2. It will be nice not having to buy a starship again and again (due to griefing or whatever), at the same time, what will be the point in keeping the Shipwright profession after say 4 to 5 months, due to the fact by that time everyone will have a starship of their own, and most vendors will be overstocked with them? Do Shipwrights get the sole skill of repairing starships? Do Shipwrights get to make upgrades for starships, that can be added "after" creation of the ship? Are there any other reasons to keep it after the first 4 to 5 months? If not, then what's the point in keeping it at all except to have one around in your guild, for whatever may happen...?


Thank you for your attention to these 2 questions and I hope to hear some clarification on them in the near future, though I know you all must be immensely busy with Fan Fest, Publish 9, polishing up JTL and implementing beta for it.






I am a DE and my professions "products" don't get destoried(with some exptions) and I still sell a number of Medic Droids as well as Storage Droids even though they have been in game almost sence luanch your forgeting that the Cumunity is alwas influx and as shuch there will all was be people looking for New Full ships and lets not forget the only one who can do Otherized upgrades to your ship seems to be the Shipwrite as well. I personally Feel that while the "ship" won't get destroyed the "componance" should. Exsample someone shoots off your engein you need to ether get a new one or Repair whats left of it.

To the Developers of Jump To Lightspeed:


I think having to be able to just stop your ship completely to talk to other ships that stop completely having bubbles over there ships is gonna be really wierd and reckless. Mabey you should have a hover ability not just a full stop and the hover will slightly move your ship in which you will have to adjust all the time for a realistic feel.


Also how will chatting work in space, will there be bubbles over my spaceship or something


I think a great Idea is if you had a transmission in your ship and a message pops up from another player into your ship or whenever a player talks to all it can be in the space ship and it should look like a transmition not a chat channel.





I was wondering ..... I had seen the videos of JLS and the game loooks awesome. I noticed that the ships such as the X-wing do not fire in a rapid manner with laser after laser. Its more of a single shot after single shot, so is that howthe game will be withno rapid firing or is there a component that will allow you to rapid fire?


I also hope the presentation of the game is good, such as if I was in the X-wing and i want to turn shield generators on I would press a button and you can see my characters hand in first person view actually pressing a button in which a button will light up in the ship and a sound you hearshowing the shield generator is on. Same for going in to lightspeed.


^Such as this example above will there be such great presentations like that in the game, giving it such a Star Wars feel of actually being in the ship.


These things would be a great addition to the game.


Also will there be any additional longer extensions of Star Wars music added in, so if I was in town i would have some nice starwars music going on in the background that has a city feeling and when im out exploring there is an exploring type of sound and more battle themes.

Space will have plenty of content. There are10 different huge space zones with missions, quests, etc.



i love how you blindly try to answer the question from steelheart. how the hell do you know? content? that's the one thing this game lacks. if it's got 10 time more content than they had at launch that's still not enough.




I "blindly" answered the question because that's what I heard out of the mouth of one of the developers of this fine product as they were demonstrating it for me. It's practically another whole game. There will be loads of new content. Space based content.


And as for the ground based content, how much of it have you actually done before complaining that there isn't enough of it? Have you done your faction's theme park? How about Jabba's? What about the Genosian Bio Lab? How about the Corellian Corvette? The Warren? The monthly story arc acts? Missions from the random NPC's in the cities? The Bestine elections? etc, etc, etc...


Here is a link that lists hundreds of individual quests to complete. If you haven't seen all of the game's content how can you say that it doesn't have enough?

here's a question we heard about the exclusive space ship for veteran players

is there any word on how were going to attain this ship ?? or what kind of ship it is

i heard rumors about it being the firespray?

I'm kind of disapointed in the travel system, when I started SWG I was really looking forward to being a smuggler and actually smuggling REAL players who are suspects in an Imperial search that are trying to get out of harms way andcannot use registered transport. I think it would be rather nice if some players, such as Jedis, or players who have commited enormous crimes against the Empire be permenantly TEF.



Crimes could include >


Imperial seizure of a Rebel in a faction based battle, and the player has been I.D.'ed by the Empire. If that player gets rescued by his fellow Rebellion, he cannot use registered transport, or walk through cities that are heavily Imperial. Or he will be placed in an imperial jail for a period of time. The only way to walk through towns that have an Imperial presence is to talk to an image designer and have your image changed, but you still cannot use registered transport.


The only way to remove this TEF is to destroy the terminal in the Imperial base that has your information.


The point of all this is, if a player needs to get off of a planet, he can hire a Smuggler who has a ship, and smuggle them to a planet which is heavily populated with Rebels, and mount a strike against that Imperial base.


The same could go for Empire V. Rebel, Rebel V. Empire.

I say sweet!


Yes there are unanswered questions but from what I see so far....excellent.


It has alot of potential. I just hope they (Devs) do differentiate the different factions from one another by staying true to the game. TIE = no shields or hyperdriveand X-Wing = Shields and Hyperdrive and Droid Socket.


If the Imps want Hyperdrive and Shieldsget a TIE Defender or an Assault Shuttle.


The skill system for the pilots is really cool. I would prefer that piloting not take skill points. The Shipwright needs to take points from the regular skill point pool otherwise everybody and their grandmother would be one by spending JTL skill points.


As is, from what I can see, the planet surface will be devoid of life once JTL comes out. Everybody will be trying to get their "Ace Wings" for their respective faction as quickly as possible and the Shipwrights will have booming business.


It will be interesting to see how much of an economy shift there will be.

Nice! Great! Incredible! Bravo! These and many more words are used to describe this update. I must agree! I've got a question: I'm an Imperial and I want to fly an Imperial Shuttle... What I mean is the shuttle that was used by Crix Madine in the first Rogue Squadron game. The Imperial like version of the shuttle that Han Solo, Luke, Leia, etc. were flying in the last movie into Endor (unless that WAS it!). Anyway, I was wondering if thatshuttle could be a 'multi person' shuttle with.. let us say two extra customizable rooms on a 'mini hallway'. Will this be in effect? In time? Thank you!

If I'm in my TIE, I better be able to attack the X-Wing I see in the distance. Or if a person is in their X-Wing, they better be able to fight the TIE they have just spotted.





the basic TIE and Basic X-wing where NOT just flown but Imps and Alliance Piolets respectivly so if you "attacked that X-wing in the Distance" you might end up shot for destroying a Correllian Secruity Fighter(they used X-wings) X-wings and TIEs where designed by shipbuilders that sold to the public/government as well as the verous armies. I do however think that there should be a "overt variant" of both ships that are supiror to the Non-overt versions requiring the choose of risking PvP or Having a Slightly Weaker ship when facing NPCs. This also would make sence from the stand point there there ARE peices of Millitarish Hardware Aproved for Civilian use. (such as IRL the Jeep or Hummer)
