Thread: My newest beef----------Dam Ninja Healers
ROFLMAO!
Trying to "camp" people that need healing?
ROFLMAO!!!
It’s no surprise to me that you’re playing on an unofficial PvP server.
So my point is, am I the only one who got this "Big-Happy-Family-Community" impression? Or is everyone just talking about their bad experiences which are surely inevitable.
Anyways, if I am the only who got this impression, maybe the others should take into consideration what I've said.
Anyways, good luck all.
After seeing this thread, I decided to start asking whenever it looks like a particular medic is helping out someone. Not often but I did a few times. I was surprised that I did indeed get a few "No thank yous". Now I had never been asked before not to heal someone but I do understand the relationship that people have in wanting to get certain friends who are medics higher along. I heal for my friends in the same way.
So in short, sorry if I have ever "ninja healed" on any of you. "No" does mean "No".
But if you don't say "no", don't gripe about medics in a public place - a place designated for them to "do their thing" - healing everything in sight. It's our job....it's what we do.
Just my thoughts on this, as I haven't run into this particular scenario yet....
I think that the situation is both right and wrong for several reasons. I think it's wonderful Goohe has been a good doctor to gain the reputation he has. Patients that wait and ask for him by name is the greatest recognition we in the medical profession can get.
That being said, I think that Goohe has made his point well. I don't object to people healing others without asking. If they walk into a medical facility injured, then it's usually safe to assume they want to be healed (since we don't have to worry about healing tell-tale scars). However, if a patient requests a certain doctor's care, then I think it was rude of those to continue treating him. I know it is our medical oath to care for our patients, but it is also our job not to heal should the patient request that as well.
However, I don't think this problem will be solved if you stay in the med center, Goohe. Since the med center is the place for doctors to congregate, you can't always count on everyone to respect you and your patient's wishes. I would suggest either finding a quiet corner of the med center to do your healing (I've always managed to find one) or like others have suggested, set up your own shop or get a medical droid.
Either way, remember not to get mad and keep upbeat. ![]()
To combat this what i do actually is if ppl ask me specifically to heal them i'll tell them to go up to the second or third floors of the hospital. Usually i get a "thats an elevator? wow..didn't know that" then i get the xp that i was looking for.

I think the only issue here was that they did not stop healing when requested...and if that's the case, go spend 800 credits on a mouse droid with a medical module 1, and heal them wherever they want to be healed. Or leave the hospital for a few minutes, in case they're macro'd and AFK. I personally "ninja heal" walking around by the bazaar. I've found about 5 people this week who didn't know that they could get their wounds healed by medics in the hospital -- they thought they just sat in the hospital, and didn't want to waste their time doing it. They had to learn sometime, right?
What I don't understand is why everyone got mad about the others pitching in. If you're not in it for the XP and your patients don't want to tip anyone but you, then they can still tip you.
I do regular stints in Mos Entha Medical, and there's usually a trade-off or a queue happening. Wounded patients come in, and we either greet them and say we'll be with them shortly, or we ask one of the other medics on-duty to start on that patient. When people ask for training, the higher-up medics usually find out who needs the apprentice points, and dole out the training from there. If someone walks in and refuses service because they're waiting for that special medic, then they're about to never get healed again without directly (and politely) asking one of us for our help.
I agree with a lot of the opinions here, particularly: 1) the med center is public so you shouldn't expect to be a sole healer for a patient, 2) if a patient asks you to not heal them, you should honor their wishes.
Now that most of the servers have been up for a while and there are master professionals about, I think the original situation can be easily avoided by staying out of the med center and simply using your med droid to heal friends at home.

Of course no means no. And yes, XP is hard to come by at the beginning, and I sometimes watch my XP bars when I'm close to reaaching a new skill. Right now I usually go into med centers when I have some onesy-twosey health packs left and I need to free up some inventory space. (Why can't the game realize that one's only got a single charge left and use that?)
Honestly, though, it's not hard to walk into a medical center and stand for 20 seconds to see who's healing whom. Even if it's a bunch of newbie medics, and scouts, and entertainers in gossamer white ("they have a basic medical training"), you can see who's being treated. You can spend this 20 seconds saying, "Dr. So And So, who's next in line?" You can click on the HAM bars of suspected medics to see if someone might be out of stim packs and are using /tendwound. You can assess the situation.
More than simply healing someone, collecting a tip and/or XP, and getting the patient back on his feet, it's only fair to make sure the first go first. If you think it's frustrating having "your" XP taken by another doc, imagine the Wookiee brawler who gets ignored because he's only got a couple of scrapes, and every doc leeches onto the guy with the all-black HAMs.
Take a second and see what's what. That's what I do.

Master Scout here browsing your boards. Just started a new medic character and need to learn...
I would LOVE for a medic or doctor to come OUT of the hospital on big hunts and help us out.
Thoughts?
Also did you know that a Ranger (fancy scout) can make a base camp with a medical crafting station in it? Cool huh? How does he fit it all in his pack?
Get out of the medical centers...we will protect you, lol
