Thread: Petition to restore Medic XP to pets
Already mentioned, I maxed out on medical xp as a doctor before I ever healed a single pet. I think that perhaps xp for healing other people's pets mabye... or mabye reduce the xp you get from healing other people's pets... mabye down to 1/4 of what you were getting. But, I don't think that there is any necessary reason to get healing xp for healing pets. It makes sure you get xp for what you should get xp for, healing people... you aren't a vet after all

Don't get me started. There are many other ways to get healing xp. Spend some time in a med center. Work some missions in a group. You can even get creative.....buy a cheap MSE med droid, go to the cantina, and offer to heal people with wounds outside the cantina. Most people are willing to avoid the trip to the med center.

This change is just another change that will cause grief to players.
Especially since they chose to make pets the ONLY VIABLE tanks. Give me a break. /boggle
One more thing I just thought of.... I don't think the CH profession was meant to be a fighter class.I think the spirit of the CH profession (the Devs can smack me if I'm wrong) was to be a support profession by taming animals and selling them to the other classes.

I find it interesting that the only people who are glad they changed are either master medics/docs/combat meds or non medics.
Fundamentally, healing is healing, whether you heal the guy next to you or his gurreck.
If we cannot get xp, we should not be able to heal the pet either. I bet as soon as the CHs howl about that that we'll get it right back.
As it stands now, Iwill only heal the pets of those in my hunting party, my guild, or those that pay. The stims that are required to heal those pets at faster than a snails pace are expensive and hard to make, not to mention the resources can be extremely hard to find. Im sure as h*ll not gonna waste it on something thats not going to give me something in return.

Lol u guys are missing the point...pet xp will do nothing to slow ur med xp down if u look around for other opportunities...
there are so many other "exploits" to get tons of med xp...
nerfing pet xp is justanother example of how SOE has no idea what is going on in their game.
If med xp was so easy to get and yes yes it is...then u need to raise the med xp requirements for advancement...
closing one exploit while there are similar exploits out there is just poor development...
people were making master medic in the first 3-4 days of the game when there werent even pets in the game cuz no one had yet to hit CH.
Pet healing is about 1 of 100 different ways to get tons of xp.
What SOE has done nothing to slow down med xp...people will just move to other exploits for med xp...
of course if SOE had tested this before going live with it...they would probably see that taking out pet healing xp did little or nothing to slow down people getting med xp...
med xp is everywhere....its in the shuttleport...its in the cantina...its in the wild, its in the med center....
again failure of SOE to see the big picture
all this will do is take out the grinding power gamers which isnt such a bad thing...

Lol slow people down getting xp? Look at the master CH that comes in with 3-4 pets that need healing? It's nice exp for a novice CH. As a previous post said, all the ones happy about the no exp are the ones who don't need it. If you don't need it then be constructiveinstead of whiningas it doesn't help those that still have a looooong way to go. Pets might have not been around when you masterswere still newbs because pets weren't an issue then. Regen rates on pets were considerably faster and there was less of a need for healing them and there were not many CHs around till they started showing up after reaching the level needed to get them. You can start out as a medic with a new character. You cannot do that with CH. Now regen rates are a fraction of what they used to be and since ranged weaponry and pets have taken over there is far less exp for medics in hunting in groups. I can do the same thing in a group as I can solo by sending my sludge panther in and firing from range. Panther gets beat up, gets healed and back at it. That's no different from a group.Give me a med center in a major city and I can make 10x the exp, When it comes to pets, they are supposed to tank for CHs. Pets fight side by side with CHs. That is the whole point of CH.
The CH changes made sense since it took Rancors and Gurrecks out of the hands of newbs which is how it should have been. CH were even consulted about the change. The changes even hit test center first. This medic change makes no sense, we were not even consulted out of courtesy. Someone just pulled the change out of their arse and said "Hey, start the nerfmachineup."

I think you should get healing exp for healing other peoples pets, not your own.
If the game wasnt gimped up so you have to use pets to tank high end mobs then the change would be fine as is. Its obsurd that a TKA isnt the best tank in the game for pets are.
This current change is the equivlent of not getting combat exp on humanoid mobs but exp for everythingelse. You heal it, you should get exp for it. If anything lower the amount of exp you get.
Just a side note, just think how pissed off the Creature Handlers are going to be when they nerf a pets tanking ability so all those CHs dont carry a raids main tank in their datapad.
