"Do ships suffer decay over time like vehicles?"

Right now, no

Haden Blackman, LucasArts Producer

I think it should stay this way. Starships are going to be the focus of combat and will take more than enough damage without them decaying on their own.

True. We had the YT-1300 completely decked out at E3 with player-crafted furniture (and a Rebel flag…).

So, when are Imperial players going to get the same chance at a flag as the Rebels get? Thunderheart told me over 3 months ago it was in the loot tables and he would "look into it." I'm sure I'd like to display my pride as the controlling government of the galaxy in my YT-1300 as well...

I read in an article that there will be three versions of the YT,such as a Privateer YT,Alliance YT, and an Imperial YT. Is this rumor true, or will you have to be a privateer to fly a YT?

Also, can Rebels train in the Privateer profession if they choose not to train in the Alliance pilot profession?

PS- Thanks for naming the profession 'Alliance Pilot.' Rarely did the Alliance members in the movies refer to themselves as "rebels," and I consider it a somewhat derogatory term from what I could gather watching the films.

Can a player attack in a yt-1300 if he/she is flying it alone?

I urge the developers of the SE to throw a bone to non-Imperial and non-Rebel guilds.

It seems blindingly apparent that most of the PvP Combat discussed thus far in the Space xpansion has concerned Rebels vs. Imperials. What about mercenaries?

There are several WELL KNOWN pirate/criminal organizations and countless other mercenary groups across the galaxy. Are they not to take part in Pvp combat?

From what I have seen of the new profession trees it "feels" as if Imperial or Rebel pilots will be "superior" in dogfighting ability than "basic" pilots (and I assuem that if you are a 'mercenary' you can only use the Basic Pilot tree). What this tells me is that the developers consider the onyl "good" PvP combat as being Imp vs. Rebel. And once againw e are brought to the black and white world of SWG PvP activity. Imp or Reb...there is nothing else.

Pardon me if i find the principle not very well thought out. Those who do not wish to be Imperial or Rebel SHOULD be allowed to attack Imperials and Rebels, take part in raids, and otherwise engage in activites that Imperials and Rebels do. Not everyone wants to support the Alliance, and not everyone serves the empire. There is much self-interest, people sellign themselves to th ehighest bidder, etc.

I would consider it highly illogical to not include mercenaries as a viable fighting contingent in the Space Expansion.

Examples:

A smuggler has stolen Rebel cargo...that both the imperials want to confiscate and the rebels want to retrieve.

Mercenaries attack a rebel convoy for profit.

An Imperial Colonol pays a pair of Mercenaries to track down and Eliminate Alliance threats in the area. Or Vice versa for rebels.

AN Imperial convoy comes within territory controlled by pirates...the pirates attack the convoy.

The possibilities are endless...and extremely fun...and allow for a much more in-depth player interaction dimension. Instead of having JUST imperials and rebels...Imperials and rebels could garner support from 3rd parties

no more black and white.

But this can not be done if all the developers do is make it Black and White, imperial versus Rebel. There is MUCH more to Star Wars than just these 2 factions. My guild began in SWG as a Mercenary Guild...we did not want to be forced to be Imperial or Rebel to participate in PvP.....this has not been a viable option int he ground based game and has ruined, to soem extent, the flavor of the guild.

Please make mercenaries a viable PvP option for the Space expansion. Lets see not only Rebels and Imperials gunning it out.....but lets also see the Mercenaries involved.

"Imperial Flags were given in Bestine for voting for the right guy..."

To gain a Rebel flag: you do the themepark.

To gain an Imperial flag: you vote in an election, which the candidate who gives the reward may, or may not win, then hope he isnt bugged on your server and actually rewards you, then hope that he doesnt give you the Necklace Of Honour(or whatever its called, it can be made by a crafter), because if he does, you can NEVER get an Imperial flag.

Thats right, once you vote for someone and they win, they will never give you another reward again, not even if you vote for them and they win, and not even twice so you have a chance of getting both the rewards they give.

Imperial players cant just do a quest and get their flag, they have to gamble 3 times and hope that they get one, and if they gamble and lose, they never can.

I am concerned with the adding of Hyperdrives and Shields to TIE Fighters. I understand that it would be easier for me as an Imperial Pilot however it severly takes away from my experience as a TIE fighter pilot. I don't believe in having shields and other comfortable energy drains, all power to thrusters and lasers basically. It just doesn't seem right to me either being or seeing a TIE fighter in deepspace so far from any base of operations. It also makes the factions seem even more the same, merely looking different, which I though we were trying to come away from, a TIE with shields andhyperdrivesis basically an X-Wing with a different skin.

This add and that possibly all masters of the Imperial Pilot will evetually be flying TIE defenders seems to undermine providing a star warsy feeling. I would like to know how set in stone these concepts are, and if you are possibly working on another way to keep it star warsy. This goes for the YT-1300, are we going to see these as the only multiperson ships, b/c they will be quite numerious, why not make some faction specific ones like Imperial Shuttle for example.

Anyhow, Thank you

Navigation Question:

Will navigation within 10 sectors be based on the current waypoint guidance system, that is currently in game, or something different?

I just hope beyond all hope that you make anybody flying in a faction aligned fighter tef'd to the opposite faction. If this doesn't happen, it will be a severe blow to the Star Wars continuity. Make it so people can have atleast two fighters in their datapads. One for their faction, and one for neutral flying.

If I'm in my TIE, I better be able to attack the X-Wing I see in the distance. Or if a person is in their X-Wing, they better be able to fight the TIE they have just spotted.
