittingly that was before anyone was any good at healing yet. When I made doctor, to get xp faster I healed at a tusken camp for a while. I made great xp there, honestly by the time I ran through several stimpacks I had almost gained enough xp for an entire skill level.

Now, xp isn't quite as easy anymore, but hunting with a group can still be a good way to make medical xp. And to be fair, getting master doctor, aside from the crafting, was far too easy. Anything the devs to slow it down, I'd go for (even if I had to start over again).

Flawed logic how? BEs DO NOT HEAL like medics. BEs only make the stims. That makes them like every non medic out there. Pet stims were the opener to no med XP for healing pets. However SOE's logic is flawed since medics has stims that surpass the pet stims in healing. Anybody can heal a pet with stims but ONLY medics can heal humanoids and heal pet wounds. Nodody can replace the medic.

I agree with restoring xp to pet healing. If you are worried about exploits, then take away the money from healing your own pet, just like you get no xp from healing yourself. Its not like I see a lot of master doctors or combat medics out there anyway, so the xp must still be kinda hard to get.

Elanora -

I disagree completely, although my situation may not be typical.

I 2-box a Swordsman/CH, and started a medic on 2nd PC - this totally screwed me up, as I was trying to get my new medic leveled up and simultaneously reduce downtime.

This really kind of screwed up casual players, and IMO is typical of what you can expect from SOE.
I played EQ for about 2 and a half years, and it looks to me like they are taking a lot of the fun out of the game in order to turn it into an EQ-type grind.

This is an increadibly bad idea, but it seems to be the way the whole game is going.

Rather than introduce new content, they seem intent on slowing things down.

Probably not a bad idea from their point of view, since they don't seem to have the resources to fix major problems with the existing content!
