I have an idea that may satify thedatabase storage folks as well as make it easier for redeeding.
How about allowing people to redeed their ships with all the components they put in it, but... when the ship is redeeded, it takes up the volume of the ship deed *and* all the ship components. Meaning, if you have 9 components on the ship, redeeding the ship will take up 1 ship + 9 components = 10 item space of your personal inventory being used.
We could then store our ship configurations and change up very easily, while still keeping the database storage relatively intact. After that, I don't really think we would need to change the 3 ship limit, so much. Plus it would allow for people to sell tinkered ships easier.

Would really prefer it if the Yacht did not count towards the ship total. No one wants to spend who knows how long putting every item back to its exact spot should the need to redeed a decked-out/decorated ship arise.

when you get to master and have a vet ship 1 extra ship slot would help. don't mind if you can't use a extra slot for a MP ship

At the very least the Vet "Reward" ship should not count agains the cap. The same thing with the flash speeder. Why should someone have to delete one their already existing bikes to be able to accept their"gift"?

3 would be a decent limit if the MP ships didn't count.
They take up a lot so they should either count as a structure, or a ship not both.
As for redeed being your friend, I agree up to a point.
You have to haul out all your parts first then redeed, this adds to the storage problem we have all been complaining about (not enough)

Wow! This thread is at 4 pages.
Cool! Keep siging the thread, let's just hope the Developers are listening. Sometimes the solutions are so simple, it just plain frustrating. It would be so simple to just give us one more slot. I'd like to use an A-wing without having to Re-Deed an existing ship.

im not even a veteran and the 3 ship limit is too small for me.
right now i have my longprobe for dsihing out massive damage, my awing for pvp and cap ship busting(she eats covettes for lunch and ISDs for dinner), and my nova for fun/storage. i would like to be able to have a ywing for taking a friend up and farming xp, and possibly an xwing (i would really like to try this ship agian, but i dont want to deed one of the three ships i use more often.
now add to that the freispray that some people want (not me, i prefer function over form) and the sorosub, and you have a real problem.
sure its not that hard to just carry it all around with you in your backpack, but it eats up inventory space and also when you deed your ship you have to retexture and paint it agian.

I believe I signed before. However, this thread can be all 5-stars and 1000 pages long. If the mechanics are not in place, there's nothing the devs can do about it.

1 or 2 more ship slots, please! Even without using the yatch, the profession ships have many uses and would bevery nice to be able to leave deeded, outiftted and painted.

I know it's a minor thing, but I hate re-deeding my ships because it always reverts to the base texture and colors. If they kept those details stored with the deed, it really wouldn't be a huge issue for me to just swap stuff around as needed.
I agree that the yacht should not take a datapad slot - especially since it is also taking a lot. I don't see how it would increase database loads if it was treated as the flash speeder seeing as it doesn't need to keep track of component configurations and it takes as many lots as a factory which can hold more items.
